The big finale of "American Idol"'s 11th season is finally upon us this week, and we noticed that this year's two finalists look as cut out for the camera as they do for the stage (hello Phillip Phillips!).
It certainly doesn't hurt that so many "Idol" alums before them have successfully launched from the show's giant platform into the world of film.
In fact, there have been a lot of reality stars in general who've made a name in the movie scene. Here are our top 15.
15. Carrie Underwood, 'American Idol'

For "Idol" Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood, five Grammys, dozens of other accolades, four successful albums, and pretty hair just wasn't enough. She first gave her thespian itch a scratch on the small screen in 2010 with guest stints on "Sesame Street" and "How I Met Your Mother" before going full-blown Hollywood for 2011's "Soul Surfer,...

If there's ever been a more appropriate metaphor for Antm than this week's photoshoot, I don't know what it is: All aboard the S train, which just shuttles back and forth, back and forth, never really making much of a journey, and always smelling like career failure and boiling garbage. (Trust me.) So it is with Top Model, loathe to break any new ground or move in compelling, fresh directions; instead it just sways to and fro, from Grand Central to Times Square, from ratty weaves to arguments about respect, from annoying "you don't know me" screaming matches to over-enthusiasm for Seventeen magazine.

It's been another magical week of captioning the worst photo from America's Next Top Model. Ren's disco-(un)inspired photo inspired many classic dance-disses, but in the end, a totally original take on her frigid pose won our prize for the best caption of the week. See the winner below!
This week: whoo boy, it's a doozy. Tyra put the models in a tub full of blood (fake blood ... we think?) to become bloodsucking buddies with a sexy vampire. The result? This is one bath date that makes us wish for a hot shower. *Shudder.*

Could last night's Top Model have been any duller? Somewhere between Brenda's blathering on about her haircut (still?!) and Anslee's clench-jawed perpetual sourness, I slipped into coma. This is just my subconscious typing this now -- obviously no person possessing both free will and the physical ability to turn something off would continue to slog through this season... right? Why is Tyra doing this to us? How can Antm possibly continue for more cycles, when this one is already running on fumes? This week, the modeltestants had to get up on stage, but it wasn't the acting challenge...

America's Next Top Model contestant Ren Vokes has admitted that she was "relieved" to be eliminated from the competition. The 22-year-old became the third finalist to be axed from Cycle 14 on Wednesday night, after failing to impress the judges with her disco-themed photograph. She had previously admitted that while she loved modelling, she disliked the drama of being in the house with the other girls. Speaking to Digital Spy, she said: "I wasn't upset. I was pretty relieved with it. Looking back on it now, it was a really good experience and funny, but just living there in the moment was really (more)...

Getting hand-picked for the cast of a modeling reality show probably sounds like the perfect opportunity to many girls trying to break into this harsh, competitive business.
But for Ren Vokes, being that extra-special addition to America's Next Top Model cycle 14 presented more challenges than she was prepared to encounter, especially as someone who had never really watched the show. After that initial pat on the back for being Tyra's special thirteenth contestant, Ren then got shoved into a environment full of suspicious roommates (her competition) and unexpected pressures--one of which was the weight of being "hand-picked" in the first place.
All these stimuli in the foreign world of reality television, in Ren's words, "drove [her] a little nutty," and after three weeks she decided to leave the show, at the same time that Tyra Banks declared she would have been eliminated, anyway. As far as mutual break-ups go, this...

If the next cycle of this show doesn't have some kind of compelling gimmick (actual human feelings) or twist (Born Agains vs. Atheists), I think we might have to part ways. A dance-inspired challenge? Excuse me while I try to wrest myself from this coma. Nope, I couldn't do it, coma: 1, Tyra: 0. A blah challenge, warmed-over fights, dated references, and an elimination that arrived by telegraph months ago -- Top Model, why have you forsaken me? Brenda complained that she was having an "identity crisis" thanks to the haircut, and Ren said she was "93 percent sure" she was going to leave the competition.

(S14E03) I find it amusing when two shows start bleeding into each other. This week 'America's Next Top Model' borrowed 'Project Runway's' sponsor Bluefly.com. Granted, this isn't the first time crossover has happened between the two shows. Previous contestants like Dani (Cycle 6), Bianca (Cycle 9), and Anya (Cycle 10) have modeled for contestants on their final runway shows. Because of that, I got several commercials for Bluefly.com with Anthony announcing "Period" each time.
Ren continued to self-eliminate herself throughout the episode, and yet didn't have the guts to actually quit. Tyra must be annoyed that the person that she hand picked didn't succeed.

The girls leave their New York home to find a 'Fab Bus' parked outside with season three star Tocarro Jones waiting inside. She tells them they will be split into two teams and tested on their fashion knowledge. Raina is named her assistant because she won the last panel. The Blue Team is Krista, Simone, Angelea, Jessica and Alexandra. The Red Team is Anslee, Tatiana, Ren, Brenda and Alasia. The first team to correctly answer five questions will win. It ends up neck-in-neck at 4-4 between the two teams as Brenda and Simone step up. Their question is who hosts America's Next Top Model in Germany. The answer is Heidi Klum and Simone gets it, securing the win. The blue team's prize - including Raina - is to meet with the reps from Bluefly.com for a go-see, with Simone being named the winning girl. The losing team has to help Bluefly's copywriters weigh,...

After threatening to quit the competition, Ren Vokes was finally given the chance to leave tonight on America's Next Top Model. Lacking the desire to remain with the other girls, she told the judging panel what she revealed in the confessional: that it was not her choice to be on the show.

America's Next Top Model eliminee Naduah Rugley has said that she was "flattered" when Tyra Banks suggested she should still be on the show. The model and mother was eliminated from The CW competition during last week's episode, after landing in the bottom two with Ren. Banks later posted a message on her Twitter account saying that she wished Rugley was still in the running. Speaking to Digital Spy, the model said: "I was very flattered she would say that. When I first spoke to her she seemed very interested in my story and very supportive and she (more)...

The universe has realigned itself. America's Next Top Model is back to one-hour episodes. We're back to the normal and harmonious pattern of challenge-photo shoot-elimination. Tyra has taken back her place as chief of sass in the judging panel. And someone attempting to become a model decided it was a good idea to wear a swimsuit to judging panel.
We're Back!
I'll have you know that my Elton John-inspired headline up there is not just a hollow, clever pun. (Though it is So clever.) It's also a beautifully concise summary of what tonight's America's Next Top Model episode (which was merely episode 3, though I, like Ren, "feel like I've been here for months") was all about: whining and dancing. More specifically, given the show's overall premise--a premise which the show itself often forgets for long spans of time--how whining and dancing affect one's modeling. Important issues that definitely needed delving into.

Nudity, screaming, wipeouts, and the dawn of the André era -- but remind me again why this week's Top Model needed to be a grueling 90 minutes? It would have been (barely) permissible were it one giganto episode, but no, it was pretty plainly the ass-half of last week's also needlessly long episode, plus a full regular episode. I can't tell what's worse: that kind of cruddy last-minute patchworking, or Tyra's wrap jumpsuit with pockets. Just kidding..., of course I can tell. It was the jumpsuit. Let's do this, kids. When we left off last week, the modeltestants had just been...
