"Think about finally having everything you've always wanted!" Warner Bros has debuted the first official trailer for Wonder Woman 1984, the highly anticipated sequel to Patty Jenkins' massively successful first Wonder Woman movie (from 2017). This trailer just premiered at Brazil's Comic-Con (Ccxp) during a big presentation, and has arrived online for everyone else to enjoy. Once again directed by Patty Jenkins, this sequel takes us right into the 80s - but not much is known about the plot beyond that. Gal Gadot returns as Diana Prince, also known as "Wonder Woman", with a cast featuring Chris Pine, Pedro Pascal, Kristen Wiig, Connie Nielsen, Gabriella Wilde, Kristoffer Polaha, Lyon Beckwith, Natasha Rothwell, Oakley Bull, and Robin Wright. This looks pretty good! The best part of this trailer is the lightning lasso moment, or also the look on Pine's face when the truck flips over. And I really enjoy that music choice,...

Poldark creator Debbie Horsfield has lifted the lid on the final season of the British period drama, which will air in 2019.
Horsfield has opened up about her approach to the fifth and final season of the Mammoth Screen-produced drama after BBC and PBS confirmed its end. This comes ahead of the launch of the fourth season, which launches on PBS Masterpiece on Sunday September 30 at 9pm.
Poldark is based on twelve novels by Winston Graham; season four is based on the seventh novel, The Angry Tide. However, the author left a gap of ten years before the eighth novel, The Stranger from the Sea.
Horsfield, who has written every episode of the four series, said, “In The Stranger from the Sea, Winston Graham made many references to developments that happened in the gap years. Much can also be inferred. There are, of course, also historical events and people of the time,...

Today, Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins showed off Pedro Pascal in character, but which one that is remains up in the air.
Dressed in a three-piece-pin-striped suit of the era, Pascal sits in the back of a car, looking dead-on into the camera.

Social media denizens are guessing that Pascal is portraying Maxwell Lord, who funded and co-founded The Justice League. He eventually degraded from businessman to a guy with mind-controlling powers. Things got so bad that Wonder Woman had to kill Maxwell, so she could free Superman from his mental grip. However, Pascal’s role remains under wraps in the film.
Last week it was reported that Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, and Gabriella Wilde were joining Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Pascal in Wonder Woman 1984.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from Season 3, Episode 3 of “Poldark.”]
After such an eventful premiere — which, to be fair, was actually Episodes 1 and 2 together — Sunday’s latest “Poldark” was an exercise in frustration. The majority of the action was literally about people waiting: Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) in France waiting on word from an informant about his friend Dwight Enys (Luke Norris), who’s gone missing while out at sea, and their wives waiting to hear back about their respective fates abroad. “How frustrating is a woman’s lot,” Dwight’s wife Caroline (Gabriella Wilde) laments to Ross’ better half Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson). Ah, if only being left i were the worst of it in an episode that highlighted the gender inequities of the time.
The other source of frustration was with how poorly the female characters are being used, with only a few exceptions. As with “Downton Abbey,” one of the worst positions to be in for a woman is servitude,...

For Season 3, “Poldark” had to pull itself out of the mire of bitterness and betrayal that plagued the end of last season, when the series’ hero tarnished his sterling character with infidelity. The central romance suffered as a result, and still stings in the hearts of both his faithful spouse and viewers.
And for the most part, it does appear that Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) is keeping his word to his wife Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) this season, although a shadow cools their once sizzling-hot romance. The season begins several months since last season, enough time for his old flame and one-night affair Elizabeth (Heida Reed) to be ready to pop out a baby any second. And while the passage of time has allowed Ross and Demelza to reconnect, it has only allowed toxicity to bloom in Elizabeth. Not only is she still angry at Ross for bedding and then jilting her,...

