When Amazon’s “The Boys” debuts its fourth season next month, things are shaping up to be crazier than the time they blew up a whale and that other time they blew up a giant penis, as it seems Butcher (Karl Urban) and Homelander (Antony Starr) are ready to burn their whole lives down — and take everyone else with them.
In “The Boys” Season 4 trailer, Butcher reveals to Hughie (Jack Quaid), Starlight (Erin Moriarty) and the rest of the Boys that time is running out for him, and with the few numbered days he and his weakened heart have left, he’s looking to unleash a deadly virus on the supe community. To get the job done, Butcher has teamed up with new character, played by “Supernatural” alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who seems to want supes wiped out entirely as soon as possible to save humanity.

Spoiler Alert: The final question in this interview includes a spoiler for the Season 3 finale of “The Boys.”
“I love Boimler,” says “Star Trek: Lower Decks” star Jack Quaid of his adorably hapless character Brad Boimler. “I love him so much.”
Quaid’s third season voicing the Starfleet ensign launched on Paramount+ on Thursday, but as Quaid and co-star Tawny Newsome (who voices Ens. Beckett Mariner) announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July, both actors will get to play the roles in live-action for the first time in a Season 2 episode of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” in 2023. The actor explained to Variety how the episode was possible, why he’s proud of Boimler in Season 3 of “Lower Decks,” how his character on “The Boys” will react to the big reveal in the Season 3 finale and what he did for the cast of “The Boys” spinoff series “Gen V.”

Oi! Did you hear that the fourth season of "The Boys" is officially in production? If not, then congratulations; everyone's favorite anti-superhero television show will be back for a new season, and it could come sooner than you think. With production on both the main series and its college-based spinoff, "Gen V," underway, "Boys" showrunner Eric Kripke revealed the title for the fourth season premiere in a Twitter post.
Simply captioned "Day One," the tweet revealed that the premiere is being handled by two mainstays of the series; it was written by season 3 writer and producer David Reed, while also being directed by "The Only Man in the Sky" helmer Phil Sgriccia. However, what many fans might find intriguing is the season 4 premiere's title, "Department of Dirty Tricks." If you think you've heard that name before, it's probably because you know a thing or two about government conspiracies. That title...

The Writers Guild of America has just announced the nominations for their annual awards for Best Screenplays (by writers who are guild signatories). That’s right, before you get nervous thinking that your favorite may have been left off the list, you must remember that the WGA is the group that is not all-inclusive and leaves out several of the top contenders each year due to them not being part of the guild or not following their very specific rules. For this reason, you won’t see Inside Out, The Hateful Eight, and Ex Machina in the Original Screenplay category or Room, Brooklyn, or Anomalisa in the Adapted screenplay category.
Taking a look at what’s left over for the nominations, we find many that were expected to make a showing, including Spotlight and Bridge of Spies for Original Screenplay, though they apparently had to sink to really low depths...

Revolution fans that have been petitioning for the series to come back, we have some good news for you: closure is on its way. While the cancelled NBC series is not returning to TV screens to finish out its story, it will be telling the final chapters of its tale in a digital comic book from DC Comics. Working alongside DC is Revolution‘s entire creative team, which includes series creator Eric Kripe, along with executive producers J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk, Rockne S. O’Bannon, and Jon Favreau. The four chapters of the comic were all written by Revolution scribes David Reed and Ryan Parrott but only after the stories had been crafted with the entire creative team. In every war, there are casualties. The fight between the rebel forces and the Patriots has been no different in this regard, as was driven home in the last episode with the death of Jason Neville. Jason’s death is the biggest blow delivered by the Patriots this week, a blow compounded by the fact that the fatal shot was fired by Charlie. This week’s episode sees Charlie try to come to terms with having to shoot dead someone she knew, in a compelling outing that further cements the threat that the nanobots present.

The latest computer game to be turned into a movie is the best selling game from ‘Company of Heroes’. It’s a real-time strategy game in which you have to navigate your soldiers tanks across maps in order to defeat your enemies coming in at your front the opposite direction.
The new movie has a very Band of Brothers feel to it and actually has one character from that series playing the same role in the movie. Company of Heroes is released on DVD today and stars Tom Sizemore (Black Hawk Down, Saving Private Ryan), Chad Collins (Lake Placid 2, Sniper Reloaded), Vinnie Jones (The Tomb, Snatch), Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger, “Band of Brothers”), and Jürgen Prochnow (The Da Vinci Code, Das Boot).

