Sydney based post production company Fsm have launched a short animation titled Rusty in an effort to showcase their growing skills in animated 3D.

Rusty is self-funded film and reminiscent of Pixar’s lamp, Luxo. Rusty is a robot who lives in a warehouse, Rusty by name, rusty nature – his 1900′s industrial revolution look is suitably aged by flaking paint and rust which were given detail by Z-brush.
All plates for the light-hearted film were shot with the Canon 5D on location at Cockatoo Island, capturing colour and raw details with a range of lenses.
The film was directed by Andreas Wanda, animator Andy Sutton.
In a statement, Fsm managing director Rick Schweikert said, “We wanted Rusty to showcase one of the many styles of animation we can produce utilising our upgraded technology combined with the talent of our expanded team.
