The CW is kicking off "Remodeled," which is like "Kitchen Nightmares" and "America's Next Top Model" had a baby. Or something. Going in, it was kind of unclear what we were in for.
The Simon Cowell/Gordon Ramsey of this show is Paul Fisher, who is trying to link together small-town modeling agencies and make them over. He is flanked by Olga, a stern VP, and Joseph who probably pronounces it JoSEPH and looks to be an emo hobo.
Fashion Week
The show kicks off with four models that they're going to take with them to New York Fashion Week - Meghan, a sort-of Missy Pyle-looking girl but with big eyes like those velvet paintings of children you see at garage sales; Mariana, who is apparently a "baby gazelle" ... or Gisele; and Bobby, who by next year will be singing and dancing on "Glee." America's Next Top Model: All-Stars 17.11 "Highlights" Review
Hey, you know what this hideous season of Top Model needs?
Why, an episode that recaps every absurd, maddening minute of the hours of our life that we've sunk into this show, of course! Yes, "Highlights" was Top Model's typical late cycle look back at the good times, the bad times, and the times that made me want to throw my TV out the window. I don't typically watch clip shows, as there's very rarely any interesting information that gets presented, but because I love/appreciate everybody who reads and comments on my weekly reviews, I figured "why the heck not?". You're all top models in my eyes, my little pot ledoms.
And...there wasn't anything that stimulating that came from the new footage. At all. I mean, if you're into arguments about time on the phone or finding out that Alexandria has 13 besties (!), then hey,...

As a spunky redhead with an inspiring backstory, a worthy goal (to become the first gay America's Next Top Model winner) and an amazing modeling portfolio, Kayla Ferrel of cycle 15 came in as one of the frontrunners in America's Next Top Model: All-Stars. Personally, I was pretty sure -- and hopeful -- that we'd see her in the finals.
But, once again, I was very, very, tragically wrong. Last Wednesday, Kayla was sent home, partly because her photo portraying Snooki wasn't quite "hot mess" enough for the judges' tastes, but mostly because Tyra thought that, week to week, Kayla was becoming a "watered down" version of her former self.
On the contrary, Kayla told me when we spoke on Friday, she wasn't watered down this cycle. Instead, the show essentially (and rather ironically) set her up for failure, using the word that helped her succeed in cycle 15: "free.

Kayla Ferrel is the most recent "America's Next Top Model" eliminated contestant. In her exit Q&A, she tells Zap2it about her experiences on the show, plus did you know she's really big in Japan? We had no idea.
Are you glad you went back to "Top Model"? Was it everything you hoped or expected it to be?
"Ummm, I'm very happy that I came back, I can say that. It wasn't everything I expected it to be, though, I can admit to that. I thought [before I came back], ' I've gone on, I've done my own modeling, I feel like I've kind of mastered that aspect of it' and then it's like I'm not hearing much positive feedback and I was confused about what they wanted. How do I portray 'free' in the way they want me to? I don't think I accomplished all my goals I wanted to achieve in...

Well we made it everybody! We're finally in the home stretch of this cycle and it couldn't have come soon enough. As we start tonight's show Lisa is upset about Bre leaving but also adds that Bianca doesn't have a bodyguard anymore.
Alexandria, looking the least fierce I've ever seen her, reminds us that the judges knocked her picture for looking like "a reality TV star" and I'm reminded what a joke that is considering the fact that they are on a reality TV show. They — Tyra included — need to get over themselves and probably shouldn't use that as a way to cut the contestants down, particularly considering who their guest judges have been so far.
Shannon says she thinks the judges want more raunch from her. I think she just needs to stop being boring.
Bianca is pissed that the house is full of cliques because now she doesn't...

It's a double elimination on "America's Next Top Model" week, where they have what is maybe the most ridiculous photoshoot of all time (and that is saying something).
The Challenge
The girls are at the Roosevelt Hotel to design their own fragrance. Ooh, that's awesome. I would really get into that challenge. Lisa names her scent "Neon," Laura goes with "Love," Dominique goes with "Survivor," Shannon names hers "Smitten," Angelea names hers "Angelea" (of coruse she does, Angelea rules), Allison names hers "Honey Blood," Kayla's is "Free" (again, snoooooze), Bianca's is "Candid" and Alexandria's is "Diamondatrix." Huh.
I wish these were for sale because I really want to smell them all. I feel like I would like Allison's just because I love her and I'm kind of a big weirdo like her. But who knows? I want to smell them!
For the challenge, they are selling...

