As a broadcaster and writer, Douglas has worked for the BBC, Channel 4 and BAFTA amongst others specialising in genres from music and film to sport and entertainment. This and more is detailed in his latest book released in 2016, the part memoir, part how to guide to creativity - Left Of The Mainstream: From DIY Film-maker To Public Service Broadcaster.
In 2017, he interviewed a selection of the biggest and most interesting names in popular culture including Idris Elba, Frankie Boyle, Vin Diesel, Steve Mason, Josh Widdicombe, Stephen Mangan, Mel C, Richard Osman, Miles Jupp and Tom Davis in a series of short form online films under the name of The Douglas Anderson Show, made in conjunction with So Television.
He is also known for letting his humour and opinions run loose as a regular on BBC Radio 5Live's Sony Gold award winning Fighting Talk where he has attained something of a cult following, as well as his work on 5Live's The Manifesto, BBC Radio 4's It's Not What You Know and starring in the Belle & Sebastian film Write About Love in the dual roles of host and band manager. This passion for music has also lead to him working on major feature films in the role of music consultant and advisor with the latest being American Animals, directed by Bart Layton and due for international release in 2018. There is still time though for many and varied independent creative undertakings. These include his music podcast The Public Service Broadcast his popular blog series and audio/e-book What To Talk About When There's Nothing To Talk About, retracing the steps of James Mason in the documentary The London Nobody Knows Now, a talk show where brevity is imperative in the form of The 3 Minute Chat Show and short films such as Timber! which has been screened around the globe.
