Sound the alarm — Chicago Fire is hitting 250 episodes. The firefighter drama that kicked off Dick Wolf’s One Chicago franchise on NBC back in 2012 is still going strong in Season 12. In a Today interview from 2021 — when Chicago Fire was celebrating its 200th episode — star Taylor Kinney attributed the show’s success to the “sense of family” and the “chemistry of the cast” that Wolf, an executive producer, helped cultivate. “People see the way we get along,” he said. “It’s a tight-knit group.” But which episodes are the best of the best? Discounting episodes from the ongoing 12th season, the following installments comprise the top 10, according to average ratings from IMDb voters. (And many of these had tears flowing like water from a firehose!) 10. Season 5, Episode 16: “Telling Her Goodbye” A hostage situation develops when gang members take shelter at Firehouse 51 and hold Boden (Eamonn Walker) at gunpoint. “The performances...

Chicago Fire is back from another hiatus, but maybe the writers needed a longer break.
I'm not trying to shade anyone, but let's face it — like many others this season, this episode lacked a certain something. Substance? Interest? Whatever it was, it was missing.
When you have a show with this many characters, and you're constantly introducing new ones, it has to be hard to keep track of the storylines you're putting together. That's no reason to jump the shark, though, and it's starting to feel like that's what's happening.
On Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 10, we at least had a bit of a theme going on. Most of the stories focused on family.
Hermann learned how to track his kids' locations on their phones, Cruz dealt with a potential threat regarding Javi's adoption, and Severide came close to having to watch Stella fall to her death.
Just another day in Chicagoland,...

Gorgeous sorority babes get initiated by two villainous entities, will any pledges survive? Party ’til you drop … dead!
Steve Hermann wrote Night of the Dead Sorority Babes specifically for a group of indie horror “scream queen” actresses. “These actresses go above and beyond their nickname of scream queens; they are talented actresses who gave great performances on set. They are now part of the Acrostar film family and we hope to work with them all again in the future” said Steve Hermann,...

Law & Order: Svu shaped Mariska Hargitay’s life in many ways, even introducing the actor to her husband. She and Peter Hermann have enjoyed a long marriage and have since started a family. But she quipped there was another actor she was willing to break her vows for. And Hermann completely understood.

Hermann came into Hargitay’s life at an unexpected but perfect time. Because of her Svu career, Hargitay had little time for relationships. And it didn’t help that she was transported to the always-bustling New York City.
“Well, I had a few rough years in New York because I’d lived in L.A. my whole life, and felt ripped from the womb when I moved here. It was difficult to maintain relationships working 14 hours a day. As an actor,...

Law & Order Svu changed Mariska Hargitay’s life in more ways than one. In addition to the show being her breakthrough role, it also unexpectedly helped her find her soulmate.

During Hargitay’s single years, the actor found it difficult finding the one. The long hours she had to work in Law & Order limited the amount of time she could go out on dates. A friend of Hargitay’s tried to convince her to have more of a life outside of work. Especially since it was unlikely Hargitay would find a potential suitor at her job.
“She threw a dinner party for me and she was like, ‘Mariska, you need to get out more’ … I could never go anywhere because 15 hours a day, 16 hours a day [on set] every day,...

They teased the return of one of the series' worst villains to date, and you can't deny Emma fits the bill.
And while her return was enough to put a person on edge during Chicago Fire Season 11 Episode 9, it didn't go as planned, and as of now, nothing significant came from it.
Emma's return didn't carry the high stakes one would've imagined, but Carver and Stella sustaining injuries or succumbing to a blast brought the intensity.
It was a fairly understated midseason finale that addressed and carried on with most of the season's arcs thus far.
There was some genuine happiness with the Cruz family plot. After a few bumps in the road, they landed a miraculously early court day and could make things official.
It was sweet to see Cruz and Javi shopping for suits as they went back and forth about the family they now share. Javi was over the moon,...