In the original Independence Day, a young Mae Whitman played the president's adorable (and ridiculously resilient, given what happened to her mom) daughter. Bill Pullman has already agreed to reprise his role as President Whitmore, and given that Whitmore's daughter is reportedly Liam Hemsworth's character's love interest in the film, most fans assumed that meant Whitman would return, too. But as a weary fighter pilot might say after punching out an alien, welcome to Hollywood: Fox has recast the role with It Follows star Maika Monroe for unknown reasons. (According to The Hollywood Reporter, actresses like Gabriella Wilde and Britt Robertson were also considered.) Understandably, Whitman's fans are upset — including her Scott Pilgrim co-star Anna Kendrick:And judging from Mae's response, it would appear the decision to recast her wasn't exactly mutual: She's also retweeted a story critical of the recast. Vulture has reached out to Fox for comment...

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Monroe auditioned for the part alongside the likes of Lucy Boynton, Merritt Patterson, Gabriella Wilde and Britt Robertson.
Last week, Joey King informed fans that the sequel would begin shooting very soon, after posting a picture of herself at an airport with Emmerich and two of the film's producers.
Independence Day 2 will be released in 2016 to mark the 20th anniversary of the sci-fi blockbuster, which starred Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum.
Goldblum is reprising the role of environmentalist David Levinson for the sequel, but Smith will not be back.

After testing for the role, Kaya Scodelario has landed the female lead role in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” the fifth installment in the popular Disney pirate franchise. Johnny Depp reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, while Scodelario will play opposite Brenton Thwaites, cast as the new male lead in the film. Scodelario chemistry-tested with Thwaites in December and beat out the likes of Gabriella Wilde, Lucy Boynton, Jenna Thiam and Alexandra Dowling for the role, which is still unspecified. Thwaites plays Henry, a British soldier, while Javier Bardem is also on board as the [...]

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is making more headway on the casting front. Recent reports were showing five women in the running for a co-starring role in the next installment of the franchise, titled Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, but today it looks like they've made big steps forward with regards to narrowing that playing field, and are apparently in talks with Kaya Scodelario. The Maze Runner actress Kaya Scodelario, who was of the five women already rumored for a coveted position alongside Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow, has now, according to Deadline, entered the "early talks" stage with the studio. Prior to today, she was on a list with four others, including French actress Jenna Thiam (The Returned), Lucy Boynton (Miss Potter), Game of Thrones actress Alexandra Dowling, and Gabriella Wilde (Endless Love, the 2013 remake of Carrie). Scodelario hails from the UK, where she...

Disney is taking its time with the upcoming fifth installment of its massively successful Pirates series, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, hopefully because the studio recognized the need to reorient the franchise after 2011’s middling On Stranger Tides. We’ve heard from Orlando Bloom that the fivequel may act as a soft reboot, and that many new actors will board the franchise in major parts. Now, we’ve learned that Disney is zeroing in on The Maze Runner actress Kaya Scodelario for the lead female role.
Scodelario, who starred on the popular British series Skins before making the lead to blockbuster fare in last fall’s dystopian Maze Runner, is in early talks for the gig, according to Deadline. No details yet on who she will play outside of that the character will serve as a love interest for recently cast Brenton Thwaites, but Scodelario seems...

Kaya Scodelairo ("The Maze Runner") is reportedly in early talks to take on the female lead role in the upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" at Disney Pictures.
Scodelairo was mentioned last month as one of five finalists for the role alongside Lucy Boynton, Alexandra Dowling, Jenna Thiam and Gabriella Wilde. Should she sign, she is expected to play the main love interest for Brenton Thwaites' character. Thwaites plays a British soldier who teams up with Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp).
Hints came last month that Orlando Bloom may return as Will Turner, who took on the mantle of Davy Jones at the end of the third film. They also suggested Thwaites may play the son of Bloom and Knightley's characters.
Thwaites seemed to confirm the reports in an interview with The Mirror last week saying the film "is about a young man who wants to reconnect with his father,...