Once a reality show has been in the trenches for a few weeks, its contestants are bound to get a little frustrated. Even the most seasoned of reality famewhore can get a little tired of the constant grind that the medium requires: the inane challenges, the leading questions that you just know will be edited strangely, the lack of any proper distractions in television or the internet. After the show has gotten through its first few weeks and worn down the optimism to a nice, crisp apathy, you get to see the claws come out.
Luckily, Top Model: This Cycle Has Nothing to Do With Fashion Stop Pretending It Does, Tyra comes prepared for situations like this, as crazy Aunt Tyra let the girls take out some frustration in "Coco Rocha". For having such a well-known collection of basketcases and weirdos, America's Next Top Model: You're Lucky to Remember...

Coco Rocha is on hand for a "b**** fight" photoshoot. That should be such a stretch for some of the "America's Next Top Model" girls.
After Panel
Bianca continues to be confrontational and think everybody hates her because she's a threat. Must be Wednesday.
The Challenge
Flag football. Awesome. Brittny Gastineau and Julie Henderson are there. Brittny is a socialite and Julie is a "fiercely real" supermodel. The teams are filled out by the eliminated girls, then some NFL players - Julian Edelman from the Patriots, Jahvid Best from the Lions, Kareem Jackson from the Texas and Dante Hughes from the Chargers. Angelea is beside herself. You and me both, girl.
The stupid Tyra twist is when a flag is thrown, you have to immediately strike a pose for the photographer. You win a spread on Tyra's website and some jewelry. The winning team splits $5000 between the two charities represented...

Another Wednesday night is here and my booty is firmly tooched on the couch for America's Next Top Model. The three of us (I'm assuming there's still three of us) have made it all the way to the Kardashian guest star appearance. Yay for us.
When we last were with the girls, Angelea won the challenge and now she is feeling supa dupa fly and in her solo interview she says the other girls better be scared because they underestimated her. She's ready to take over now.
Bre thought she'd be doing better since she's been working as a model professionally for the last six years but she's not doing as well as she'd like.
Lisa says we better hold on tight because she's about to unleash the crazy beast from inside. I can't wait because I am bored as hell.
Kayla and Bianca talk about how they didn't think...

We start things off Wednesday (Oct. 12) on "America's Next Top Model" with Bre and Lisa talking about how they need to step it up and how they're in danger, which leads me to predict they are the Bottom 2 tonight. Meanwhile, Bianca is all mopey and Dominique rightly points out you can never be above an opportunity, which is true.
A lot of the evicted models have been telling us in interviews that they were pitched something totally different for all-stars than what it turned out to be. But it's still face time on TV and a chance for something.
Now there is phone drama about calling their families. Shannon has a good idea about drawing spots for time and Bianca gets last. She has a problem with it, but she's not confrontational about it, but Shannon the "quiet Christian" kind of loses it. I don't love Bianca, but I'm with her on this one.

Welcome back ladies and gents! If you've made it this far along the All Stars cycle of America's Next Top Model, you are a true warrior!
The episode begins with the girls coming back to the house and Angelea says she's going to work on showing herself more.
Lisa brings out the bottles of wine and reminds us she did a stint on Celebrity Rehab. I totally missed that season, but I'm thinking the networks are going to have to start redefining their takes on "Celebrity" "Stars" and "All Stars." Even though Lisa brought the booze out, she says she's not going to drink. She's going to keep her head focused.
The girls get some snail mail and while the younger contestants seem to be getting a lot of clothes and fun things from home, Camille gets a big box of work. She said she's been doing well but work...

As much as I've criticized America's Next Top Model: All-Stars this season for being a little more wackadoo than usual, I have to admit that "Anthony Zuiker" managed to keep the sense of fun that that best episodes of Top Model have while bringing some of the legitimacy that had been missing thus far in cycle 17.
I love a crazy photo shoot or funny challenge as much as the next guy, but this cycle had seemed to put on its absurd weave and forget about its high fashion sunglasses, in that the first three episodes were heavy on the silly and stupid and very light on anything resembling proper training for these girls. However, "Anthony Zuiker" brought both with a little bit of old school medical drama and I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.

