Marking both the one-year anniversary of the announcement of her latest album Solar Power and the Summer Solstice, Lorde surprised fans with a music video for “The Path.” The cinematic clip, set in the same beachside community featured in her “Solar Power” music video, was co-directed by Lorde along with her frequent collaborator Joel Kefali.
“On the occasion of the solstice, I wanted to share a sixth video with you, for The Path,” the musician wrote in her newsletter. “This video is the first chapter in the mystical Solar Power story,...

Lorde has shared the new video for “Secrets From a Girl (Who’s Seen It All),” and it’s trippy, strange, and classic Solar Power.
The clip — directed by Lorde and Joel Kefali — stars three versions of the pop star: young and in her signature purple lipstick, a “baby woman” in red, and the present-day Lorde in a gardening hat. As with most of her dreamy, early-2000s-styled Solar Power videos, it takes place on the beach.

Lorde has released a simple but beautifully scenic new video for “Leader of a New Regime,” a track off her most recent album, Solar Power.
Directed by Lorde and Joel Kefali, the video pairs the short, contemplative song with some stunning shots of a seaside location. There are plenty of gorgeous landscapes, but the video is tinged with some hits of the surreal, like two horseback riders emerging from the ocean and a lingering shot of a mirror situated in the sand, reflecting the surf back at itself as the tide rises.

Lorde breaks out the burning sage and sandalwood fragrance on “Mood Ring,” the latest single from her upcoming album Solar Power.
Like her other offerings from the LP, “Mood Ring” is a mellow acoustic track with only the faintest hint of percussion. In the lyrics, Lorde talks of sun salutations and finding one’s inner peace: “I’m tryna get well from the inside/Plants and celebrity news/All the vitamins I consume/Let’s fly somewhere eastern, they’ll have what I need.”

The wait is over: On Thursday evening, timed with the solar eclipse, Lorde released her new single “Solar Power” with a music video and announced her highly anticipated third album of the same name.
Her first new music since 2017, “Solar Power” is a track co-written and co-produced with Jack Antonoff that sounds tailor-made for lounging on the beach. With its acoustic guitar, bongo drums, and groovy vibes, it bears a resemblance to both George Michael’s “Freedom! ’90” and Antonoff’s production on the St. Vincent album Daddy’s Home, released last month.

Here’s your mid-week nostalgia fix, courtesy of tUnE-yArDs.
Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, that wonderfully weird cult kids show of the late ’80s, serves as inspiration for the band’s “Water Fountain” music video, and it’s quite charming. While not an exact recreation of Pee-Wee Herman’s sweet digs, the play land coming from the brains of tUnE-yArDs’ frontwoman Merrill Garbus and director Joel Kefali pays technicolor homage to that Sphinx-topped abode of yore. There are puppets, a cooking segment, and even a Chairy-like couch and dancing robot, a la Conky. Take a look:
