Lewis Compton

Lewis Compton was a radio announcer and Sales Manager of WHEE Radio in Martinsville, Virginia and also the track announcer at the Martinsville Speedway for 44 years where he was known as "The Mouth of the South." Lewis started his 52-year broadcasting career at another Martinsville radio station, WMVA. He also wrote country and bluegrass songs for such artists as Hank Thompson and Alison Krauss.
