70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker (De Niro) has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Hathaway).
It’s hard to believe that it’s been six years since writer/director Nancy Myers took the reigns of a movie, what she’s been doing in the meantime I don’t know, but after seeing The Intern, I’m glad Myers and her particular brand of filmmaking, and humour, is back. Especially give just how brilliant her latest opus is. Yes, it might sound strange but even this horror-loving,...

Some movies just have you at hello (and if they don’t, they probably won’t ever get you), and The Intern is one of those films. Warner Bros. has released a new set of images, and they actually clue you in to more detail than the trailer, but further marketing for this one is probably a lost cause. If Robert De Niro showing up to be Anne Hathaway‘s intern doesn’t suck you in, you’re immovable.
If the added information that this one is written and directed by Nancy Meyers still doesn’t do anything for you, I don’t think there’s the slightest hope of reaching you.
As I said, the images reveal a bit more of the story, especially in the sense of De Niro and Hathaway appearing with a cute kid, but I don’t think that’s going to be big reveal...

Warner Bros has debuted the second trailer + a poster for Nancy Meyers' upcoming comedy The Intern, starring Robert De Niro as a 70 year old man who takes an internship at a company run by young CEO Jules Ostin, played by Anne Hathaway.
