An alumnus of the Royal College of Art Film School (MA Dist) Simon is a member of the WGAW, Dramatists Guild, and The Society of Authors. A published playwright, author, designer and theater director, he produced a BAFTA winning short, and has written award winning television drama and feature films on commission for Warner Bros, Island World Productions and Paramount Pictures. In demand as a script doctor, he has taught play writing and screenwriting, and founded 'Word on the Street UK' - along with fellow writers Nicky Singer and Becky Whitney - to provide free creative writing workshops for the homeless community in Brighton. As of 2022, he has a narrative short 'Natural Light' and dark comedy feature Idols of the Tribe (to star Treat Williams) in development along with a Limited Series Pilot 'To My daughter Rosanne'.
