We're back in Greece and Dominique is psyched to be the dark horse in the competition. She says that while she misses her children — who are absolutely adorable — she's doing this for them and hopes to bring home the All Star title.
Wait, I take back my previous statement about the location of the models. Some of the girls are in Greece and Angelea is still stuck on Get A Clue Island. She's so confused about why she keeps getting stuck in the bottom two while Dominique hasn't been there once. She also insists that Dominique is not an All Star. Homegirl needs to get her eyes checked and take a look at their pictures again. She also needs to listen to all of the previous comments from the judges because they keep waiting for her to be great on camera. I'm fed up with her nonstop boasting when she's...

We're down to the Top 5 on America's Next Top Model so the pressure is really on. Dominique thinks she is the dark horse because a lot of the others didn't think she would be here. Angelea privately agrees, saying that she thinks she is stronger than Dominique and doesn't get "all-star" from her. Laura thinks Angelea needs to gain confidence and says that she is very guarded, while Lisa calls Allison her toughest competition despite her personal opinion that she looks dead. First up this week is a potentially explosive challenge overseen by Miss J. The girls have to judge each other on their walks, portfolios and overall star quality, which predictably ends in fireworks when Miss J quizzes everyone on who they think should be leaving the competition this week. Laura refuses to answer, as does Allison and Lisa, but Dominique decides that honesty (more)...

It’s getting down to the wire! With just five girls left in the house, tensions were running high for all involved in "Exploring Greece." When Mr. Jay announced that the girls had to critique one another for the challenge, you could just feel that fuse burning.
Sure enough, Angelea thew a fit when Dominique passionately announced that the former was the weakest link in the house. It probably came as a shock to Angelea because all the girls (making history of Antm) magnanimously announced that no one is less deserving than anyone else.
Although Dominique and sweet Laura attempted to help Angelea, she stormed out and was coaxed back only by Mr. Jay. Maybe it’s because I adore Laura and she seemed genuine, but I thought Angelea completely overreacted. Does anyone think that girls were simply trying to throw her off her game?

America's Next Top Model: All-Stars 17.10 "Exploring Greece" Review
So...we're all in agreement that Angelea is winning this thing, right?
A pre-ordained win has to be the only explanation for the outcome of "Exploring Greece", which saw 716 dispatch Dominique to move into the top 4, because if the judges genuinely think that Angelea is emotionally ready/talented enough to handle the rigors of winning Top Model: Rednecks, Party Girls, Chickenheads, and Allison, they are more out of touch than I realized. I don't have anything against Angelea, per se, in that I understand that her big personality, emotional backstory, and passable portfolio make for good reality TV. I laugh at her one-liners and appreciate how uninhibited she seems to be, but there is no way in the world that she deserved to stay tonight. Dominique took better pictures, had a better runway walk, was more professional in her attitude/personal style,...

We start out back from judging and the "America's Next Top Model" girls are apparently turning into catty monsters (like they haven't been already, right?). Angelea can't believe she's been in the Bottom 2 and Dominique hasn't. Lisa thinks her biggest competition is Allison - "She blinks and [the judges] freak out ... I think she looks like she's, like, dead."
Nice, ladies.
Challenge
The challenge has them critiquing each other. There is not a lot of constructive criticism, mostly just random I-don't-like-this stuff, with no real reasoning behind it. But Then. Miss Jay asks them to say who doesn't deserve to be there. Laura, Allison and Lisa all take the Miss Congeniality route and say there is no one who doesn't deserve to be there. Dominique then busts out that Angelea is lacking in confidence and isn't owning her all-star-ness. It's actually a nice speech about how Dominique sees potential in Angelea and thinks she can give more.

So, in addition to the music videos the girls of "America's Next Top Model" all-stars made during the cycle, Lisa D'Amato and Dominque Reighard have released music videos for their own projects outside the show. Check them out.
Lisa's video is for the song "Soldier" off her album "Flippin' the Bird," which is available on iTunes now. That is So what Lisa would title her album. Dominique's "On Top the World" does not appear to be off of an album, but you can still pick up the single at her website.
We have to say - is it just us, or is Dominique like unrecognizable in her video? Weird. Let us know what you think of the music. And also - are you disappointed there's no "Pot Ledom" involved?...

