Harry Potter movies made many changes compared to books, both necessary and not. Some of them added wholesome scenes; others butchered character arcs… But one unfaithful creative decision in the final movie defeated the point and message of the entire franchise for the sake of cool CGI effects, and even 13 years later, avid Potterheads still can’t get over it.
Harry Potter Finale Reveals the Truth
Throughout the entire series, Lord Voldemort’s persona is being gradually demystified. In the first part, he’s a mysterious Dark force whose very name still instills terror in everyone’s hearts; by the time of the Battle of the Ministry, he’s more of an immensely powerful psychotic evil mastermind keen on wreaking havoc; but it’s the finale of the Harry Potter series that finally shows Voldemort’s real self.

In the Wizarding World, folks are pretty sensitive whenever it comes to Dark magic and Dark wizards. Most families have been affected by Grindelwald and Voldemort’s reigns of terror, and the wizarding wars took too many lives to count… But despite all that, young students are still being raised as if their finals will be judged by Death Eaters and are taught appropriate skills.
Hogwarts Education Is… Questionable
Don’t get us wrong, there are many great things students learn at Hogwarts: how to get along with animals, how to fly on a broom, or how to care for plants. Unfortunately, many much Darker subjects are also being taught there.
Why do sixth-year students need to brew the Draught of Living Death? There are barely any positive use cases for such a potion — and countless evil ones.
Why do first-year students get to learn dueling spells like the Full Body-Bind Curse?...

Even decades after the release of the last Harry Potter movie, there stands a universal truth about the franchise – the books are always better than the films. Now, a major reason behind this partiality is because the films, despite being magical in their own way, failed to live up to the Potterheads’ expectations.

Leaving out major details, significant characters, and important events, the Harry Potter films lousily focused on the obvious logline. Well, this one might hopefully be not too controversial, but Naruto and the Harry Potter franchise are way more similar than you think. As our experts sat and discussed the two stories, they quickly realized that Naruto is essentially the anime version of Harry Potter!

Lego has been churning out "Harry Potter" franchise building brick playsets ever since "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" launched into theaters back in 2001. At the time, Lego was still producing minifigures that were all yellow, and they had not yet regularly crafted minifigures with accurate skin colors and features. But that's not the only advancement that Lego has seen in the two decades since the Lego Harry Potter collection began. Building brick technology and engineering have made it so the latest Lego sets inspired by the Wizarding World can bring the franchise's magic to life with impressive detail, and their latest release is no exception, even if it's on a much smaller scale.
On September 1, Lego is releasing the Hogwarts Castle and Grounds as a 2,660-piece micro-scale model that allows fans to build the entire wizarding school castle and some of the surrounding geography, complete with some fun franchise Easter eggs sprinkled throughout.

Attending the Zurich Film Festival for the screening of his latest film, “The Good Nurse,” Eddie Redmayne spoke about his desire to work with director Tobias Lindholm, the joy of watching Jessie Buckley’s performance in “Cabaret” and the disappointment of missing out on “Games of Thrones.”
“The Good Nurse,” which Variety’s Tomris Laffly describes as “soulful” and “devastating,” tells the true story of nurse Charles Cullen, who confessed to murdering at least 29 patients but who may have in fact murdered as many as 400 people, and fellow nurse Amy Loughren (Jessica Chastain), who helped solve the case. It’s based on the book “The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness and Murder,” by Charles Graeber.

After seven books, eight films, a theme park, and the creation of a veritable merchandising empire, you can hardly blame the Harry Potter production team for wanting to go out on a high note with the final installment of the beloved film franchise. But one final mountain loomed ominously before Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II could wrap: the dreaded epilogue.
This “19 years later” segment closes the final Harry Potter book with Harry and company at King’s Cross, sending their own children to Hogwarts. In theory, it provides closure, a happy ending for Harry, and the satisfaction of continuity with another generation of witches and wizards off to school. In practice, it was an absolute beast to film. For one, no one knew the best approach to handle the hair or the makeup required to age the 20-something cast into believable 39-year-old parents of 11-year-olds.

Years before he literally dazzled us onscreen as Edward Cullen in Twilight and even before he took on the lead role in The Batman, Robert Pattinson was fighting crime and channeling his supernatural abilities as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. At just 17 years old, Cedric sacrificed himself to Voldemort to give Harry the chance to escape and warn the rest of Hogwarts of the Dark Lord's return, breaking the hearts of Harry Potter fans (myself included) around the world in 2005. Despite Cedric's notable influence in the fourth film, Pattinson's role is often overshadowed by the legacy of the sparkling stalker vampire he would later go on to play in 2008. Still, I think Pattinson's role as one of the most memorable wizards in Hufflepuff history deserves credit where credit is due.

