Beijing, Jan. 13, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Announced by Cmc Pictures, The Wandering Earth 2, the sequel to the China’s Highest Grossing Sci-Fi Film which has earned nearly 700 million dollars in box office worldwide, has set its release date in Australia & New Zealand on January 22, same as mainland China.
The Wandering Earth 2 is based on a novel of Cixin Liu, one of the most renowned Sci-Fi authors in China for his best-selling book The Three Body Problem, which has been adapted into a TV series helmed by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (Producers of the Game Of Thrones) and about to be on air on Netflix in 2023.

Cmc Pictures is to give a 40-screen (30 venue) launch in Australia and New Zealand to “The Wandering Earth 2,” a sci-fi film that is expected to be one of the largest Chinese movies of the year.
It will launch in Australia and New Zealand on Jan. 22, the first full day of the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday and coincide with its release in mainland Chinese theaters.

The flick follows the true story of Lauren Simmons, the youngest equity trader on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and only the second African American woman to hold that position. Bailey will star as Simmons in the pic, which will be directed by Numa Perrier (The Perfect Find). Simmons is an executive producer on the film, as are AGC’s Stuart Ford, Lourdes Diaz, and Glendon Palmer.