America's Next Top Model: All-Stars 17.09 "Nikos Papadopolous" Review
America's Next Top Model: All-Stars seemingly turned a corner last week with its music video extravaganza, which was on the right side of the show's self-aware campiness and provided a surprising amount of listenable tunes. (Confession: I've caught myself singing "I Be Like Whoa" multiple times since the episode aired.) I've managed to stick with the all-star cycle through awful challenges, incoherent judging, and an array of mixed messages about what this season was actually about (spoiler alert: not modeling), so in the back of my mind, I thought this would be the point where the show really ramped up.
Apparently I haven't been paying attention to the last 16 cycles of Top Model, as All-Stars reverted right back to the foolishness the second the girls headed to Greece. One would think that the show would capitalize on the scenic beaches...

The "America's Next Top Model" girls head to Greece, to be part of a Greek salad for their photoshoot. Yes, really.
Greece is the Word
The girls find out it's time to head to Greece. Before they leave, Lisa makes some snotty comments about Allison and how she (Lisa) is more the whole package. You're just mad you got beat at the music video contest, Lisa.
They have a challenge on the flight to Crete where they have to prepare a one-minute speech that includes a bunch of Greek words. No huge surprise that Angelea thinks she'll just wing it. Because if it's memorized it won't have her flavor or something.
Allison rocks it and wins the challenge. Most of the girls really biff it. Poor Laura is so awkward and hardly uses any Greek. She's hilarious. Angelea hardly uses any Greek and then makes a bathroom joke. Oh lordy.

Are you glad you went back for another cycle of "Top Model"?
"Yeah, you know, I would definitely regret if I said I wasn't. I did it for my fans and I did it for myself, so I'm really happy with that decision. I feel like you can always learn from every decision that you make. I learned a lot, just like Cycle 16. I will use everything I learned to my advantage now in the real world."
Were you surprised to get the call for All Stars? You couldn't have been off of Cycle 16 for very long when it came.

On "America's Next Top Model," I thought the music video challenge was going to be a trainwreck, but it turns out I was wrong.
The Challenge
Some Madison girl is on the Tyra Mail screen giving make-up tips. I'm sorry, but I work on the internet and I have no idea who this is. Hmm. It turns out the challenge is writing a song and starring in a music video. Um, yikes. This so unfair for the girls who aren't musically inclined. And it's not something a non-musically-inclined person would even care about doing. *headsmack*
Angelea comments, "We're going to be shooting a music video and it will be viral." You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. Jay then says, "This can totally change your life. Think how going viral worked for Rebecca Black and Justin Bieber." Um, first of all...

After trying to get past the shock and astonishment of last week's double elimination, which included head diva Bianca's departure, we started to wonder who would entertain us on America's Next Top Model for the remainder of the season? Um, hello. What a stupid question. Lisa's still here! Songwriting Sirens: The ladies got hit with a musical challenge this week, when they were asked to write lyrics to tracks that were put together for each of them. Oh, did we mention they only had 20 minutes? The fierce competitors received a little bit of help from music producer Tom Polce, who ultimately chose the challenge winner based off their writing skills. Lisa was chosen, which not only meant that...

Some of the other girls have complained about what was pitched to them versus what the season turned out to be. Do you have the same complaints?
"I'm sure you don't want to hear mine. We were told it would be branding and then instead it was 'Antm' Cycle 17."
What were you expecting when you thought there would be more branding involved?
"More stuff like the perfurme challenge, more things that. Things you can actually associate to a brand, not so much like modeling challenges.

We've seen a lot of crazy things so far this season on America's Next Top Model: All-Stars. A Lot of crazy things, from aspirational hot dogs to perfume-scented bathtub parties. But next Wednesday's photoshoot-less episode may be the craziest one yet, as the remaining all-stars must each write and sing an original song, and then star in a music video for that song, directed by rapper Game (formerly The Game).
Below, check out two sneak peeks from the girls' music videos, and these two couldn't be more different: First, it's Lisa's spastic, Ke$ha-esque sing-talking song, "I Be Like Whoa!" Then, check out Shannon's softer, sweeter song, "World Go Round." Oh, and if you thought Tyra could resist infusing every video with her insane presence and love for nonsense-words, well ... you don't know Tyra.