We’ve heard rumors of a major new Harry Potter game in development for quite some time now, but the recent PlayStation showcase finally brought us an official trailer for Hogwarts Legacy.
Much of what we previously suspected/heard about this project remains true of the final version. It is indeed a Harry Potter RPG that allows you to roam an open-world version of Hogwarts as a custom created character. That also means that you’ll be able to attend classes, interact with classmates, and generally do all of the things that we associate with the school of magic.
What we didn’t know is that Hogwarts Legacy will not take place anywhere near the timeline of the books. In fact, it takes us all the way back to the late 1800s.
“We are always asking ourselves how we can draw from the rich library of characters, creatures, and themes...

The status of a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child live-action film seems to constantly change. We know that Warner Bros. are enthusiastic about the prospects of a full-on Potter sequel to run in parallel with the Fantastic Beasts spinoff series, but J.K. Rowling is reportedly dead set against The Cursed Child becoming a movie. Plus, you have to imagine that the producers of the London and New York theater show are eager to maintain the exclusivity of their experience.
However, we’ve heard that Warner Bros. may have found a way around this that pleases everyone. The Cursed Child is a sequel to Rowling’s books, not the studio’s movies. So, why can’t there be a sequel to the films that uses elements from The Cursed Child while remaining very much its own story?

Things didn’t work out as expected with Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The movie was planned to be the second in a five-part series and Warner Bros. had no reason to believe that it wouldn’t perform as well as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. But the audience just wasn’t there.
Nobody knows exactly why it was such a surprise failure at the box office, but it was likely some combination of bad reviews, iffy word of mouth, retcons that annoyed diehard Harry Potter fans and possibly a touch of franchise fatigue. As such, Warner Bros. have now gone back to the drawing board for Fantastic Beasts 3.
The switch of focus the studio decided on isn’t the most imaginative, but is probably a safe way to ensure an audience. Yup, we’re heading back to Hogwarts. And along the way, we’re reportedly going...

The third installment in the Fantastic Beasts franchise was originally supposed to get underway a couple of weeks ago, with shooting ready to kick off in Iceland before the Coronavirus pandemic forced them to hit the pause button. As you’re probably aware, Ezra Miller remains in the country, and if it wasn’t for a major global crisis, then perhaps he wouldn’t have ended up choking out a fan in public and potentially damaged his entire career.
Of course, that incident marks the second time that the Wizarding World spinoff series has faced a very public backlash against one of the key members of the cast, with Warner Bros. also facing criticism a couple of years back for keeping Johnny Depp on board as Grindelwald, although recent developments in his court case have since swayed public opinion on the Pirates of the Caribbean star.

In the original Harry Potter series, the name Lestrange is synonymous with unwavering loyalty to Voldemort. The poster child of the family is, unanimously, Bellatrix Lestrange, who Helena Bonham Carter brings to life in a delightfully evil performance. The family becomes important once more in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald after we learn about Newt's dear friend Leta Lestrange and her connection with Credence Barebone.
Between five Corvuses and varying levels of involvement in the two Wizarding Wars, the Lestrange family definitely gets knotty. J.K. Rowling has spilled the beans on many mysteries and backstories of the Harry Potter series over the years, either on Pottermore, in the Fantastic Beasts prequels or via her Twitter account. One secret that so far she’s refused to reveal, though, is exactly how Horcruxes are created. But given that Potterheads are amongst the most dedicated fans on the planet, there’s one commonly believed theory that might explain it.
If you’re a diehard Hp nut you might’ve heard this idea before, as it was first suggested on Reddit a few years ago. ScreenRant recently brought back the post though and offered their own input, so it’s worth revisiting.

Though all seven books have already been used up, there’s always talk of there potentially being more Harry Potter movies down the line. After all, J.K. Rowling did co-write The Cursed Child stage play, which extends the story of the Boy (now Man) Who Lived. Ralph Fiennes, star of the original movies, doesn’t think any more are likely to happen, but if they do, he has one message to other actors: hands off Lord Voldemort.
ComicBook.com caught up with Fiennes at New York Comic-Con and asked him about the possibility of more Potter on the big screen. As part of his answer, the British star made clear that he wants to be the one to get the call to come back and play Harry’s nose-less nemesis.

