Amazon Studios has greenlit its first scripted comedy in Germany, while the streamer has also lined up an adaptation of Sebastian Fitzek’s debut novel The Therapy.
Warner Bros. International Television will make Love Addicts, an eight-part series slated for 2022 telling the story of the adventurous, turbulent, and fun dating behavior of four young misfits.

Pola Beck is directing the feature, which is based on the novel from Olga Grjasnowa and adapted by Burkhardt Wunderlich and Beck. The project re-unites a handful of the creatives behind Beck’s 2012 drama Breaking Horizons.
The German, English and Hebrew-language film charts a young woman’s quest for independence and herself. After her boyfriend becomes critically ill, Mascha re-evaluates her path and decides to leave her previous life behind. But it’s only by returning home that she can find peace.
Distributing in Germany will be Port Au Prince, whose recent releases include Berlin Film Festival 2019 hit System Crasher and Abel Ferrara’s Siberia.

Wild Bunch TV is set to launch three new series, “Crisis Unit,” “Fragile” and “We Are Now,” at MIPCOM and the Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo (Mia) in Rome.
Created and directed by Jacob Berger, “Crisis Unit” is a political thriller set in the murky underworld of the humanitarian industry in Yemen. Starring Isabelle Caillat and André Dussollier, it explores the complexity of humanitarian work through the eyes of an inexperienced young woman suddenly thrust into a geopolitical crisis. It tells the story of two families—the wealthy, influential Bachands and the salt-of-the-earth Coutures—suddenly rocked by a pair of mysterious deaths. “Fragile” is produced by Amalga Productions for Ici.