So I'll admit I was a bit too dazed by the appearance of cute New England Patriot Julian Edelman to give my recap of Coco's guest judging episode of Antm: All-Stars my full attention last night. (Call me!)

It's a double elimination on "America's Next Top Model" week, where they have what is maybe the most ridiculous photoshoot of all time (and that is saying something).
The Challenge
The girls are at the Roosevelt Hotel to design their own fragrance. Ooh, that's awesome. I would really get into that challenge. Lisa names her scent "Neon," Laura goes with "Love," Dominique goes with "Survivor," Shannon names hers "Smitten," Angelea names hers "Angelea" (of coruse she does, Angelea rules), Allison names hers "Honey Blood," Kayla's is "Free" (again, snoooooze), Bianca's is "Candid" and Alexandria's is "Diamondatrix." Huh.
I wish these were for sale because I really want to smell them all. I feel like I would like Allison's just because I love her and I'm kind of a big weirdo like her. But who knows? I want to smell them!

Once a reality show has been in the trenches for a few weeks, its contestants are bound to get a little frustrated. Even the most seasoned of reality famewhore can get a little tired of the constant grind that the medium requires: the inane challenges, the leading questions that you just know will be edited strangely, the lack of any proper distractions in television or the internet. After the show has gotten through its first few weeks and worn down the optimism to a nice, crisp apathy, you get to see the claws come out.

The stupid Tyra twist is when a flag is thrown, you have to immediately strike a pose for the photographer. You win a spread on Tyra's website and some jewelry. The winning team splits $5000 between the two charities represented...

Last week's episode of America's Next Top Model: All-Stars may as well have been renamed The Bianca Show. When she wasn't sparring with Lisa, giving stinkface on the runway or accusing Shannon of having an "ugly soul," Bianca was plotting further conflicts and complaining that her fellow models were jealous of her, didn't respect her, and were out to get her. (If they weren't out to get her before, they sure are now.)
By the grace of Michael Jackson's memory and La Toya Jackson's kindness (plus the judges deeming Lisa and Angelea the worst photos of the week), Bianca escaped elimination, despite her multi-part, multi-enemy meltdown -- which means that tonight, we're in for another installment of the drama. Something tells me that if Bianca doesn't subdue the attitude, the panel won't be so forgiving next time.
Check out four deleted scenes from last week's tense episode:...

Another Wednesday night is here and my booty is firmly tooched on the couch for America's Next Top Model. The three of us (I'm assuming there's still three of us) have made it all the way to the Kardashian guest star appearance. Yay for us.
When we last were with the girls, Angelea won the challenge and now she is feeling supa dupa fly and in her solo interview she says the other girls better be scared because they underestimated her. She's ready to take over now.
Bre thought she'd be doing better since she's been working as a model professionally for the last six years but she's not doing as well as she'd like.
Lisa says we better hold on tight because she's about to unleash the crazy beast from inside. I can't wait because I am bored as hell.
Kayla and Bianca talk about how they didn't think...

Well, it’s about time!Tonight’s episode, "Latoya Jackson," gave us some good old-fashioned Antm meltdowns and the sort of drama that got me hooked on the show in the first place.
For some unknown reason, Shannon the Christian felt attacked by Bianca the Villain, setting the stage for a huge fight that somehow ended up involving the whole house. In the middle of it all was, of course, Lisa the Clown.
Bianca’s supreme confidence coupled with the other girls aligning against her put her at odds with the judges and everyone but Bre.Yes, Bianca, you are 6 ft tall, 120 lbs. and beautiful. Now make up your mind on whether you want to be on Antm because you can’t seem to stop whining!
The girls modeled for the Kardashian Kollection for their runway on a carousel challenge.Sisters Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney all showed up to support...

