Fans who follow the "Psych" writers on Twitter got a shock on April Fool's Day when suddenly their feed was changed to "@mentalistwrites" and the tweets focused on the CBS series which some may feel kinda sorta stole "Psych's" premise.
Personally, Korbi TV thought it was a brilliant prank, considering the, uh, similarities between the two shows. We caught up with Brittany Hilgers -- who runs @psychwrites -- at a recent Paley Center event honoring "Psych" and got the lowdown on what inspired the April 1st joke.
"One of our old assistants who worked with us, he kind of had the idea and he approached me outside of the office and he was like, hey, let's do this [prank]," Hilgers tells Korbi TV. "And I'm like, okay, let's do this. and so we just changed the account name and went for it and it just panned out. It was awesome.
