As movies and TV shows have become the dominant mode of superhero storytelling, some comic writers have crossed mediums with the characters they pen. Allan Heinberg wrote a brief run on "Wonder Woman" and years later wrote the screenplay for the 2017 "Wonder Woman" movie. Brian Michael Bendis, the defining Marvel Comics writer of the 2000s, sat on Marvel Studios' now-disbanded "creative committee." James Gunn, as the co-head of DC Studios, has brought writer Tom King into the fold.
"Deadpool & Wolverine," which brings the 20th Century Fox side of Marvel into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is the latest example of this; one of the movie's five credited co-writers is Zeb Wells, who also wrote an episode of "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law." For some Marvel Comic fans, however, his name lives in infamy.
Now, Wells' "X-Men" related work is well-regarded. The 18-issue series "Hellions" was like a mutant version of "Suicide Squad...

Ever since Avengers: Endgame came off the theaters, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been steadily declining when it comes to fan interest. While there are huge lists of reasons why it could be happening, from superhero fatigue to fans not liking how many characters are being introduced in a small time frame, it is safe to say that the franchise has fans worried. Projects like She-Hulk, Thor: Love and Thunder, and The Marvels, being referred to as sub-par and outright bad did not help their case.
Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame
In these difficult times for the once great empire, projects like Spider-Man: No Way Home, Loki, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 were a beacon of hope for fans and the franchise alike. There is one upcoming film, however, that could save the MCU from the tragic fate of irrelevance; Deadpool 3, also known as Deadpool & Wolverine.

Mark L. Lester's ultra-violent 1985 actioner "Commando" is entertainingly ridiculous and ridiculously entertaining. Few films of the era reflect on the ultra-violent military fantasies of Reagan's America better than "Commando," an irony to be sure, as it stars a massive Austrian actor. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a former Special Forces Colonel named John Matrix who is attempting to live a quiet life with his sweet daughter Jenny (Alyssa Milano). When Jenny is kidnapped by a vengeful villain played by Dan Hedaya, it gives John the moral license to murder about a thousand people in a violent quest to rescue her. John Matrix shoots, explodes, cuts, stabs, and buzzsaw-frisbees his way through Hedaya's minions without a scratch, a military superman with untouchable skill and an unslaked bloodlust.
The violence in "Commando" is horrifying and spectacular. Looking over the film's parental advisory on IMDb may sell the film better than any conventional advertisement.

When we talk about classic TV shows from the '70s, it's hard not to mention "The Six Million Dollar Man." Airing for five seasons on ABC, the show focuses on astronaut Steve Austin who is gravely injured in a spaceship crash. He then undergoes a government surgery that replaces his body parts with machine parts, making him part man, part cyborg. With the new powers afforded him by these upgrades, Steve goes to work for the Office of Scientific Information, battling evil forces.
The show ran for 99 episodes and inspired six TV movies. Mark Wahlberg has even been attached to star in a big-screen adaptation of the show for years now, with the project stalling out at various points. The differences between Damien LeVeck’s sophomore effort A Creature Was Stirring and his feature debut The Cleansing Hour are staggering. His instincts are ironclad in the cleanly polished and despicable exorcism thriller that stands as one of Shudder’s best original releases in 2020. Unfortunately, A Creature Was Stirring doesn’t replicate the same accomplished approach as an ambitious yet scattershot blast of subgenres. Psychological chills, creature thrills, and family dysfunction become this unfocused commentary on the looming specter of addiction. LeVeck takes risk after risk — the filmmaker’s fearlessness should not be ignored — but there’s a befuddling all-over-the-place-ness that does not play into the film’s favor.

Tucker Carlson’s longtime executive producer at Fox News was sued on Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting another Fox employee in 2008.
Justin Wells was a producer of “On the Record” with Greta Van Susteren at the time of the alleged assault. The accuser, Andrew Delancey, alleges that Wells lured him to his apartment in New York, and then pushed him onto a bed and forcibly grabbed his genitals.
“Defendant Wells quickly began unbuttoning and trying to rip off Mr. Delancey’s jeans as the sexual assault progressed,” the lawsuit states. “Mr. Delancey was in complete shock. He yelled out, ‘no!’ and mustered up the strength to physically slow down Defendant Wells’s physical attack.”
At the time, Delancey was a producer for Fox News Edge, which provides content to local Fox affiliates. According to the suit, Wells had higher status at the network, and had told Delancey that he would help him “learn the ropes.

A former Fox News employee claims in a new civil lawsuit that Tucker Carlson’s top producer Justin Wells sexually assaulted him in 2008.
The lawsuit was filed in federal court on Monday and cited New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which gave a one-year window for plaintiffs to file civil sexual abuse claims regardless of the statute of limitations.
Andrew Delancey, former regional producer for affiliate service Fox News Edge, claimed that in 2007, Wells contacted him on Facebook through a Fox employee Facebook group. At the time, Delancey was working at Fox 13 in Tampa Bay, and Wells was a producer at Fox 5 in New York. The next year, Wells encouraged Delancey to move to New York, and Delancey sent him his resume, according to the lawsuit. He eventually landed a job as a producer at the Fox News Edge team, and started in September, 2008.
According to the lawsuit, Wells started “showering” Delancey with gifts,...

“Love Island USA” host Sarah Hyland is returning to the villa with some wise words for female islanders entering the reality dating show: “Don’t put blame on other women.”
“I think it’s really important to be able to build a strong foundation and relationship with your girls and really be there for each other,” Hyland told TheWrap ahead of hosting the show’s fifth installment. “I know that sometimes on these types of shows like women can be pitted against each other and what I really love about our show is [what] you saw last season — the girls — they’re still friends.”
Hyland pointed to “Love Island USA” alum Mackenzie Dipman and Deb Chubb, who she says she still sees going out together, applauding islanders who not only found love, but also built “lifelong friendships” at the same time.

A lot has happened since the turn of the century. We at Den of Geek can certainly attest to that as we’ve seen the movie industry change and grow, embrace streaming, and pivot toward intellectual property. Yet even as our present stays in a constant state of flux, our fascination with the future remains unwavering.
What dreams may come in 15 years? Or 30? Or a hundred as technology evolves and its relationship with humanity is renegotiated?
If you told a room full of geeks 20 years ago that the 2020s would be a world filled with smartphones and tablets, social media-shaped democracies, and something called “TikTok,” they might think you’d written a sci-fi movie. Still in that upheaval, we saw some pretty good science fiction stories come out in their own time, both Hollywood blockbuster big and intimately indie; iconic and underappreciated.