What do you get when you cross Latoya Jackson, the Kardashian sisters, and drag impersonations of an icon no longer with us?
Give up?
Me, too and apparently so has Top Model, as "Latoya Jackson" proved once and for all that the show has pretty much bailed on all sense of fashion legitimacy this go around. I don't know why I keep expecting America's Next Top Model: All-Stars to turn things around and become a beacon of couture realness, but once again, the reality in this reality competition series took over and we were subjected to an episode even loopier and tackier than usual.
It's not that the show was poor in idea. I don't mind the Kardashians stopping by, as they're at least involved in the fashion industry and they've been famous for long enough to where they could impart some decent knowledge how to handle yourself in the public eye.

We start things off Wednesday (Oct. 12) on "America's Next Top Model" with Bre and Lisa talking about how they need to step it up and how they're in danger, which leads me to predict they are the Bottom 2 tonight. Meanwhile, Bianca is all mopey and Dominique rightly points out you can never be above an opportunity, which is true.
A lot of the evicted models have been telling us in interviews that they were pitched something totally different for all-stars than what it turned out to be. But it's still face time on TV and a chance for something.
Now there is phone drama about calling their families. Shannon has a good idea about drawing spots for time and Bianca gets last. She has a problem with it, but she's not confrontational about it, but Shannon the "quiet Christian" kind of loses it. I don't love Bianca, but I'm with her on this one.

Tonight on America's Next Top Model: Two American royal families come to visit, and the girls learn a lesson about kindness and love. But not before they tear each other apart with jealousy and hatred.
Somehow, a few of our all-stars were under the impression that success in the outside world of modeling would translate to success in this freaky funhouse mirror world of modeling/acting/hot dog making. Bre, specifically, worries that she's not as pro as she thought she was, and thinks since she's been hovering toward the bottom every week, she's bound to drop through Tyra's trapdoor soon. Meanwhile Lisa takes all her criticism, ignores the parts that she doesn't like and ingests the rest, for the attention only makes her stronger. "Hold on tight, kids!" she warns us, because before she was just being herself, which is already high-levels crazy, and now she's consciously going for it.

Welcome back ladies and gents! If you've made it this far along the All Stars cycle of America's Next Top Model, you are a true warrior!
The episode begins with the girls coming back to the house and Angelea says she's going to work on showing herself more.
Lisa brings out the bottles of wine and reminds us she did a stint on Celebrity Rehab. I totally missed that season, but I'm thinking the networks are going to have to start redefining their takes on "Celebrity" "Stars" and "All Stars." Even though Lisa brought the booze out, she says she's not going to drink. She's going to keep her head focused.
The girls get some snail mail and while the younger contestants seem to be getting a lot of clothes and fun things from home, Camille gets a big box of work. She said she's been doing well but work...

As much as I've criticized America's Next Top Model: All-Stars this season for being a little more wackadoo than usual, I have to admit that "Anthony Zuiker" managed to keep the sense of fun that that best episodes of Top Model have while bringing some of the legitimacy that had been missing thus far in cycle 17.
I love a crazy photo shoot or funny challenge as much as the next guy, but this cycle had seemed to put on its absurd weave and forget about its high fashion sunglasses, in that the first three episodes were heavy on the silly and stupid and very light on anything resembling proper training for these girls. However, "Anthony Zuiker" brought both with a little bit of old school medical drama and I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.

Oh my, who says models aren't smart?
In "Anthony Zuiker," we got an early look at the most painful challenge that all Antm candidates face: memorizing lines. But double the pain because they had to memorize difficult (re: unpronounceable) medical jargon from CSI.
In almost every cycle of Antm to date, there was a medical mishap. In Cycle 6, Danielle suffered from food poisoning in Thailand; in Cycle 7, CariDee almost got hypothermia. This cycle it was Kayla with a serious headache.
After Kayla overdosed on ibuprofen, the poor thing had a “mini-heart attack” and was taken to the hospital.Thankfully, she returned to model mansion looking as good as new, even if she did look drained throughout the episode.
The actual CSI challenge was seriously painful to watch.Neosporin?Gas?Mass?Ass?These were just some of the words that the girls threw around as they attempted to pronounce "gas chromatograph mass spectrometer.

