Inspirational charmer, T for Taj Mahal, tells the wonderful story of a young man’s journey to bring literacy to his village through a unique social enterprise. Illiterate villager, Bansi played by Subrat Dutta (Talaash), runs a roadside eatery near the world-famous Taj Mahal. Concerned that another generation of villagers will grow up without a proper education and get ridiculed and duped as he has been, he hatches a unique social enterprise idea offering tourists who eat his food an option to pay their bill by teaching the local youngsters. The idea is an initial hit with tourists and the children until a big company muscles in.

In the village of Bajjar, Uttar Pradesh, not far from Agra where the Taj Mahal sits in splendour and attracts millions of visitors (both from India and abroad) every year, Bansi (Subrat Dutta), an illiterate man, decides to hatch a plan in order to educate the village children. Bansi, we are told, feels personally responsible for the fact that there is no village school or teacher – the details are left vague at first, but as the film unfolds we discover the truth behind this. But because he feels this way, Bansi works out a plan. He’ll take his meagre savings, build a roadside dhaba, and ask customers to pay for their meals not with money, but with their time – Bansi wants them to teach the village children.
Bansi’s scheme is met with skepticism by many in the village. His friend, Saneechar (Pitobash), who has moved to the city...

Factory 25 is opening its art meets goth-rap thriller Hellaware and Cinema Libre will debut a former Swiss foreign-language Oscar contender The Little Bedroom in exclusive New York runs. Despite a few of the talents affixed to Butcher Boys (where the hell was Marilyn Burns) it erupts from a cinematic cave that could have kept it tucked away and spared viewers a few bucks as well as an hour and a half of their lives. Ali Faulkner saves the movie from running out of steam immediately and I heavily applaud her dedication to this role. Ultimately however Butcher Boys is something of a wreck.

Directors Duane Graves and Justin Meeks are the subject of our latest Q&A feature, telling us about their experience with the recently released cannibal film, Butcher Boys:
Can you tell me how you got involved with Kim Henkel on this project? Was this something you came to him with or the other way around?
Duane Graves: We’ve had a long 16 year relationship with Kim Henkel. He was our college film professor back in the late 90′s. We took a year of screenwriting courses under him, and after graduating we kept in touch. Justin and I produced a trio of short horror films that Kim produced, and eventually we decided to do a feature film back in 2006 called “The Wild Man of the Navidad.” That film premiered at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival in NYC and was picked up by IFC Films for release internationally. Oh boy, a movie from the creator of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre himself, Tobe Hooper! Wait, it’s not Tobe Hooper? It’s Kim Henkel?

What came first…the chicken or the egg? The eternal question is not really a question at all. It depends on your own point of view. What you have as your foundation dictates the answer. With that in mind, what dictates that a scene or action is a trademark as opposed to being an homage (or a rip off for that matter)? It depends on our point of view. This thought process comes heavily into play for the viewer when watching Butcher Boys aka Bone Boys, Kim Henkel’s most accomplished work to date, brought to life by directors Justin Meeks and Duane Graves.

*full disclosure: a DVD screener of this film was provided by Phase 4 Films Directors: Duane Graves and Justin Meeks. Writer: Kim Henkel. Cast: Ali Faulkner, Edwin Neal, Marilyn Burns, Derek Lee Nixon, Karrie Cox and Sonny Carl Davis. Butcher Boys is a cannibal film set in Texas, from writer Kim Henkel. Horror fans will recognize Henkel's name from the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974). Henkel is still churning out cannibal films, but the Butcher Boys is tainted meat. Shot on a sparse budget, the Butcher Boys is full of cat and mouse chase sequences and not much more. Instead, the film seems to spin its wheels in the second and third acts. The story begins with four twentysomethings. You will hardly figure out their names before these two couples are being chased by a group of thugs, straight out of S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders. Several minutes are spent with chase sequences,...

It's the reign of the robots on screen, even though Spielberg's Robopocalypse went back to the drawing board for a total rethink.
Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim will show pilot-operated machines tackling an invasion of giant monsters, another Transformers is on the way and the next X-Men film is an exciting time-travel tale that will see mutant-hunting Sentinels targeting the team.
Continuing the trend but on a much smaller scale is Robot & Frank, which will be released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on March 8, 2013.
An official UK poster was recently unveiled for the movie, which is directed by Jake Schreier and stars Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon, James Marsden and Liv Tyler, with Robot voiced by Peter Sarsgaard.
Robot & Frank is a buddy caper. Set in the near future, ageing curmudgeon and retired jewel thief Frank (Frank Langella) lives a solitary life until his son (James Marsden) installs a caretaker robot,...
