American singer-songwriter and musician, best known for his work with Bright Eyes, and also associated with Desaparecidos, Norman Bailer (The Faint), Commander Venus, Park Ave., Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley
Band, and Monsters of Folk.
Started playing the guitar and writing music at the age of ten and released his first original, independently produced album in 1993 at age 13.
Parents are Matthew and Nancy Oberst; he also has two older brothers, Matthew Jr. and Justin Oberst. Conor and Justin co-founded the independent
record label "Saddle Creek Records" in 1993.