The Harry Potter movies featured some of the best casting in cinema history. Pretty much every British actor of note popped up, with the cinematic versions of the characters instantly becoming the definitive versions in fans’ minds. One of the most successful though has got to be Ralph Fiennes’ Lord Voldemort. As the primary antagonist over the entire series, they absolutely had to get him right, and the actor’s performance (combined with creepily effective VFX) created a villain for the ages.
Sadly, Deathly Hallows Part 2 had to be the character’s swansong in the Potterverse. Or at least, that’s what we assumed. Fiennes recently appeared on the BBC current affairs programme Newsnight though, where he was asked how he’d feel about returning to the role. Cryptically, he said:
“Well, there are variants, aren’t there? Fantastic Beasts and things.”
It’s an interesting answer, and the interviewer then pushed a little further,...

When it was revealed Nagini would make an appearance in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, we were intrigued, but after seeing the movie - and knowing that (spoiler alert!) she chooses not to follow Grindelwald like friend Credence Barebone, aka the lost Dumbledore - we have questions.
After Newt Scamander and the Aurors' battle against Grindelwald, Nagini goes with them, the good guys, to Hogwarts. Somehow, 67 odd years later, Nagini ends up hanging out with the bad side, becoming one of Voldemort's most powerful weapons from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to the end of the series. How the tides turn! If you're wondering why the Maledictus made a total 180-degree turn, you're not alone. Let's investigate why she may have slithered her way into the dark side.
Nagini is loyal to Voldemort because he can speak with snakes.

Are you sitting down? Just before the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, we've stumbled upon a wild new theory courtesy of our favorite corner of the internet, Reddit. Now, as you know, the new Fantastic Beasts film will have connected threads to the Harry Potter books, even moreso than before. We're going to be a seeing young Minerva McGonagall, as well as a young and maybe slightly gay Dumbledore. But perhaps even more titillating is the mystery surrounding one of the books' great villains: Nagini.
Recently, we learned that not only would we meet the woman who will become Nagini, but we'll also get more information about her origin story. Like, for instance, the fact that she's a Maledictus. But here's where things get really interesting. According to Reddit user soupycutie, there's a lot of evidence to suggest that Nagini may be more than just Voldemort's future horcrux and snake companion.

‘Fantastic Beasts’: Johnny Depp Allegations and Mixed Reviews Won’t Deter Potterheads, Research Says
Johnny Depp’s abuse allegations and personal drama, on top of divisive reviews and social media backlash surrounding the upcoming chapter in the wizarding world have little impact on legion Harry Potter fans.
This Friday marks the release of “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” a Warner Bros. sequel derived from characters created by J.K. Rowling in her blockbuster boy wizard books. In its brief but feverish promotional life, the film has been burdened with bad headlines that could sink a movie.
Here’s a recap of some of the headwinds facing the Potter spinoff. Depp, who plays the titular dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, has been accused by his ex-wife Amber Heard of physical abuse — an allegation he denies. He also consented to a lengthy Rolling Stone interview, in which he smoked hash and appeared to indulge in harder drugs, drank oceans of wine, and made a boozy forensic accounting of his declining personal fortune.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is set to be full of connections to the Harry Potter stories. Not only do you have Johnny Depp as the titular villain and Jude Law as the young Albus Dumbledore, but Claudia Kim is playing a human version of the snake horcrux Nagini. Clearly, creator J.K. Rowling is keen to use these prequel movies to put a fresh spin on familiar characters and elements of the mythology.
Given that, this new theory suggests that another figure from the franchise might not be who they seem. First of all, check out the below featurette for the sequel which sees Rowling and the cast chatting about the film. In particular, the writer makes clear that Ezra Miller’s Credence Barebones is the character that the plot revolves around.

For Harry Potter on film, things kicked off with Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001 and continued a year later with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Encompassing young Harry’s second year at Hogwarts, that film kicks off with an elf named Dobby attempting to convince Harry not to return to school. With the help of friend Ron Weasley and the Weasley family’s flying car, he does so anyway, discovering that certain students are being turned to stone. Reuniting with Hermione Granger, the trio learn that the forbidden Chamber of Secrets has been opened, unleashing a creature that is attacking those students with Muggle (human) blood. Eventually Harry meets the spirit of Tom Riddle, who seems friendly at first but is ultimately revealed to be the man who eventually became the dark lord Voldemort. At the same time, Harry tries to cope with being a “celebrity” of sorts at...

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second film installment in the Harry Potter spinoff series and the tenth in the Wizarding World franchise that includes the original Harry Potter movie series. The Fantastic Beast series was originally planned as a trilogy, but it was later expanded in scope to include five films that form the prequel series to J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. The Fantastic Beasts film series, planned to cover about 19 years prior to the epic battle between Grindelwald and Dumbledore in 1945 (the year Tom Riddle graduated from Hogwarts), follows the magical adventures of the […]

If you're a die-hard Harry Potter fan, you gotta check this out. Some fans got together and made a fan film that explores the origin of Voldemort, and it's not bad! Voldemort: Origins of the Heir dive into the character Tom Riddle and his progression to becoming The Dark Lord. And while the acting isn't always top notch, the whole production is pretty solid for what it is.
The film was written, directed and edited by Gianmaria Pezzato, who also did all the VFX work. He really did do a fantastic job bringing this story to life. Check it out below, and let us know what you think!

The Harry Potter saga came to an end (on the big screen, at least) back in 2011, and in the years since, fans have been understandably eager for anything and everything they could get their hands on in regards to the Boy Who Lived and the Wizarding world he inhabited. Unfortunately for them, however, there hasn’t been very much.
Aside from a stage play and some supplementary books, the franchise has gone mostly quiet – which is quite surprising actually, given how lucrative it is. There is Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, of course, but that series takes place long before Harry was born and for the most part, features brand new characters.
So, with Mr. Potter himself seemingly being left on the shelf for now, it’s up to fans to create their own content, and that’s exactly the reason why Voldemort: Origins of the Heir has come into existence.

In the many years since “Wizard People, Dear Reader” first introduced “Harry Potter” aficionados to the possibilities of fan creations, there’s been a distinct lack of similarly worthwhile endeavors. Here to fill that void is “Voldemort: Origins of the Heir,” a 52-minute fan-made film exploring the early years of He Who Must Not Be Named. Watch below.

Spoilers For Game Of Thrones Season 7 Episode 1 Throughout
Waiting for Game of Thrones to return is challenging; its absence from our screens feels almost as long as the coldest of winters in Westeros. Thankfully, after a much prolonged period, our agony has been relieved, with Season 7 surging into our homes with ferocious force.
“Dragonstone” – our season premiere – beautifully maps the political landscape following the vast ramifications of its predecessor, but much like Daenerys Targaryen returning to the titular location, it reminds us just how much we’ve missed the Seven Kingdoms. They are violent, they are uncompromising, and they are laden with dangers and dishonesties, but they’re also home.
With George R.R. Martin’s “The Winds of Winter” firmly in the rearview, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are working from their own script; from their own think tank. If this introductory hour is anything to go by,...

While fanmade films and projects have been a part of fandom for quite some time, never have they ever actually been produced so well and so frequently as they do now. You can venture on to YouTube right now and see all kinds of fun little flicks made by fans out of the excitement of a certain series or franchise. However, every so often, you get fan films that somehow seem to transcend above the rest of the heap into something decidedly more special.
This may very well be the case for a new Harry Potter fan film entitled Voldemort: Origins of the Heir. As one can expect from the title, this flick is set to chronicle Tom Riddle (a.k.a. Voldemort) in early years — before he became one of the most feared wizards in history. It seems like territory that’s prime for mining, but what’s really...

Teaser Trailer For an Impressive-Looking Harry Potter Fan Film Called Voldemort: Origins Of The Heir
Over the weekend a friend of mine sent me this teaser trailer for a fan-made Harry Potter short film called Voldemort: Origins of the Heir. I was super impressed with the production quality of the short and it looks like it's going to be a great film!
The short film was written and directed by Gianmaria Pezzato for Tryangle Films and it tells the story of the early life of Voldemort, the "powerful dark Wizard from the Harry Potter saga, and all the reasons that made his name so well-known and feared among his peers." The short hopes to give us a better understanding of who Tom Riddle was before he became Voldemort. Here's a description that was released:

The big-screen Harry Potter prequel “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” may have received a mixed reaction from Muggles, but a new fan film trailer showcases some amazing special effects and the spirit of J. Directed, written and edited by Gianmaria Pezzato, “Origins” was spun off of the sixth book in the series, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”
