Note: This story contains spoilers from the “Riverdale” series finale.
After seven seasons of chaotic storytelling, time travel and musical episodes, the CW bid farewell to “Riverdale” with a touching and somber finale Wednesday night. Appropriately titled “Chapter One Hundred Thirty-Seven: Goodbye, Riverdale,” the installment featured a return to the present day before one last trip down a grief-stricken memory lane.
Before we get into the finale, the penultimate episode established that Angel Tabitha (Erinn Westbrook) announced she’d blended the multiverse into the 1950s timeline and restored the good memories of the Riverdale teens’ present day lives, leaving them in the 1950s to help change the world for the better. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) chose to keep both the good and the bad memories in secret.

Lexi Underwood, Sadie Stanley, and Griffin Gluck in ‘Cruel Summer’ season 2 episode 9 (Freeform/Justine Yeung)
We’re down to the wire with just two episodes to go on the second season of Freeform’s Cruel Summer, and the suspense over what happened to Luke is incredibly intense. Season two episode nine, “The Miseducation of Luke Chambers,” takes place in the fall and winter of 1999 as well as early January 2000.
Luke (Griffin Gluck) sits down and watches home video of himself and Megan as kids, hanging out with their families in the woods. Later, Luke is lounging in the pool when his brother, Brent (Braeden De La Garza), tries to drown him. Thankfully, it’s just a joke. That leads to Luke, Brent, and Steve (Paul Adelstein) reminiscing about Luke’s mom.
The school year begins, and Megan (Sadie Stanley), Isabella (Lexi Underwood), and Luke hang out, having grown closer over the summer.

Sadie Stanley and Griffin Gluck in ‘Cruel Summer’ season 2 episode 1 (Freeform/Justine Yeung)
Although season one of Freeform’s Cruel Summer ended with a cliffhanger, season two focuses on new characters and a brand-new storyline. The action begins in the summer of 1999 with Megan (Sadie Stanley) and her mom, Debbie Landry (KaDee Strickland), talking about someone named Isabella coming to stay with them. Megan doesn’t seem pleased, but her mom thinks it would be good for her to have a female friendship.

Spencer MacPherson as Xavier in ‘School Spirits’ season 1 episode 6 (Photo Credit: Ed Araquel / Paramount+)
Although Paramount+’s School Spirits episode five ended with Maddie and Simon discovering a secret way out of the basement, episode six begins with a heated discussion about jocks. Simon (Kristian Flores) can’t believe Maddie (Peyton List) said yes to going to the homecoming dance with Wally. If Maddie was still alive, she wouldn’t be caught dead on a date with a football player.
Maddie, understandably, wants to steer the conversation back to her murder.
All this is going on as Claire (Rainbow Wedell) and her minions are gossiping about Xavier over lunch. Her girls don’t know that she and Xavier were hooking up, and Claire seems to be paving the way for a public display of affection by responding to his text. She shocks Xavier (Spencer Macpherson) by agreeing to go with him to homecoming.
