Boy band sensation One Direction are back in the world of comics - and they are celebrating with an homage to the X-Men.
Now in stores, Bluewater Productions' latest title Fame: One Direction 2 is written by Michael Troy with art by Jill Lamarina. The new comic features two covers, one by Jill Lamarina and the other by David T. Cabera.
"One Direction is one of the hottest boy bands right now and it was a blast writing a comic book about them," said Troy.
"The first issue was a huge success that we wanted to tell more of their stories," said publisher Darren G. Davis "Not only are these comic books fun, but they can be used as a tool for reluctant readers."
Along with the new issue, their first comic Fame: One Direction 1 is being re-released with a new cover (above on right) in tribute to the Marvel Comics...

Downton Abbey's true story will be recounted in a new comic book from Bluewater Productions.
Female Force: Lady Almina - The Real Downton Abbey will follow the life and often-scandalous times of the woman who inspired the popular television show.
Michael Troy will write the title for Bluewater, with Giuseppe Latanza shouldering illustration duties and Philip Horton providing a cover design.
"I've always had a fondness for snooty British aristocracy and scandal - so this one was a guilty pleasure to work on for sure," said Troy.
Bluewater has previously published biographic comics featuring Princess Diana, Hillary Clinton, Jk Rowling and Cher under its Female Force banner.
Female Force: Lady Almina - The Real Downton Abbey will be released on February 20.

Teen pop idols Justin Bieber, One Direction, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Big Time Rush are finding further fame in the digital comics world.
American publisher Bluewater Productions has this month released 40-page extended graphic novels of its sold-out Fame biography series. These have been expanded from the regular comic book editions released earlier.
"These biographies are a great way to get in new readers to the comic book marketplace," said publisher Darren G. Davis.
"They are do well with libraries and schools as well. Not only are they fun but also they are educational. As a kid that was a reluctant reader - comic books helped me get my reading skills in order. We hope to gain a new and different audience with these.
"We get letters from comic book fans who are parents and love these because they can share their hobby with their kids who are not always into superheroes.

Artist/writer/comic book creator and doorQ, Michael Troy has just unleashed his latest creation: Blonde Squad, which begs to answer the question: What would happen when a group of shallow blonde super heroes join a super team just to be famous?
The squad consists of Speedbump, Drain, Psight and my personal favorite, Blonder Man, a famous for nothing socialite that can suck the life out of anything (Hmmmmmmmm… sound familiar?!). They are guided by power mentor to the stars Kandi Kramer, the question is will the Bs soar or be publicly humiliated and prove there is such a thing as bad publicity?
Well, fanboys pick up the debut issue and find out . The comic is sharp and witty as creator Michael Troy states:
“I think this has crossover appeal in that it would appeal to the In Touch, Us Weekly audience as well as fanboy geeks. The Blonde Squad...

And So It Begins....
It's Day One of Comic-Con and I feel like I'm home.
Well, if I was home I'd be reclining on the sofa, watching the TV and dressed far more casually than I care to admit in mixed company, but hey, you get the idea. But since I can't invite you into my home, and since many of you are living your Comic Con experience vicariously through doorQ.com, I thought I'd do something a wee bit different this year and give you a day-by-day over-view of what's going on.
But since this is The Gay Sf / Fantasy / Horror site (like there are a lot), I can't just chase the rest of the crowd and give you some deep, philosophical treatise on what it means to commune with fellow Imaginators, enjoying the fellowship and exploring all the wonders that exist therein. No, you can get that anywhere.

As a special way to celebrate the 4th of July, Heroscribe Comics! has reduced the price of Gay Terror #1 to only $.99 until July 5th, 2010.
Gay Terror #1 is an eclectic mix of horror stories from upcoming creators that features gay characters in terrifying situations. The downloadable e-comic contains three comic book stories and a special prose story by popular short horror author Robert C. Eccles.
“Wormfood”, the lead story, is a ‘Mommy Dearest’ zombie tale of a gay man and his dead mother. “Coming Out” by J. David Rhodes puts an all-new horrific spin on coming out to your parents. Michael Troy’s “Simply 2Die4” explores the real life horror of hooking up with a stranger you meet on the Internet. Robert C. Eccles wraps up the collection with an eerily reminiscent of Stephen King short story about a gay couple’s traumatizing vacation in the mountains.
