The original Broadway cast of Spring Awakening reunited at the 75th annual Tony Awards on June 12. Jonathan Groff, Lea Michele, Skylar Astin, and more took the stage to sing “Touch Me,” which anyone who knows the show knows is the ultimate Astin solo moment. Wearing all black in front of a projection of their old Broadway set, the cast (and its original band!) delivered its third reunion in the last year. Fans most recently saw them all back together in the Spring Awakening: Those You’ve Known HBO documentary in May, which showed the musical’s 2021 reunion concert as well as shared cast interviews and behind-the-scenes footage from the original productions. Michele introduced the performance along with Zach Braff, who gave the show’s introduction at the 2007 Tony Awards. Check out the Spring Awakening 2022 Tony Awards performance, below. John Gallagher Jr., Gideon Glick (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Krysta Rodriguez, Lilli Cooper,...

“It was really healing, actually, to come back together,” reveals Jonathan Groff of the reunion captured in “Spring Awakening: Those You’ve Known.” The HBO documentary chronicles the recent 15 year anniversary concert of the original Broadway cast of “Spring Awakening.” Groff serves as executive producer, but viewers also watch his emotions explode on screen as he dives back into the musical which made him a teenage star. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
One silver lining of the global pandemic is that it provided the opportunity to gather the original “Spring Awakening” cast for a one of a kind benefit concert. “Everyone’s schedules were wide open because of Covid,” describes Groff, “It was feeling like kind of a miracle that we were getting everyone together.” That cast includes likes of Lea Michele, Skylar Astin, John Gallagher Jr., Lauren Pritchard, Lilli Cooper and Gideon Glick; all of whom went on to...

The Asylum’s latest film, 4 Horsemen: Apocalypse dispenses with the usual buildup and gets right to the point. The world is in the midst of unprecedented storms, volcanic activity and locust swarms. They’re so bad the world will be destroyed in 12 hours if something isn’t done to stop it. And all General Norriss knows is that the epicentre is somewhere in Brazil. Luckily for her Sgt. Irv Shockley (Bridger Buckley) and Major Oakley Jones are already in the area so they can become the security detail for the team of experts she’s sending to deal with it.
Vulcanologist Dr. Lynise Hughes, meteorologist Dakota Lenna and microbiologist Elliot Rodney are all experts in their fields. But is that enough to...

As I sit here with my cup of tea and sort through the interwebs to start my day, I notice that it's apparently snowing in large sections of the country today. Yeah, it's all pretty and novel now, but in a few weeks when it's all grey slush on the side of the road that freezes overnight to try and make you slip (yes, snow has evil intentions, just trust me here) you won't be so chipper about it. Me? I'm just annoyed that it's a bit too chilly to wear flip flops in North Cuba today. Here's your Monday night TV:
8:00pm: "90210" on The CW
"American Country Awards" on Fox. Wait, didn't the Cmt awards air a couple weeks ago on ABC? How many Country music oriented awards shows are there?
"How I Met Your Mother" on CBS
"Little People, Big World" on Tlc
"The Sing-Off" on NBC.

Annie Lennox is to headline a charity concert in memory of late Body Shop founder Dame Anita Roddick. Melanie C, soul vocalist Alice Russell and up-and-coming singer-songwriter Lauren Pritchard will also take to the stage at the 'Voicestorm' concert organised by HIV charity Body & Soul. The charity's director Emma Colyer said in a press release: "Anita Roddick became a patron of Body & Soul 14 years ago and was one of the few in the UK who spoke out for people living with or affected by HIV. You can now watch live theatre, pop, opera and more online – but is it ever a match for the real thing? Leo Benedictus spends a week on his sofa in a bid to find out
To get the most from any show, apparently, you have to be there. No technology can transmit the sound of a real orchestra or the immediacy of theatre, can it? If you haven't shared a room with your favourite band, you can't really call yourself a fan. Even giant plasma screens and Blu-ray players cannot properly display those films that, everyone agrees, "you have to see in the cinema".
And everyone is probably right. But they overrate some aspects of the live experience, too. Having spent money going out, we all want to believe we had a good time, if only so we don't resent the journey home. A certain cachet attaches itself to the...