America's Next Top Model All Stars's fourth episode opens with the girls receiving goodies from home. Unfortunately for poor Camille, her box from home contains bills. She tells us that at 33 her financial responsibilities are slightly different to some of the other girls and although she gets steady modelling work, the money isn't always great. Kayla, meanwhile, is feeling dizzy and uneasy and says her heart is racing, so she takes to her bed. Worryingly, she seems to get worse so eventually an ambulance is called and she is whisked away to the ER. Thankfully, she returns the next day feeling better. This week's challenge is extra special - the girls will all be auditioning for a guest role as a medical intern in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and the winner will appear in an episode of the show to broadcast this fall. First, however, they have (more)...

Oh my, who says models aren't smart?
In "Anthony Zuiker," we got an early look at the most painful challenge that all Antm candidates face: memorizing lines. But double the pain because they had to memorize difficult (re: unpronounceable) medical jargon from CSI.
In almost every cycle of Antm to date, there was a medical mishap. In Cycle 6, Danielle suffered from food poisoning in Thailand; in Cycle 7, CariDee almost got hypothermia. This cycle it was Kayla with a serious headache.
After Kayla overdosed on ibuprofen, the poor thing had a “mini-heart attack” and was taken to the hospital.Thankfully, she returned to model mansion looking as good as new, even if she did look drained throughout the episode.
The actual CSI challenge was seriously painful to watch.Neosporin?Gas?Mass?Ass?These were just some of the words that the girls threw around as they attempted to pronounce "gas chromatograph mass spectrometer.

It looks like the competition on 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed. 9Pm Et on The CW) was almost too much for one contestant. At the house, Kayla started complaining of headaches, nausua and dizziness before her situation escalated into something even worse.
By the time she started gasping for breath and throwing up, even the cameramen put down their equipment and stepped in to try and help while the ambulance was on its way. It was a pretty scary moment as she was carted away.

I'm not going to play, last night's episode of America's Next Top Model made me want this All Star cycle to be over with quickness. Not only am I over trying to suspend my disbelief that most of these girls were the chosen as "All Stars," but as of yesterday we found out Kelly Cutrone will be replacing Andre Leon Talley as a judge next season. Alright, I won't postpone this any longer, let's dive in.
As with the last two episodes, the girls are in the limo cab on their way back to the model house and are discussing the night's elimination results. Lisa says she was surprised she won. I don't know what kind of Toddlers and Tiaras thing she's got going on with her hair in these interview clips, but it needs to go.

America's Next Top Model: All Stars kicks off its third week with Kristin Cavallari making an unannounced arrival at the house for a quick chat with the girls about staying true to themselves, before everyone is off to meet Nigel Barker at The Grove where a Big elimination twist is waiting. After the girls split into two teams - Team 1: Lisa, Laura, Alexandria, Isis, Dominique and Angelea / Team 2: Bianca, Allison, Bre, Camille, Shannon and Kayla - Nigel says that they will be interviewed by Extra host Mario Lopez and the team that does the best will be exempt from elimination at panel. Wow. Team two are the winners which means Lisa, Laura, Alexandria, Dominique, Isis and Angelea are facing elimination. Allison is named the overall winner and her prize is having a proper interview with Extra. Angelea's not feeling too good about Nigel's comments (more)...

In addition to smizing and whatever other weird stuff Tyra Banks has made up over the years, "America's Next Top Model" has now given us "booty tooch."
Post-Panel
Allison is wearing an animal hood around the house and talking about how weird she is. Huh. The next morning, Kristin Cavallari shows up. Yet another random guest judge who will not offer anything constructive.
The Challenge
At The Grove in Los Angeles, the girls are going to be interviewed in groups by Mario Lopez (currently of that awful, awful show "H8R") or Alfred Clifford Slater, as he will always be known to me. Lisa and Bianca get to pick the teams, so it ends up Lisa, Laura, Lex, Isis, Dominique, Angelea and then Bianca, Allison, Bre, Camille, Shannon and Kayla. And then Nigel drops a bomb - the winning team is safe at judging. Wow. That is a lot of girls.

