Exclusive: Brian Wittenstein has left the Hyperion Talent Agency. According to multiple sources, it all came down quickly this week. I hear a client of his approached the leadership of Hyperion, launched and run by former UTA agent Ryan Bartlett, with a complaint about inappropriate behavior by Wittenstein.
Details are sketchy but according to sources, whatever Wittenstein did had made her uncomfortable. Word is that the due diligence over the sexual misconduct allegation uncovered previous instances, and Wittenstein was let go. He was escorted out of the building Wednesday. Wittenstein’ presence was immediately removed from Hyperion’s IMDb Pro pages.
“Brian Wittenstein is no longer an employee of Hyperion Talent Agency. We have no further comment at this time,” the agency said in a statement to Deadline.
Wittenstein also would not comment on the circumstances surrounding his exit, but claimed it was amicable.

Matt Fechter has joined Hyperion to launch their Comedy Department. Fechter comes from CAA where he worked as an agent in both the comedy and talent departments working closely with such actors, directors, and comedians as Aristotle Athiras, Courtney Parchman, Jim Rash, Jeff Garlin, Laura Terruso, Madelaine Petsch, Maddie Phillips, Michael Cimino, Mike Cabellon, Miles Brown and Nat Faxon.
“We couldn’t be more fortunate to forge ahead into the comedy space with Matt leading the charge. He’s proven his skill and ability to break new acts as well as his success representing established artists who have crossed over into different genres and mediums. He’ll no doubt continue that momentum at Hyperion,” said Hyperion founder, Ryan Bartlett on Tuesday.
Prior to CAA, Fechter worked in the motion picture and television departments at UTA.

Exclusive: Hyperion, the talent agency founded by former UTA agent Ryan Bartlett, has signed Iranian-American director Rayka Zehtabchi, whose latest short film, Period. End of Sentence., was nominated for the Best Documentary Short Subject Oscar this year.
The pic, which is available to stream on Netflix, is set in a rural village in India where a group of women bands together to install and operate a sanitary pad-making machine, combatting the crushing stigma of menstruation, improving accessibility of sanitary products and discovering newfound independence and hope for a better future.
The short was also awarded the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at last year’s AFI Fest.
Zehtabchi made her directorial debut with Madaran, an Iranian-language short about a Iranian mother who is confronted with the decision of whether to end or spare the life of the person who killed her son.
Other short film credits include Shnoof and We Home.
