Following their scary good Archie Comics collaboration last year, Cullen Bunn and Dan Schoening are reteaming to continue growing The Cult of That Wilkin Boy with the new one-shot Initiation, and ahead its April 24th release from Archie Comics, we have an exclusive preview to share with Daily Dead readers!
Now working in the music industry as a cunning manager, Bingo convinces musicians to swap their souls for stardom in our exclusive preview below, and here's what artist Dan Schoening had to say about continuing Bingo's hellish story:
"It's such an honor to come back and tell more of Bingo's story with such an amazingly talented team of creatives. This follow-up feels like a natural progression of a rock star that sold his soul for fame and fortune, and all the sacrifice that comes along with it. This time however, the stakes are much higher, and the scale of terror is much bigger in scope.

60 years is a long time. For us, if not for the Doctor, who can pass six decades in a single blink and once spent over four billion years trapped inside a coaster. For those of us on Earth though, 60 years is a very long time to have been a part of things, to have been loved and argued about and mourned and revived and then loved and argued about even more.
To celebrate Doctor Who’s miraculous longevity, below are 60 moments from its lifetime that mark it out as something special. Rather than talking about full episodes, stories or seasons, here we’re looking at individual scenes, ideas or images from the show, as well as ephemera surrounding Doctor Who: a cultural moment, a slice of life, a shared experience. This could range from toys to songs to UGNs (Unexpected Graham Nortons).
There are countless to choose from. There are countless perspectives to consider.

Cosplayers at the Colorado Festival of Horror are obsessed with the new horror movie icon Killr™, but "true believers" Rip and Kit are taking their fandom to frightfully lethal levels in the new three-issue comic book series True Believers. This week, I had an opportunity to interview Stephen Graham Jones, who told me all about the orgins of the project, collaborating with Joshua Viola and Ben Matsuya, and more! We also have a preview of the first issue, which you can check out below:

BBC Books has released a new edition of ‘Doctor Who and the Daleks’, David Whitaker’s adaptation of the first Dalek story that was originally published in 1964 (under the title ‘Doctor Who in an Exciting Adventure with the Daleks’) and the first Doctor Who novel ever published. The difference with this re-release (there was an earlier one in 2011) is it’s in hardback with illustrations by American artist Robert Hack (who started working on the Idw Comic range in 2008). You may have seen his art in the comics and TV title sequence of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Hack’s approach to the art, which is the really distinctive element here, is a successful fusion of the monochrome TV original, Whitaker’s prose, and the Peter Cushing colourful movie version from 1965. There are some of the same bold colours from Cushing’s movie but usually one colour dominates each painting,...

It was Sage Francis who quoted Kurt Vonnegut who paraphrased John Greenleaf Whittier when he declared “of all the words of mice and men the saddest are ‘it might have been'” in his 2014 song “Vonnegut Busy.” Despite who originated this oft-used declaration, the truth remains that few things are sadder in life than a missed opportunity.

It's all compelling stuff to say the least, but to truly enjoy all of the season's nuances require multiple viewings. Marvel isn't the only one exploring what would happen if one iconic character was pit against another iconic character. The Archie vs. Predator series from Archie Comics and Dark Horse Comics has returned with a brand new issue for its second run. With Riverdale in shambles, Veronica, Betty, and Predator-Archie—yes, you heard that correctly—must fight Predators on Mars if they want to return to any kind of normalcy. Archie vs. Predator II #1 is now out on shelves, and we have a look at the cover art and plot synopsis.

Archie Vs. Predator (2015) is getting its sequel this summer, with Alex De Campi writing and Robert Hack as the artist. We’ve got the cover art for the new editions of the comic for you to checkout, but first, here’s a quote from Archie Comics co-president Alex Segura regarding the series:
"The first question people are going to be asking is, 'But...how?' and, for my money, that's the best mind-set to have when you're talking crossovers. Alex de Campi wrote an iconic, legendary mashup — but, I have to tell you, her idea for the sequel goes above and beyond. The fact that we got superstar Robert Hack to bring it to life is sure to make the end result one of the most bonkers, visceral and off-the-wall events in comic book history. Strap in. This is gonna be fun as hell."
Well that should definitely pump you up for this graphic novel!