Ansel Elgort's successful and grounded! The sexy "Divergent" star covers the new issue of Town & Country's "Top 50 Bachelors," where he opens up about his start in Hollywood. Photographed by his father, Arthur Elgort, the new issue examines the 20-year-old's rapid success in showbiz. During his audition for "Carrie," Elgort tried to plant a kiss on Gabriella Wilde, who played his on-screen girlfriend in the horror flick. "You don't typically kiss in an audition. I don't know why he did it. Either he really felt it and wanted to kiss her, or he felt entitled to, or he didn't know you don't normally do that," director Kimberly Peirce tells the mag, referencing her casting decision. The "Carrie" director also says that Ansel reminded her a lot of Channing Tatum during their first encounter. "It's hard to find someone who is handsome who you genuinely feel is a good guy," she explains.

According to a new report from Comicbookmovie.com and their sources, Orlando Bloom, who starred in the first three "Pirates of The Caribbean" movies, is claiming that this 5th installment, may just be a total reboot all together, and that he's currently in talks to come back to the franchise. Orlando told the press: "I’m not entirely sure that I'll be back just yet, but there are talks. Basically, they want to reboot the whole franchise, I think, and do something with me and the relationship with my son. I’m of course Davey Jones now, so I’m down the bottom of the ocean. It might be kind of fun to do something where I’m rumbling round the bottom of the ocean, because I won’t look anything like me." Additionally, it's also reported that five young actresses are currently auditioning to play the love interest for Thwaites' character.

The fifth Pirates of the Carribbean film in Disney’s cash-cow franchise could be a reboot. The news comes from an interview IGN did with Orlando Bloom. Earlier this year the actor revealed that he has been in talks with the studio to reprise his role as Will Turner. Disney is almost done casting the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean. The studio is looking to cast the female lead and they've narrowed their search down to five actress including Kaya Scodelaria (Skins, The Maze Runner) and Gabriella Wilde (Endless Love, Carrie).

Disney is reportedly looking to test a handful of girls over the next week for the last major role in its next instalment of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise.
The part will essentially be the female lead of the action-adventure, and the love interest for the British soldier to be played by young Australian hunk Brenton Thwaites.
The list includes the likes of Lucy Boynton ("Miss Potter"), Kaya Scodelario ("The Maze Runner"), Gabriella Wilde ("Endless Love"), Alexandra Dowling ("The Musketeers") and Jenna Thiam ("The Returned"). There are others as well, but those names haven't been revealed.
The studio will do chemistry tests with Thwaites and the girls to see who best fits the role, and details about the part remain decidedly vague. Astrid Berges-Frisbey played the equivalent in the last film, a captive mermaid who falls for a missionary (Sam Claflin).

Billed as a “multi-levelled story with tension and twists at all turns”, Squatters is a debut feature from actor-come-writer Justin Shilton. Set in southern California, Squatters begins by showing the perspective of Jonas (Thomas Dekker) and Kelly (Gabriella Wilde), two grimy young homeless teens.
Opening scenes of Kelly and Jonas fretting over scoring weed, rooting through dumpsters and shop-lifting are supposed to elicit sympathy but do little to arouse any form of empathy for lead characters’ situations – especially after the self-indulgent slowed-down beach party scene. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure my friend – especially if that man is a rich prick,” jeers Jonas, again doing little to improve his likability.

Endless Love Blu-ray Youthful love is a common trope in cinema, and when done correctly, can feel timely, eternal and touching. When not done correctly, it can end up like the 2014 remake of Endless Love, a tale of two lovebirds that consistently feels aged, stilted and inappropriate. Endless Love stars Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde as David and Jade, two high school seniors who barely know one another. Jade.s a lot like Say Anything.s Diane.she.s close to her family but barely rates on the high school popularity scale. However, David.s quite enthralled with her and does what he can to expand her world, even though she.s from the upper crust and he.s from a blue collar family. While Pettyfer and Wilde actually capably bring an affection to the screen, the stock characters and unfortunate dialogue don.t compare well with today.s teen...

Why We're In: This disturbing indie got great reviews, but it's definitely not for everyone. If you like your gore with a side of sly political commentary, this could be your jam.
