Guillermo Alejandro Vázquez was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where he obtained a BFA from Tufts University and continued his MFA in Cinema at San Francisco State University. He has been presented with numerous awards and nominations, including: Best Short Film at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts Film and Video Annual (2004), Official Selection at the IV Boston Film Census (2004), Roxbury International Film Festival (2005), Boston Latino International Film Festival (2005), San Juan Cinema Fest (2006), Rincon International Film Festival (2014), The Puerto Rico International Short Film Festival, Cinefiesta (2014), and The V Latin-American Short Film Festival, Cortópolis (2014). He is currently a professor at the School of Fine Arts and Design of Puerto Rico. In 2009 Guillermo founded the Puerto Rico Film Society (PRFS), with the mission of promoting and educating audiences in the seventh art. PRFS has been very successful in partnering with internationally renowned organizations such as The Sundance Institute and The Global Film Initiative.
