Stephen King adaptation Under The Dome is silly but good-looking, watchable stuff. Here's Frances' review of the pilot...

1.1 Pilot
Counting from the second the massive invisible force-field whoomps down on Under the Dome’s small town, there’s a wildly entertaining twenty minutes or so in this pilot. Whoomp! Down comes the dome, cutting farmhouses in half and making cow sashimi. Whoomp! A moving juggernaut cab crashes into it and crumples like a Pug’s face. Whoomp! Planes, birds, and severed limbs fall out of the sky, landing this way and that. Whoomp, whoomp, whoomp! It’s exhilarating, good-looking stuff from director Niels Arden Oplev.
The question, once the whoomping larks are over, is whether or not we’re going to be able to stand spending the next thirteen weeks trapped inside the fishbowl with these folk. Because Chester’s Mill ain't a sophisticated place,...

"Under the Dome's" executive producer Jack Bender is perhaps best known for helming "Lost" as a producer and director for six year. But despite the involvement of Bender and writer Brian K. Vaughan, don't mistake CBS' high-concept new series for "Lost 2.0."

Whether you're a fan of the book or a newcomer to King's world, the series has plenty of surprises in store.
