The Break-Up screenwriter, Jeremy Garelick is definitely a very busy man these days.
He already has Baywatch adaptation and The Insane Laws in the works, but looks that it’s not enough, because we learned that two more projects are waiting for him, An Ex to Grind and Hassle Man.
So, Garelick now has two closed deals, he’s signed on to pen the comedy An Ex To Grind for Fox and direct the comedy Hassle Man for Universal Pictures.
An Ex to Grind is an adaptation of the Jane Heller novel, which centers around “…the now-successful wife (Cameron Diaz) of a former star athlete (Benicio Del Toro) as she devises a scheme to divorce him without paying alimony.”
On the other hand, Hassle Man is a project that Garelick described by saying:
“When you can’t hire a hit man, hire a hassle man.”
Simple as that. Although, he...

Scribe Jeremy Garelick ("The Break-Up") has signed on to pen the comedy "An Ex To Grind" for Fox and direct the comedy "Hassle Man" for Universal Pictures reports Deadline.
An adaptation of Jane Heller's 2005 novel, 'Ex' follows a Manhattan financial planner (Cameron Diaz) who seeks to divorce her professional football player husband (Benicio del Toro) who has become a lazy couch potato.
Trying to get out of alimony, she finds a random woman she can dump on her ex for three months so as to violate a cohabitation clause.
The scheme doesn't go to plan however as the new love inspires him to be the man she always wanted him to be and now she wants him back. Laura Bickford and Julie Yorn will produce.
Eli Jorne and Reed Agnew penned 'Hassle' about a 'hassler for hire', someone people use when they don't have the funds or balls to employ a hit man.

Exclusive: Screenwriter Jeremy Garelick has closed two deals. He'll adapt for 20th Century Fox the Jane Heller novel An Ex To Grind as a star vehicle for Cameron Diaz and Benicio Del Toro. Garelick has separately been signed by Universal Pictures to direct Hassle Man, a comedy that will be written by Eli Jorne and Reed Agnew Garelick, who cowrote The Break-Up and did uncredited rewrite work for Todd Phillips on The Hangover, has been gearing himself to direct since he was Joel Schumacher's assistant and directed second unit on Veronica Guerin. Making the leap from scribe to director isn't easy, and Garelick helped his own cause by spending $25,000 and calling in every favor he could to film a six-minute scene from The Pretender, a script he set up at Universal. "I was sitting on the set of The Hangover, watching that happen when I thought, why not show Universal I can direct,...
