NCIS is rolling out a new spin-off that brings back some characters from the past.
Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo have signed on to star in a new NCIS drama, allowing them to tell more stories about their fan-favorite characters.
Cote played Agent Ziva David for many years, and she originally left NCIS in Season 11. She would later return for some intense episodes involving Leroy Jethro Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon).
Michael ended his NCIS run as Agent Anthony Dinozzo in Season 13. The story had him exiting the job to care for a daughter he shared with ZIva. At the time of Dinozzo’s exit, he believed Ziva had died.
Many years have passed since Tony and Ziva shared the screen, but that all will change thanks to a new show that folks are calling NCIS: Europe (not the official name… yet).

Paramount+ announced today that it has given a 10-episode series order for an untitled “NCIS” spinoff centered on the beloved characters Tony Dinozzo and Ziva David, with Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly (“Loving”) reprising the iconic roles.
Slated to begin production later this year, the all-new series reunites de Pablo and Weatherly on screen for the first time in 10 years. The two also will serve as executive producers alongside John McNamara, who wrote the premiere episode and will serve as showrunner. Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain and Shelley Meals will also executive produce.
Following Ziva’s supposed death, Tony left the NCIS team to raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. Paramount Global expects to take a $1 billion charge in the current quarter due to ongoing programming shifts and the layoffs it announced earlier this month.
CFO Naveen Chopra delivered that outlook during the company’s fourth quarter earnings call with Wall Street analysts. The company is “making a variety of important changes to our global workforce and content strategy,” he said. “These moves reflect decisions we’ve made to transition our business and enhance our future value proposition. They will also result in a programming and restructuring charge in Q1, which we currently expect to be approximately $1 billion.”
The company has been increasingly “optimizing and sharing” programming across streaming and linear TV, Chopra noted. “We’re also focused on using the collective power of Paramount Global to unlock synergies more broadly. This mindset enables headcount cost reduction, including the action we announced earlier this month.”

There’s really no stopping the NCIS franchise. CBS Studios is developing yet another NCIS spinoff series, but this one will bring back two fan-favourite characters from the original series. Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are set to reprise their roles of Tony Dinozzo and Ziva David for a 10-episode series destined for the Paramount+ streaming service.
Cote de Pablo departed NCIS in 2013, with Michael Weatherly leaving two years later. After Ziva supposedly died, Tony left the service to raise their daughter, but when Ziva was found to be alive, the pair reunited in Paris after completing a final mission. That’s where the new show will pick up. Per the show’s logline, “When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so that they...

The NCIS franchise is expanding again — with a pair of very familiar faces from its past.
Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly are set to star in an untitled, Paris-set spinoff of the series, reprising their roles as, respectively, Ziva David and Tony Dinozzo. The series order comes on the heels of Weatherly returning to the flagship CBS series last week as NCIS paid tribute to the late David McCallum.
De Pablo left NCIS in 2013, and Weatherly departed two years later. In the show’s story, Tony left the service to raise his and Ziva’s daughter after her supposed death. When she was discovered to be still alive years later (de Pablo made several guest appearances in season 17), she completed a final mission and was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris.

In 2006, a movie came out starring Daniel Craig, Sandra Bullock, Sigourney Weaver, Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, Isabella Rossellini, Peter Bogdanovich, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Toby Jones. That’s a murderer’s row of talent bringing to life writer/director Douglas McGrath’s script — and very few people paid it much mind. But “Infamous” was a victim of bad timing, not bad filmmaking.
One can’t blame audiences for greeting it with a collective shrug. McGrath’s movie tackled the exact same topic as the previous year’s “Capote” (the movie that earned Philip Seymour Hoffman his first and only Oscar): Truman Capote’s time spent researching and writing his true-crime classic “In Cold Blood.” After the buzzy release of “Capote” and months spent in awards season campaigning mode, no one was ready to revisit the subject.