I have some serious mixed emotions about the concept of a group challenge on a reality show like America's Next Top Model. While it works well in stirring up drama and giving a reading on how well you can work with other people, it's hard to fully accept as a true means of eliminating someone. The "random" pairings have a bit too much control in either building up a contest or bringing them all the way down, so it can scream producer interference and predetermination more than anything.
Let me just get this out. I think Isis was robbed in "Kristin Cavallari", the third episode of America's Next Top Model: All-Stars. The entire set up of the episode was to blame, though, due to the weird rule that half the cast would be safe from elimination following the interview challenge with Mario Lopez. I can understand wanting to give the challenges more weight,...

Um, I am still recovering from last night's episode of America's Next Top Model. It took me three — yes, three — hours to watch the show last night because there were too many amazingly awkward screen-shots to take. This morning, I had 94 pictures from last night's show on my iPhone — 94 pictures of awkwardness mostly of a bizarre sexual nature. Go to the bathroom, grab a drink and maybe a snack and settle in for this recap.
We start in the van talking about the awesome prizes up for grabs this season. Virginal Shannon seems to be the most psyched and even comes across as a little scary if Lisa's face is any indication.
Angelea says she doesn't care that Brittany was sent home. Alexandria laments over the fact that so many people don't like her and want her to go home but says she knows that a lot of people...

As we all know by now, America's Next Top Model: All Stars is not all about taking pretty pictures, it's also focused on building yourself as a brand and establishing an empire, which explains why each of the models had to design their own hot dog this week and sell it in a photoshoot which represented them as a person. Watch Nigel explaining the new cycle below: Each of our remaining models meets a branding expert who gives them a word that fans would use to describe them and that they must aim to build their brand on. Kayla is slightly offended when she suggests her word should be 'Lgbt' but the expert tells her that was "five years ago" and she is given 'free' instead. The other words are: Lisa (daring), Sheena (unexpected), Shannon (trustworthy), Dominique (survivor), Allison (unique), Angelea (persistence), Bre (girlfriend), Camille (more)...

Last season on America's Next Top Model: Regular Folks, you started to see signs that maybe they were taking this fashion thing seriously after all. Sure, there was the requisite Top Model goofiness attached to the season because, well, this is Top Model, but the show took steps to gain a bit of legitimacy. You had the bee beauty shoot, actual couture fashion being showcased, and a fairly decent group of models, so when it was announced that cycle 17 was going to be an all-star extravaganza, I had to get a little excited.
I mean, surely America's Next Top Model: All-Stars would cut down on the silly photo shoots to really give these girls the boost they need to enter the next stage in their career?
Y'all, "Ashlee Simpson" (the episode) was a hot mess. Not a campy, crazy, ooh-girl-that-was-so-fun type of hot mess; no, this was a...

Poor Brittany was the first casualty of the "America's Next Top Model" all-star season. On the way home from judging, the girls go bonkers over the prizes for the winner of the season. There's a quick montage of all the girls saying they deserve to win. I just wish one had been like, "Naw, I should get like fourth place."
Branding (unfortunately, not with cattle prods)
At the Model Manse, Alexandria says she's "a misunderstood star." Snerk. Whatever you need to tell yourself to sleep at night. Um, what is with the talking-head interviews where everyone has on Chemo Patient Chic? Weird.
Anyway. Tyra shows up with Martin Lindstrom, a "brand strategist genius" (Tyra's words). He is there to school them about their individual brands, which he says should boil down to one word that he assigns them. Lisa gets daring, Sheena gets unexpected and then Martin tells Kayla her...

I can't believe it's already time for another season of America's Next Top Model. Last night's premiere picked up right where I remember it leaving off - which is to say, ridiculously.
Our fearless leader, Tyra Banks, tosses and turns in her bed as visions of RuPaul — no, wait — visions of herself emulating past contestants dance around her head.
She wakes to tell us it's not a nightmare; it's a reality. She went back through all the old cycles and brought back our favorites for a season of Antm All-Stars (or mostly the people who caused some kind of controversy)!
This season is gonna get cray because not only are the All-Stars coming, but a whole slew of B-d list celebrities will be giving the girls pointers, possibly trying to hit on them and definitely trying to pimp out their new clothing line (Kardashians, I am looking at you).

