- Hans Van Harken was born in Texas but spend his entire life moving frequently throughout the United States, Mexico, and Spain. At age 12, he had a short lived child-acting career in national toy commercials. As a teenager, he moved from Barcelona to San Francisco after graduating out of high school early, earning his Film and Television Production diploma at age sixteen. In San Francisco he studied Film Directing at The Academy of Art University briefly before moving onto a career of freelance animation work, which trained his visual story telling skills on the job. That path took him to Philadelphia and finally to Los Angeles. He now lives in Los Angeles (a place he can finally call home) working on a multitude of creative projects, mostly online focused. He has even started his own production company named Skel Studio since December of 2017.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Skel Studio
- Hans has abnormally small pinkies, and they are located slightly lower than average on the palm of his hand. Scientists theorize that his desire to become a living cartoon as a child was so powerful, that it actually stunted their growth in attempts to become four fingered on each hand.
- Hans Van Harken's middle name is 'Joseph', named after his uncle Joseph Van Harken, who is the only other creative person among the brainy Van Harken bunch.
- Hans' mother said that when he was a baby, he didn't eat a sweet cookie until he was 3 or 4 years old. "He only wanted to eat things like olives, anchovies, and anything with vinegar on it as snacks!" She exclaimed.
- Contrary to seemingly obvious belief, Hans Van Harken is not actually Dutch. In fact, he's a mixture of Spanish, Mexican, Irish, Caribbean, and varied Mediterranean. His Jewish grandfather was adopted by a Dutch Catholic family in New York city and inherited their name. His mother named him Hans after Hans Christian Anderson and so that his initials would be the symmetrical 'HVH'.
- Hans speaks three and a half languages. English, Spanish, and a bit of Catalan, the language spoken in Barcelona's region. Being that he has family in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Spain, he can speak in each of those 3 accents fluently. In fact, his neutral Spanish speaking voice confuses people of each region, being that his accent is kind of a mixture of all of them.
