Victoria Monet is done bringing her daughter to red carpet events for now.
Last month, the 34-year-old “On My Mama” singer brought along 2-year-old Hazel to the 2024 Grammys, where she took home the awards for Best New Artist while her album Jaguar II won Best R&b Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
In a new interview, Victoria said that bringing Hazel to the event was a “disaster” and she’s going to wait a while until the toddler walks the red carpet again.
Keep reading to find out more…“The last carpet was a disaster, so I think we’re gonna give it a couple years,” Victoria told Entertainment Tonight.
While Hazel won’t on the red carpet again anytime soon, she has been joining her mom in the recording studio.
“She already is Grammy-nominated so it sounds about right, you know?” Victoria added. Hazel became the youngest nominee...

The scrappy ragtag team, the gruff but kind coach, the against-the-odds triumph — sports dramas rarely veer far from a basic template. It’s no surprise when the story’s athletes accomplish their unlikely goal; it’s how the director leads us there that matters. In the case of The Boys in the Boat, a telling of true events that can feel overly cautious in its admiring distance, the surprises lie in small moments and grace notes.
At the helm for his ninth feature, George Clooney follows the intimate coming-of-age tale The Tender Bar with a return to the realm of history. He puts a subdued spin on the story of unlikely Olympians — and generally avoids the stodginess of The Monuments Men. YouTube is using its Premium subscribers as test subjects for a pair of AI-driven features. Viewers who access YouTube’s ad-free tier can now read AI-generated summaries that condense entire comment sections into “easily digestible themes.” A second, upcoming test will center around a “conversational AI tool.”
Those quotes come from a YouTube Help post attributed to a team member named Hazel. The current test is active on a “small number of videos in English that have large comment sections.” On those videos, comment sections are broken into individual topics. “Creators can use these comment summaries to more quickly jump into comment discussions on their videos,” reads the post, “or to draw inspiration for new content based on what their audiences are discussing.”
The post shows some example comment summaries from a participating MrBeast video. They included topics like “LazarBeam should be in more videos” and “no submarine.” Curious viewers...

On ‘Mental Health Day’, ‘Bhagya Lakshmi’ fame actor Akash Choudhary shared his personal battle with clinical depression and his inspiring journey to recovery, revealing how his pet dog helped him forget everything.
Despite his fame from reality shows like ‘MTV Splitsvilla’, ‘Dating in the Dark,’ and ‘Bhagya Lakshmi’, Akash faced a challenging period marked by clinical depression.
Talking about the same, Akash recounted, “In 2019, I hit a low point in life where everything seemed fine, things were okay, but there was a certain hollowness within me. I was feeling a bit sad, staying at home, not interacting with people, but I was doing well in life.”
“However, I didn’t have any awareness of clinical depression, and there were no clear symptoms. It was just there.”
He continued, “Even small things would trigger me. If there was a delay in food or any minor issue, I’d panic and start crying.

"The Other Black Girl," Hulu's new series based on the best-selling novel by Zakiya Dalila Harris, is an important addition to the streamer's arsenal as a show that centers on the hostile environments that Black women can face in the workplace. It's a near-universal experience for many Black women and is finally being represented on screen.
But when the show takes a turn and reveals the main villain to be another Black woman perpetuating violence against her own community, the show falls short, creating a world where Black women are pitted against each other. As a Black woman who has often been the "only" in workplace settings, the experiences that Nella (played by Sinclair Daniel) goes through at Wagner Publishing resonated. But, unlike Nella, I always had Black colleagues to lift me up, not keep me down.
I have always found that the Black women I worked with had my back.

Of course, they waited until the season finale to drop so many delicious plot twists and revelations!
Capping off one of the strongest seasons of this series, Virgin River Season 5 Episode 10 delivered love, wrapped up storylines and opened up new ones, gave us shocking revelations, and even confirmed who the father of Charmaine's babies is!
And somehow, none of those things were as surprising as learning that Mel's ties to Virgin River precede her and that her father may reside there.
Life has a funny way of working, doesn't it?
As expected, the hour wasted no time delving right into the crime-thriller component of the series by diving into Melissa's operation.
Brady was able to tell Jack a little about what was happening, and while Jack's initial reaction was on par with how he typically treats Brady, something managed to click.
It's like he took a breath and realized...

Thankfully, even with the various strikes, the next few months will be full of TV goodness.
There is a lot out there, and we’ve got you covered. Find out below what we recommend you watch this week!

Convicting a Murderer (Daily Wire+)
Did you fall for the Steven Avery saga with Netflix’s Making a Murderer? Did you demand justice and, in doing so, throw Steven’s unwitting victims under the bus to do it?
Well, Candace Owens has helped put together another view of that docuseries, including how court transcripts and voice recordings were manipulated to paint a picture fitting their narrative rather than allowing the evidence to speak for itself.
Prepare to be taken on a journey through witness and Avery fan interviews that will upend the narrative. Was he wrongly imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit? Absolutely. But that’s not the whole story.

What a nailbiter!
One could envision a wildfire hitting Virgin River would be intense beyond measure, bringing all sorts of panic, drama, and heroic moments.
And Virgin River Season 5 Episode 5 didn't fall short on that in the least, with a gripping installment ending in a cliffhanger with a girl on the edge of her seat.
Wildfires are terrifying, and we've unfortunately seen how destructive they can be far more frequently these days, so the notion of one touching down on the fictional ground of Virgin River elicited so many feelings.
As expected, heroes emerged, and the community is coming together in a way one anticipates.
The entire hour is devoted to the increasing danger of a fire spreading and destroying everything we love and hold dear about this small town.
A sense of urgency builds throughout the hour, as it starts with a casual awareness and caution about the fire,...