We're here, "America's Next Top Model" fans. The newest cycle and probably the one we've most been looking forward to - all-stars. After a terrifying open where Tyra is apparently being haunted by the past contestants, we meet our girls:
Shannon Stewart (Cycle 1), Camille McDonald (Cycle 2), Brittany Brower (Cycle 4), Lisa D'Amato (Cycle 5), Bre Scullark (Cycle 5), Bianca Golden (Cycle 9), Dominique Reighard (Cycle 10), Isis King (Cycle 11), Sheena Sakai (Cycle 11), Allison Harvard (Cycle 12), Laura Kirkpatrick (Cycle 13), Angelea Preston (Cycle 14), Kayla Ferrel (Cycle 15) and Alexandria Everett (Cycle 16).
Here is our photo gallery if you want to check out the all-star ladies.
I'll have to confess - Cycle 7 was the first one I watched, so the girls from prior to that one are new to me. I apologize if I don't know what they're all about right away. But let's get to it!
Highlights from the intros

To prepare ourselves for the crazy, perhaps catastrophic premiere of America's Next Top Model: All Stars, let's familiarize ourselves with the contestants. We know a lot about these ladies from their time on the show, but what have they accomplished since then? What mysterious mystical force convinced them to take another shot at the much-coveted and often laughed-at title? Was it Tyra?
Some of these questions will be answered throughout this week, when we take a look back at the lives of these All-Star contestants. We'll also highlight a few of their best moments on America's Next Top Model.
It's time to check out what's been up with the fierce, queer, and now free: Kayla Ferrel.

America's Next Top Model contestant Kayla Ferrel has admitted that it's "really strange" being in the 'All-Stars' house with former contestants she admired as a child. In a preview video posted by The CW, cycle 15 contestant Kayla points out that she was just 12 years old when America's Next Top Model began so she grew up watching and looking up to her now co-stars on the show. "It's really strange being in the house with all these girls from cycles 1, 2, 5," she says. "I'm cycle 15. When this show started I was 12 years old. I'm like, 'Oh my God, I remember watching you on TV!' "It's hard for me not to be like, 'You were my favourite!' You don't want to do that! It's still a competition, this is still 'All-Stars'. I am who they are. They are an all-star, (more)...

Well, Top Model fans, we're still a week and a half away from opening up the specially wrapped present crazy aunt Tyra left us, which is sure to feature more than enough hot mess antics, ridiculous delusions, and frustrating decisions. The present, you ask?
America's Next Top Model: All-Stars.
Ahead of the show's premiere on September 14th, I thought we could channel all the excitement and anticipation for the fireworks that are sure to come with a little early pontificating. Before us, we have 14 models of various capabilities and experience, but there can be only one to take the title and with it, the prizes, which include a spread in Italian Vogue and the chance to be a guest correspondent for Extra. Just which of these women do you think will come out on top?
At this stage in the game, I think I'll be putting my money on.

"America's Next Top Model" is back this fall for Cycle 17 - and this time, it's featuring All-Stars. We can hardly contain our excitement. The girls returning include: Bianca Golden, Isis King, Angelea Preston and Alexandria Everett, which should lead to some wonderfully catty sparks flying in the house.
In the above preview, Tyra says all the fan-favorites are back, plus there is quite a lineup of guest judges, including Kathy Griffin and the Kardashian girls. "Antm" premieres Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt on the CW.
Which girls are your favorites? We'd have to say Kayla is probably our favorite returning All-Star.

"America's Next Top Model" is changing it up for Cycle 17 - the show has brought back 14 girls from past seasons to compete as All-Stars. The contestants were officially announced Thursday (Aug. 4).
The women of the all-star cast are: Shannon Stewart (Cycle 1), Camille McDonald (Cycle 2), Brittany Brower (Cycle 4), Lisa D'Amato (Cycle 5), Bre Scullark (Cycle 5), Bianca Golden (Cycle 9), Dominique Reighard (Cycle 10), Isis King (Cycle 11), Sheena Sakai (Cycle 11), Allison Harvard (Cycle 12), Laura Kirkpatrick (Cycle 13), Angelea Preston (Cycle 14), Kayla Ferrel (Cycle 15) and Alexandria Everett (Cycle 16).
The show has also announced their fierce lineup of guest judges, which range from the appropriate (model Tyson Beckford and photographer Nikos Papadopoulos) to the down-right bizarre (Anthony Zuiker, creator of "CSI"). The complete lineup includes: rap sensation Nicki Minaj; comedienne Kathy Griffin; pop star and author Latoya Jackson; actress and singer Ashlee Simpson; model and actor Tyson Beckford; reality star Kristin Cavallari; rapper Game; model Coco Rocha; Anthony Zuiker,...