We'd love to write something clever but we're too consumed with trying to forgive ourselves for being aroused by Nancy Grace on DWTS. So let's just move through the shame cycle and get into the best of this week's Soup. 1. America's Next Top Model: The season's just kicked in, but already the judging is heating up. This week, hopeful Lisa comes under scrutiny for certain behavior that might have made her Germany's top model. In 1942. One down, four await. 2. Dancing With the Stars: As any fan of the Kardashian clan's television work can tell you, looks, talent and brains run in the family. Now Rob Kardashian proves boobs do too. 3. The Dr. Oz Show: What does it take to...

I'm not going to play, last night's episode of America's Next Top Model made me want this All Star cycle to be over with quickness. Not only am I over trying to suspend my disbelief that most of these girls were the chosen as "All Stars," but as of yesterday we found out Kelly Cutrone will be replacing Andre Leon Talley as a judge next season. Alright, I won't postpone this any longer, let's dive in.
As with the last two episodes, the girls are in the limo cab on their way back to the model house and are discussing the night's elimination results. Lisa says she was surprised she won. I don't know what kind of Toddlers and Tiaras thing she's got going on with her hair in these interview clips, but it needs to go.

Now that Tyra Banks has carefully culled her gaggle of thin, determined all stars from the cycles of past seasons, the competition to become America's Next Top Model almost seems real. In fact, the candidates are undergoing prodigious scrutiny from the panel of judges, particularly from the keen sensibilities of Brit fashion photographer Nigel Barker... Nor do I approve of the salute without the proper scissor kick. I mean, come on, Lisa.

America's Next Top Model: All Stars kicks off its third week with Kristin Cavallari making an unannounced arrival at the house for a quick chat with the girls about staying true to themselves, before everyone is off to meet Nigel Barker at The Grove where a Big elimination twist is waiting. After the girls split into two teams - Team 1: Lisa, Laura, Alexandria, Isis, Dominique and Angelea / Team 2: Bianca, Allison, Bre, Camille, Shannon and Kayla - Nigel says that they will be interviewed by Extra host Mario Lopez and the team that does the best will be exempt from elimination at panel. Wow. Team two are the winners which means Lisa, Laura, Alexandria, Dominique, Isis and Angelea are facing elimination. Allison is named the overall winner and her prize is having a proper interview with Extra. Angelea's not feeling too good about Nigel's comments (more)...

New cycle, new Tyra-ism. In "Kristin Cavallari," we learned the importance of the booty tooch and that Bianca is scared of Chihuahuas.
Compared to some of the other cycles, the models are relatively subdued thus far in their quarters. Yes, Angelea did have a pretty major meltdown after being critiqued by Nigel, but there was little to no sniping.Come on, Antm! I’ve come to expect more from the show that entertained me with stolen granolas (Bre), chicken lessons (Alexandria) and ummm, Uncle It (Lisa).
Allison was undoubtedly the star of the show, somehow managing to look utterly adorable with her animal hood, while charming Mario Lopez and Nigel during her Extra interview.
The photoshoot du jour involved balancing on some of the most elegant stilts ever. Bianca broke down yet again about her fear of heights, to which Lisa retorted that she was scared of everything. Camille made...

In addition to smizing and whatever other weird stuff Tyra Banks has made up over the years, "America's Next Top Model" has now given us "booty tooch."
Post-Panel
Allison is wearing an animal hood around the house and talking about how weird she is. Huh. The next morning, Kristin Cavallari shows up. Yet another random guest judge who will not offer anything constructive.
The Challenge
At The Grove in Los Angeles, the girls are going to be interviewed in groups by Mario Lopez (currently of that awful, awful show "H8R") or Alfred Clifford Slater, as he will always be known to me. Lisa and Bianca get to pick the teams, so it ends up Lisa, Laura, Lex, Isis, Dominique, Angelea and then Bianca, Allison, Bre, Camille, Shannon and Kayla. And then Nigel drops a bomb - the winning team is safe at judging. Wow. That is a lot of girls.

