“As We Know It,” an apocalyptic zombie comedy starring Chris Parnell and Pam Grier, has sold rights to Buffalo 8.
The Santa Monica-based production and distribution company will release the movie in theaters on Nov. 10 with plans for streaming and video-on-demand in late November or early December.
“We are thrilled to announce the release of this captivating and clever comedy, infused with an exhilarating twist of a zombie apocalypse horror,” Buffalo 8’s head of distribution Nikki Stier Justice said in a statement.

The winners of the 50th Student Academy Awards competition have been announced by the The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Academy voted 14 students out of 2,443 entries to win awards across four categories. Exclusive: Screen Media has announced its acquisition of all North American rights to Helen’s Dead, a mystery comedy starring Dylan Gelula (Dream Scenario), Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild), Tyrese Gibson (Fast X), Annabelle Dexter-Jones (Succession), and Oliver Cooper (Red Oaks). Film Mode and Screen Media are handling international sales on the film going into the Cannes virtual market, which is slated for later this month. We can reveal a first look at the movie below.
The film follows a widowed father (Jane) and his daughter who suffers from major hearing loss (Harlow Jane) whose house is up for demolition. After arriving at the construction site they are soon taken hostage by a dangerous couple (Hirsch and Liberato), who will stop at nothing to retrieve what lies beneath the property. The father and daughter must work together to outsmart their captors and survive the grueling night.
Pic is directed by K. Asher Levin. The script was penned by brothers Banipal Ablakhad and Benhur Ablakhad.