When "America's Next Top Model" announced that the next cycle would be an "All-Stars" round, we couldn't be more pleased. In fact, we wondered what took so long?
The show taped a fashion show in Los Angeles on Wednesday (May 11) with all the judges and, hello, the models who are returning to battle it out for what they believed was theirs in the first place.
We're most surprised that delusional, but hilarious Jade Rodan from Cycle 6 wasn't included. And we're sad to see that they've invited "Why the long face?" Alexandria Everett from the current Cycle as she was extremely annoying and we haven't been able to enjoy her elimination long enough.
Who are we excited to see again? We thought Cycle 11's transgender contestant Isis King could stand another chance. And we're happy we'll be able to see if farm girl Laura Kirkpatrick has become worldlier since Cycle 13. And finally,...

There are so many reasons to thank you, Ty-Ty. You’ve provided us with reality ridiculata for 16 straight cycles. You call them cycles. And you created an “all-star” cycle inviting back previous “models” who will once again fight to “win” the title of America’s Next Top “Model.” I simply cannot wait to watch these “human beings”! But I have another reason to thank you: According to the all-stars line-up circulating the Web, you actually recruited some of my suggested alums! (Though The CW is not making any announcements yet.) That’s right: Cycle 4′s Brittany Brower, Cycle 5′s Lisa D’Amato,...

America’s Next Top Model has been putting a lot of weight on the impending winner of Cycle 15 because, this time, she’s not just a winner of a reality modeling show... she's the future of the modeling world. So says Tyra anyway.
But it's true that the prizes at stake are much more serious this season, and perhaps the winner will actually find the sort of success previous champions have not.
With that in mind, the finale seemed more harried and perfunctory than in previous seasons; I thought it had too many components and it was just a giant race to the finish. Let’s break it down, shall we?
The Photoshoot
Finally, Chelsey and Ann shoot their future cover for Vogue Italia, and who should greet them but Valentina Serra, who by the way, sounds like she’s mimicking an Italian accent. It sounds so strangely exaggerated.

This Wednesday is the America's Next Top Model cycle 15 finale, in which we will finally see Tyra's final two, Ann and Chelsey, go head to pretty head in a final Covergirl photo shoot and Roberto Cavalli runway show.
Last week, after Kayla and Jane got the boot, I posed the season's final question to you all: Who should win, Ann or Chelsey? You all replied with compelling reasons for both girls to take home the victory, but the overall consensus, in the comments and the poll, was clear: This season's first-photo champion, Ann, is your overall favorite to win.
But who Will win? Well, if you don't already/want to know, here's my advice: Do not look through this photo album from the finale, which many observant readers have discovered reveals Wednesday's winner.
After the following clip from the episode, I discuss the unintentional spoiler. In other words: Spoiler Alert.

It's that time of the year when a cycle of America's Next Top Model winds down and we all go back to figuring out what to do with our lives. As for the young women vying for the coveted top spot, well ... one of them wins. Some of the others go on to have flourishing modeling careers despite the loss, and some find another calling. Meanwhile, host/executive producer Tyra Banks maintains her youth for another year by feasting on the contestants' tears and broken dreams like a smizing Elizabeth Bathory.
Cycle 15 brought us not only a more serious tone with its "high fashion" — mindedness, but also Kayla Ferrel, a 19-year-old lesbian ex-Hooters waitress from Rockford, Illinois. During the course of the show, she revealed what can only be described in understated terms as a rough upbringing — poverty, abuse, and being bullied about her sexuality to the point where she...

It was Kayla Ferell's goal to be the first openly gay winner of America's Next Top Model, and her beauty and talents as a model got her far toward that goal: All the way to the final four of cycle 15.
It may not have been in Tyra's cards for Kayla to win (as anyone who has been following along here knows I was hoping she would) but there's no doubt the experience was life-changing on many levels for the fresh-faced redhead from Rockford, Illinois.
Well, she's a redhead now, anyway. Just one of the many positives to come out of her time on Top Model. Here's what Kayla had to say about the others:...