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) used a new appeals court ruling made against infamous pharma fraudster Martin Shkreli to support her bid to ban former President Donald Trump from New York’s real estate industry.
In a filing last week, James’ office told Judge Arthur Engoron, who presided over Trump’s civil business fraud trial, about the new appeals court ruling against Shkreli.
In this ruling, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a lower New York federal court’s order.
The order banned Shkreli for life from the pharmaceuticals industry due to his attempts to block competition for a drug, which he increased the price of by over 4,000% overnight in 2015.
Through his efforts, Shkreli raised the price of the antiparasitic drug Daraprim from $17.50 to $750 per tablet.

Lily Gladstone is defending her Reservation Dogs co-star Devery Jacobs’ right to her opinion about Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese’s take on the Osage murders.
The Golden Globe winner briefly addressed the Echo star’s comments about the film, in which Jacobs described the experience of watching it as “hellfire.” The film chronicles the “reign of terror,” a string of unsolved murders by white Americans as part of a plot to steal the wealth of the Osage tribe, which retained the mineral rights, including oil leases, on their reservation.
This was carried out in part by white men marrying women of the tribe and becoming guardians of their Osage partner’s estate. In the film, Gladstone plays Mollie Burkhart, an Osage woman who is targeted alongside her family by her husband, Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio), for their oil headrights on their Oklahoma reservation.

When Lily Gladstone was growing up on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in rural Montana, acting in plays was an escape from bullies, who targeted her for being “verbose and goofy.” The idea came from her father, a Native man of Piegan Blackfeet and Nez Perce heritage, whom she describes as “a bit of a wizard” and “had me convinced when I was younger that he was able to move clouds.”
“My dad saw early on when I was onstage that I just thrived,” Gladstone says. “When I was nine, it was the worst of it.

Martin Scorsese is breaking down exactly why Killers of the Flower Moon ended up being so focused on the villainous Ernest Burkhart, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
The director spoke about the topic following some criticism the film has received from the Indigenous community. During a virtual press event Wednesday, Scorsese was joined by stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Robert De Niro and Jesse Plemons.
The Apple TV+ film tells the real-life tragedy of the 1920s murders of Osage Nation members after oil was found on their Oklahoma land. It has garnered considerable acclaim from critics. But some members of the Indigenous community have said the story should have focused more on the character Mollie Burkhart (Gladstone) and other Osage impacted by the murders. There has also been criticism that DiCaprio’s Ernest was made to seem overly sympathetic, and shouldn’t have been the film’s main focus. Questions for...

Killers of the Flower Moon. Interviewed by the Hollywood Reporter at the film’s Los Angeles premiere, Osage language consultant Christopher Cote shared his thoughts on Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. “As an Osage, I really wanted this to be from the perspective of Mollie and what her family experienced, but I think it would take an Osage to do that,” Cote said from the red carpet, referencing Lily Gladstone’s character in the film. “Martin Scorsese, not being Osage, I think he did a great job representing our people, but this history is being told almost from the perspective of [Mollie’s husband] Ernest Burkhart and they kind of give him this conscience and kind of depict that there’s love. But when somebody conspires to murder your entire family, that’s not love. That’s not love, that’s just beyond abuse.”Cote continued:i think in the end,...

NCIS hit a home run when they cast Cote de Pablo as Special Agent Ziva David in season 3. Pablo got the role after submitting a videotape audition, and the creators loved her from the start. This article contains Killers of the Flower Moon spoilers.
Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon is a towering achievement in moviemaking, one which has lingered in my memory for over a week. The storied filmmaker’s expansive vision of the Osage murders, which were perpetrated between the 1910s and ‘30s, is brutal, unflinching, and ultimately haunting. It is difficult to think of a film that better encapsulates the almost industrialized manner in which American racism is harnessed to create cold hard cash for the greediest and cruelest who nestle at the top of white privilege.
Yet I’ve struggled to use the word “masterpiece” while writing about the film, either here or in my review. Many colleagues have already supplied that loaded term to the film’s marketing campaign, placing the picture along the same pantheon of other Scorsese masterworks about bad men who do bad things before (sometimes) reaping the whirlwind: Goodfellas.

Though Martin Scorsese and his team worked closely with many members of the Osage Nation tribe on the production of Killers of the Flower Moon — which follows the real-life 1920s murders of Osage members after oil was found on their Oklahoma land — one of the film’s consultants admitted to complicated feelings after watching the film.