The Busby quints are getting older! While it seems like just yesterday that Adam and Danielle Busby brought their five girls home from the hospital, the stars of TLC’s OutDaughtered are already in third grade.
Danielle Busby can’t believe how big her girls have gotten
Recently, Danielle took to Instagram to share some snaps from the quints’ first day of school. Ava, Olivia, Riley, Hazel, and Parker are now third graders, which their mom can hardly believe. Older daughter Blayke is now in the seventh grade.
“Early morning today with the start of our new school year! Quints start 3rd grade and Blayke starts 7th grade! All my baby girls are just growing up so fast,” Danielle captioned the post. “Praying for a safe and smooth new year.”
As in years past, the quints are split between different classrooms at school.

Welcome to Victoria Monét's Jaguar universe. It took some time to get to what she calls her "level-up" era, but the whiz songwriter-turned-superstar-soloist is finally ready to unleash her long-awaited album "Jaguar II."
Monét's new LP, the second and final installment in her series, releases on Aug. 25, a little over three years after the original arrived in the midst of the pandemic. Both influenced and inspired by one of her favorite eras, the funk and soul of the 1970s, the "Smoke" singer calls "Jaguar II" the "more developed, confident, sure, better older sister." And she's ready for it to have its mammoth moment.
Unlike the sequel - which has already been lauded as one of the most anticipated R&b releases of the year - Monét wasn't able to embrace the fullness of its predecessor's arrival in the summer of 2020 because her career was on pause, along with the...

There’s a clear sense that something is missing in Wonderwell. Either a scene or two has been cut, or the existing scenes have been rearranged to make the story work. At one level, Wonderwell, which is the late Carrie Fisher’s last performance, is a coming-of-age fantasy drama, and midway through, it also gives a hint that it’s about child abuse and exploitation as well. Any way you look at it, beyond the flaws lies a great story, which, if explored well, can be more than it was in this film. The Alice in Wonderland vibes from this movie are pretty strong, but the film’s strange originality pulls you in. Wonderwell might not be a great film, but it’s worth watching as it was completed in the memory of Carrie Fisher.

TLC’s OutDaughtered Season 9 features Adam and Danielle Busby explaining life with their six daughters — Blayke and the Busby quints. The quints turned 8 years old in April 2023, and they’re learning many new skills. Unfortunately, the series still focuses on Hazel Busby’s eye issues, as her eyes may affect her ability to learn new skills. And Adam once documented Hazel’s journey to learning how to swim.
Hazel Busby needed more time to learn how to swim than the rest of the Busby quints
The Busby quints are all developing their personalities in OutDaughtered Season 9, which also applies to Hazel Busby. Adam and Danielle Busby always knew Hazel as the sweet quint, though she had trouble with her eyes. She has nystagmus, causing her eyes to move rapidly. In season 9, this issue persists.
Early seasons of OutDaughtered showed Hazel lagging in learning motor skills. And she also reportedly had trouble learning how to swim.

Making the pie should have been easy. The recipe calls for the usual ingredients: flour, sugar, lemon (both zest and juice), blueberries and an egg. But the parenthetical after the egg complicates matters. “Preferably speckled,” it reads. In truth, any egg would have been fine. But Jodie (Skyler Peters), Alice (Phoebe Ferro) and Hazel (Charlie Stover), the precocious trio at the heart of Weston Razooli’s fanciful debut feature Riddle of Fire, are not only novice bakers — they’re also children. So what should have been a suggestion becomes a mandate.
The search for the speckled egg is the crux of Razooli’s film, which renders the American West (it’s set in Wyoming but was shot in Utah) as a landscape baited with obstacles. There’s a painterly quality to the director’s depiction of the Great Plains state: Billowing white clouds drift across the powder-blue sky, their path...

If you ask Kesha something as simple as “How are you feeling?” she just might launch into a monologue about the meaning of life. I spent nearly an hour on Zoom with the pop star talking about her next album, Gag Order, and although I was able to include the majority of her best quotes in that story, some things slipped through the cracks. (Including her insisting that we introduce our cats to one another at the end of the interview. Hazel and Skeeter were star-struck.)

Nearly half a century on, the argument rages on over whether Grease was overtly sexist for its girl-changes-to-please-a-boy ending, or secretly feminist for its vivid female characters and rejection of puritanical sexual mores. If Paramount+’s Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies has its way, there will be no corresponding debate over its own progressive stances. The prequel aims to tackle head-on the sexism and racism plaguing its 1950s setting, while also, of course, delivering infectious tunes, lovable characters and sweet teen romance.
The series succeeds at some of that. As a statement of social-justice ideals, Rise of the Pink Ladies is on uneven ground; as a musical, it’s disappointingly forgettable. But as a story about the joys of teen friendship and first love, it’s almost endearing enough to make up for its shortcomings in other areas.

Even in the streaming wars era, with programmers gambling on new concepts in order to gain and retain subscribers, schedules aren’t brimming with musicals. That’s because TV musicals are hard. And as a general rule, they rarely stick — even when well executed.
Sure, for every “Galavant” and “Eli Stone” there’s a “Glee,” a “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist,” or a “Smash,” which was a delightful disaster for two seasons. But even “Glee” had its own set of pacing and storyline problems after the surprising first season. “Smash” failed to catch fire in the ratings despite its cult following, and “Zoey” barely held on during its two-season (and a movie) run. As for Apple TV+’s “Schmigadoon!,” the proof will be in the (corn) pudding as to whether it can sustain its momentum when Season 2 debuts this month.