Four contestants, one beautiful location and one first-time director. Let's break down this installment of America's Next Top Model, shall we?
The Lesson
The girls meet an acting coach where they work on projecting their voices and emoting. They wail and flail to try to bring out their emotions. It’s pretty entertaining to watch, especially since it seems exceedingly unconvincing.
I actually did think Ann’s version of being scared was incredibly believable, and the highlight of the whole episode was when the acting coach referred to Ann as "Frankenstein." Apologies for ripping on Ann once again, but the poor girl continues to warble every week!
The Challenge
The remaining four girls are directed to present themselves to Franca Sozzani, the editor in chief of Vogue Italia. Franca, who is just as bony and intimidating as her American counterpart, scrutinizes each woman. It’s extremely awkward that Andre Leon Talley...

Ann and Chelsey have booked a place in the 15th cycle finale of America's Next Top Model. The pair secured their chance to fight for the grand prize on Wednesday night's episode of The CW competition when Jane and Kayla were sent home in a double elimination following a "motion editorial" photoshoot directed by Tyra. Tyra said that Kayla was different, interesting and top photographers would create beautiful imagery with her but that she hadn't mastered her body or the angles of her face, while Jane had lacked personality until this week's motion editorial where she shone. This week's episode was all about personality and started with a visit from Andre who warned that personality was the key to being cast and that if they wanted to be successful models they had to learn to express the emotion that a designer wanted. Jane was determined to (more)...

Tyra Banks is adding to her business empire - she has stepped behind the camera to create a mini-movie. The former supermodel has branched out into business, creating a TV empire with her worldwide hit reality show "America's Next Top Model" and her own talk show, as well as being an accomplished photographer.
And she can now add director to her resume - on an upcoming episode of her model hunt, Banks will make and edit an "over-the-top Italian drama" to showcase the remaining beauties in the current season of the competition. Banks admits learning about moviemaking was a challenge.
She tells People.com, "A lot of designers and people in the fashion industry are feeling like the future of fashion is not just still photos, but they've been doing mini-movies where the models are acting things out."

Cycle 15 of 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 8Pm Et on CW) has slowly whittled the 14 model wannabes down to four. But following the "motion editorial" challenge, Tyra Banks halved the competition by eliminating two contestants in one episode.
The judges have favored Ann throughout the cycle, so she was far from a surprise pick to remain in the competition. Banks called her name first and gave her some nondescript advice: "Whatever you're doing, continue to do that."
Kayla, Chelsey and Jane remained. Which one would make the finals? Check the clip.

We’re down to the final four, and Jane appears to have lost her personality in back the baggage claim at the Venice airport. "A lot of designers and people in the fashion industry are feeling like the future of fashion is not just still photos, but they've been doing mini movies where the models are acting things out," Banks, 36, explains. In past cycles of Top Model,...

Tyra Banks is the world's premiere renaissance woman. (If you don't believe me, just ask her.) Her resume is so long that she prints it on sky banners and reading it constitutes a full cardio workout.
The Wednesday on the second-to-last episode of America's Next Top Model, Tyra will add another item to her expanding resume: Motion editorial director.
What is a "motion editorial"? Watch the videos below to see Tyra explain the concept to her final four contestants, Kayla, Ann, Jane and Chelsey. The two girls who don't move well enough for their Tyra-nnical director will get the boot for the season finale--which, by the way, airs December 1. Next week is the cycle 15 blooper reel show.

In the penultimate episode of the season, the girls were treated to the obligatory go-see challenge, which always leads to late contestants and angry agencies. You’d think after 14 cycles, the ladies would know not to be on time, but that certainly wasn’t the case this time around.
Since America's Next Top Model is more “serious” in Cycle 15, Tyra’s also been a lot more involved with the girls and the photoshoots. And I’m happy to see that she’s toned down the theatrics and general obnoxiousness. Tyra actually dispensed genuine, helpful advice this week, a refreshing change from her typical campiness.
The Challenge:
The go-see challenge is one of the most drama filled of the season, with girls trying to see as many designers as possible, but getting lost (and late) in the process. Although Cycle 15 has been less melodramatic (it’s because it’s serious, y’all!