As usual, this week's round-up of horror comics will not disappoint. DC Comics' The Batman Who Laughs #3 has arrived and Oswald Cobblepot is now in the mix. Also: Army of Darkness/Bubba Ho-Tep #1, Devil Within #3, Vampirella Valentine's Day Special, and horror manga The Promised Neverland Vol. 8.
*Recommendation* The Batman Who Laughs #3: "All the pieces are starting to fit together as the Batman Who Laughs acquires another key element in his plan—one that is linked to the founding fathers of Gotham City and to a legacy started by the Wayne family and protected by none other than Oswald Cobblepot. While the Penguin goes head-to-head with the darkest version of his mortal enemy, Batman is forced to compromise his principles and purge the serum that protects his heart from the deadly Joker Toxin! It’s a no-win situation as writer Scott Snyder and artist Jock return to the sociopath...

Hail Satan. The Dark Lord reigns as Netflix conjures a release date for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 3.
It’s not a tornado that’s coming. It’s something much, much worse. The witches are coming. Despite what the false god and its propaganda machine would have you believe, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 3 and Season 4 will be delivered by Netflix.
“Praise Satan! I’m so grateful to my partners at Warner Brothers, Netflix, Berlanti Television, and Archie Productions for supporting this darker vision of the world’s most famous teen witch," creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who is chief creative officer of Archie Comics, said in a statement via Variety. "And I’m thrilled to be continuing to tell Sabrina’s chilling adventures with our incredible cast and crew, led by the unstoppable Kiernan Shipka.”

We're hunting down all the Archie and pop culture Easter Eggs we can find in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina!
This Chilling Adventures of Sabrina articles contains nothing but spoilers. We have a spoiler-free review right here if you prefer.
Like Riverdale before it, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a series steeped in popular culture. Creator/show-runner Roberto Aquirre-Sacasa has gone on record with his love of the horror genre several times, and a series like this one is a supernatural playground of allusions and references. More than just tipping its hat to fright flicks however, the series also has some surprising connections to the Archieverse at large...both on TV and in the printed page.
This guide is a monster, but it is not yet definitive. So if you catch a reference that I didn't, give me a holler on Twitter and I will update this article accordingly.

Bruce Campbell’s movie characters Ash Williams and Elvis Presley will come face to face in a awesomely crazy new crossover comic book series called Army of Darkness/Bubba Ho-Tep!
I love that comics will have fun telling wild crossover stories like this, but it also makes me sad that no one will ever try to bring it to life in movie form.
In Army of Darkness/Bubba Ho-Tep, “Ash embarks on a soul-searching road trip to Texas on a hunch that Elvis Presley may still be alive and kicking (and supposedly vanquished a mummy)! What follows is a series of universe-spanning events that involve an Elvis jumpsuit with special time-travel abilities, a trip to 70’s Vegas, plus the reveal of an evil new Book of the Dead, the Necronomicon Ho-Tep.”
This just seems like a perfect crossover, and after reading that synopsis it makes so much sense! Makes me...

Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina may put a dark spin on the iconic teenage witch — her school bullies often take a backseat to, say, actual demons — but that doesn’t mean it isn’t grounded in reality.
“I really resonate with a show that can be entertaining and a total escape, while also highlighting real issues and bringing them to the forefront in a way that feels conversational and real,” star Kiernan Shipka tells TVLine. “It’s a nice balance.”
The 10-episode series, based on Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Robert Hack’s comic books, follows the half-witch as she (eventually...

There’s setting the mood, and then there’s setting the mood. Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina very much does the latter with its opening credits, which have been released online two days ahead of the series’ premiere.
The 94-second sequence makes it feel as though the pages of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Robert Hack’s comics are coming to life, setting the stage for a haunting — and highly enjoyable — 10-episode binge. (And let’s not forget that a second season is also on the way!)

Sabrina Spellman may be celebrating her 16th birthday, but we’re the ones getting a gift: the long-awaited trailer for Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the first season of which arrives on Friday, Oct. 26 — just in time for a pre-Halloween binge.

If your idea of Sabrina the Teenage Witch is a light-hearted tween comedy featuring a dodgy animatronic cat, Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is going to rock your world. The series adapts Robert Aguirre-Sacasa and Robert Hack’s 2014 comic of the same name, which takes the core concept of a high school girl finding out she’s a witch and gives it a fittingly horror treatment. There’s devil worship, characters die bloody deaths and classic horror references all the way through.
After a spell in development for The CW, Netflix picked up the show for two seasons, with Kiernan Shipkia (best known for playing Don Draper’s daughter in Mad Men) in the title role.