When it comes to reviewing a Part 4, I often like to start out with a quick and hopefully helpful little "franchise history lesson," just to bring everyone up to speed -- but is that really necessary at this point? Probably not. What was once a strange but amusing little matinee movie from a well-known TV producer has (somehow, slowly) turned into a cable TV sequel franchise that exists for nothing more than to fill a random Saturday night slot with a lot of silliness and a bunch of crocodile madness. Congrats to the goofily-named Lake Placid 4: it not only qualifies under those criteria, it's also the most stupidly entertaining entry in this non-franchise since the first one... which wasn't all that great but hey, people who love movies about man-eating crocodiles* can't afford to be all that discerning. But for the sake of tradition: Lake Placid (1999), written by David E. Kelley...

*spoiler alert Director: Jeffery Scott Lando. Writer: David Reed. Cast: Eddie McClintock, Amy Bailey and Christian Hammerdorfer. SyFy Network must have decided that no tagline is required with a title like the Boogeyman. This latest offering does not really stand out from a line of films that includes a version from Stephen King and Stephen Kay. If one isn’t enough, apparently Kay’s version was interesting enough to spawn two more films. Just how one amorphous creature managed to spawn into a huge line of unrelated films is as perplexing as this latest incarnation. With what writer David Reed tries to do is to relate the legend of Cain and Abel, Adam and Eve’s first children, into the lore of what kinds of monsters can torment young adults if they do not behave. His tale does not instill the fear of God amongst the masses. When Sheriff Michael’s (Eddie McClintock) two sons,...

Despite the apparent serious nature of the October 29 new episode of Supernatural (as evidence in the promo and a sneak peek we previously posted), it looks like we’ll be getting some humor, as you can see in the sneak peek from Canada’s Space Channel below. Oh, Bobby, can you ever fail to make us laugh? Likely not. Although, truth be told, I always suspected there was more to Bobby than meets the eye. After all, a guy who spends that much time at home has to have some extra-curricular activities. And you just know they went beyond what we saw in “Weekend at Bobby’s”. Of course Bobby watches horrible reality shows and gets pedicures. Only Jim Beaver could sell it like that.

If you watched last week’s episode of Supernatural, then you know something is seriously wrong with Sam (if you missed it, read our recap here). On the October 29 new episode, we are hopefully going to get closer to understanding what’s going on with Sam. Dean, no longer a vampire and deeply suspicious of his brother, seeks help from both Bobby and Cas to discover what’s going on. When people are cursed with having to tell the truth, he also demands answers from Sam himself.
We’ve already posted promo photos and a trailer for the upcoming episode and now The CW has released a sneak peek. It looks like Dean is back to dealing with stress with his old proven methods – drinking excessively, making threats and being broody.

The situation between the brothers come to what looks like a violent head in the October 29 new episode of Supernatural. If you missed the most recent episode “Live Free or Twi-hard”, you can read our review here. In the October 29 episode Dean reveals to Bobby that Sam allowed him to be turned into a vampire and then confronts his brother when the brothers stumble upon a truth curse. Sam may not respond, or he may not give Dean answers that he likes – but either way, there’s a Winchester boxing match coming our way.

Did you miss tonight’s episode? If so, read our recap and review. If you didn’t miss it, then you probably managed to catch the rather long “Soon” montage that we got, which actually features clips from the next three episodes of the season. In the October 15 episode, Bobby and Rufus reappear, and much of the episode centers around Bobby and his deal with Crowley over his soul. Bobby runs into some trouble trying to get Crowley to honor his promise to return the soul he bargained away in the final days of the Apocalypse. After that, we’ll see Supernatural take a shot at the recent vampire popularity and then cracks in the brothers’ relationship will show again when they go on a search for the Truth.
Below are the episode summaries for the next three new episodes, as well as the sneak peeks. You can also view...

Every so often an original Supernatural novel comes out. Usually they contain stand-alone cases for the boys to solve. They generally fit into the overall timeline of the show (and there’s usually continuity), but they’re typically independent stories.

Bolstering its "Saturday movies" slate for 2010, SyFy announced a slew of original movies that are now in the works. Keeping the killer crocodile sub-genre alive, the network is shepherding Lake Placid 3 . Another sequel spun off from Steve Miner's 1999 film written by David E. Kelly. In the threequel, Colin Ferguson (of Eureka , so SyFy is keeping the casting in the family) stars as a game warden who relocates to his aunt's cabin on Lake Placid with his wife and their young son move into their aunt's cabin on Lake Placid. His kid starts to feed the local baby croc population and they grow up to be hungry. Kirsty Mitchell and Yancy Butler co-star. David Reed penned this entry. He also wrote the Supernatural...