After winning best photo for showing her chewed up food to the camera in the Pink's Hot Dog challenge, Lisa points out what the rest of us have noticed: This cycle is supposed to be about personality, yet two of the biggest personalities -- Sheena and Brittany -- were the first to go. The lesson the girls take away from this is, "No one is safe!" The lesson they Should take away is, "This whole thing is bullsh*t so let's just have fun with it." Um, I am still recovering from last night's episode of America's Next Top Model. It took me three — yes, three — hours to watch the show last night because there were too many amazingly awkward screen-shots to take. This morning, I had 94 pictures from last night's show on my iPhone — 94 pictures of awkwardness mostly of a bizarre sexual nature. Go to the bathroom, grab a drink and maybe a snack and settle in for this recap.
We start in the van talking about the awesome prizes up for grabs this season. Virginal Shannon seems to be the most psyched and even comes across as a little scary if Lisa's face is any indication.

As we all know by now, America's Next Top Model: All Stars is not all about taking pretty pictures, it's also focused on building yourself as a brand and establishing an empire, which explains why each of the models had to design their own hot dog this week and sell it in a photoshoot which represented them as a person. Watch Nigel explaining the new cycle below: Each of our remaining models meets a branding expert who gives them a word that fans would use to describe them and that they must aim to build their brand on. Kayla is slightly offended when she suggests her word should be 'Lgbt' but the expert tells her that was "five years ago" and she is given 'free' instead. The other words are: Lisa (daring), Sheena (unexpected), Shannon (trustworthy), Dominique (survivor), Allison (unique), Angelea (persistence), Bre (girlfriend), Camille (more)...

A house full of model all-stars has got to mean one thing, right? Drama! This cycle of America's Next Top Model, Tyra Banks is all about teaching the girls how to brand themselves into a celebrity that their fan base will continue to support. That being said, we still get one of our fave parts of Antm: makeovers! Branding: Tyra invited the "King of Branding" Martin Lindstrom over to the house to reveal what one word fans use to define each girl, which will ultimately decide their brand, which they must carry with them throughout the competition. Last season on America's Next Top Model: Regular Folks, you started to see signs that maybe they were taking this fashion thing seriously after all. Sure, there was the requisite Top Model goofiness attached to the season because, well, this is Top Model, but the show took steps to gain a bit of legitimacy. You had the bee beauty shoot, actual couture fashion being showcased, and a fairly decent group of models, so when it was announced that cycle 17 was going to be an all-star extravaganza, I had to get a little excited.
I mean, surely America's Next Top Model: All-Stars would cut down on the silly photo shoots to really give these girls the boost they need to enter the next stage in their career?

Poor Brittany was the first casualty of the "America's Next Top Model" all-star season. On the way home from judging, the girls go bonkers over the prizes for the winner of the season. There's a quick montage of all the girls saying they deserve to win. I just wish one had been like, "Naw, I should get like fourth place."
Branding (unfortunately, not with cattle prods)
At the Model Manse, Alexandria says she's "a misunderstood star." Snerk. Whatever you need to tell yourself to sleep at night. Um, what is with the talking-head interviews where everyone has on Chemo Patient Chic? Weird.
Anyway. Tyra shows up with Martin Lindstrom, a "brand strategist genius" (Tyra's words). He is there to school them about their individual brands, which he says should boil down to one word that he assigns them. Lisa gets daring, Sheena gets unexpected and then Martin tells Kayla her...

Brittany Brower was the first all-star sent home from "America's Next Top Model" - but she says she's eventually going to have her own show and Tyra better watch her back.
Are you glad you came back, even though you went home first?

I can't believe it's already time for another season of America's Next Top Model. Last night's premiere picked up right where I remember it leaving off - which is to say, ridiculously.
Our fearless leader, Tyra Banks, tosses and turns in her bed as visions of RuPaul — no, wait — visions of herself emulating past contestants dance around her head.
She wakes to tell us it's not a nightmare; it's a reality. She went back through all the old cycles and brought back our favorites for a season of Antm All-Stars (or mostly the people who caused some kind of controversy)!
