Gold mining isn’t for the faint of heart. Just ask Todd Hoffman, the former star of the hit reality TV series Gold Rush. While Todd left Gold Rush behind in 2018, he didn’t give up mining. He and his family are still digging for riches in the Alaskan soil. Their quest for precious ore is chronicled in the Gold Rush spinoff series Hoffman Family Gold, which is set to return for its second high-stakes season.

In the words of Jack Hoffman, “No guts, no glory!”
Gold Rush star Todd Hoffman stopped by People Now to tease “something big” coming up this season… and it’s big!
“It’s tough,” he begins to say of season seven. “You’re really going to see me struggle as a leader this year and struggle in my decisions.”
“Last year I dug up $3.3 million in gold,” he says. “This year you’re watching me struggle with not getting gold. And so now, your team starts to struggle and they start to break apart and there’s tension.”

Why Watch? Jack Hoffman desperately wants to jack his hoffman, but it isn’t all that easy. He’s resigned himself to department store catalog models — guys in tight sweaters, guys in genuine Jockeys — because 1) he’s 14 and 2) it’s 1994 and the internet isn’t in every household yet. Tough break being born in 1980. When he hears about a stash of porn mags on the other side of town, he risks being caught by a trio of bullies to secure the necessary visual aids. Funny thing is, his imagination seems to already be pretty strong. Adam Baran’s Jackpot is simple and sweet. It stops just short of being schmaltzy due to a genuinely likable hero in Ethan Navarro’s Jack, and a comic relief porn-star-of-many-wardrobe-changes played by Adam Fleming. Plus, as bully-dodging stories go, this one feels a bit more honest when it comes to danger, consequences and the anticipated payoff. It...

Gold mining is a lot about luck, and viewers will have to judge for themselves if they've struck paydirt with "Santa Todd," the Friday, Dec. 13, episode of "The Dirt," the pre-show to Discovery's hit "Gold Rush."
As always, trying to ride herd on unruly miners and camera guys in "The Dirt" is executive producer-turned-talk-show host Christo Doyle, who got a call one day from the group president of Discovery and TLC Networks.
Says Doyle, "It just came from Eileen O'Neill asking me -- and I wasn't sure if she was serious or not -- for 'A Very Christo Christmas.' So we threw together what ended up being one of the more fun shows we've ever done. There's no question. There's lots of ridiculousness that goes on. Obviously we dig into 'Gold Rush' in the body of the show, but there's a lot of fun stuff that we did.

With 129 million views, 'Rewind YouTube Style' is one of the most viewed videos on the Internet. With 2013 nearing its end, interactive studio Portal A has managed to pull off a year-end recap even bigger than last year. YouTube Rewind 2013 stars more than 50 of the top channels on YouTube, who combine to imitate some of the year's top videos and songs. As with last year, the video is centered around a few hit songs from the year prior, and if you can't guess which song inspires this year's subtitle, just try and remember what the fox says. It would take pages to recount every YouTuber who makes an appearance, so I'll just note a few who I was happy to see: The Slow Mo Guys, Convos With My Two Year Old, adorable Nebraska boy Jack Hoffman, and a practically unrecognizable Hannah Hart as the 'We Can't Stop' version of Miley Cyrus.

The quest for Southern Hemisphere riches ends -- at least for now -- on Friday, Aug. 30, with the finale of the summer series "Gold Rush: South America."
The spinoff of Discovery Channel's hit reality series "Gold Rush" premiered on Aug. 2 and continued its predecessor's habit of finding viewers, becoming the day's No. 1 cable show among adults ages 25-54 and men ages 25-54 and No. 2 in all of television among men 24-54 and men 18-49.
The regular "Gold Rush" series has its fourth season premiere in October.
In a TV universe where it's often difficult to get men to give up their video games and sports to actually sit down and watch reality or scripted television, "Gold Rush" has succeeded by following a motley bunch of gold miners seeking to make a fortune by finding the precious metal.
It also helps that the men do it by driving around huge earth-moving equipment.

Last Friday’s airing of Gold Rush Live on Discovery Channel was the No. 1 series in all of television among Men 25-54/18-49 that night, with over 10 million people watching, according to Nielsen. Tonight, March 1, at 8pm Et/Pt, the network will debut Making the Motherlode, an hourlong, behind-the-scenes look at Gold Rush Season 3. The Mother Lode has evaded the Gold Rush gold miners for three seasons. Todd Hoffman, Jack Hoffman, Dave Turin, Parker Schnabel and Fred Hurt and the Dakota boys have battled against equipment breakdowns, infighting and rough weather for three seasons. From Discovery On the two hour live Gold Rush season three finale, the "Do or Die" season of Discovery's #1 series, it was revealed the gold miners brought in a grand total of 1,158 ounces of gold between the three crews. With work still ongoing, the boys of "Gold Rush" (Fri., 8 p.m. Est on Discovery) are starting to see both their fortunes and their moods improve. After a very stressful and low-earning first season, this second run has seen them scoring more and more impressive loads of goal.
With Jack Hoffman overseeing the latest score, he noted, "It's looking pretty danged good. I just wish we had a ten day run of this material."
There was certainly a visible gold streak running through it. Once it was all sifted and weighted, it was a solid 11.5 additional ounces of pure gold. Hoffman combined it with their earlier collections into a very heavy jar containing all of their fortunes. It's mass was up to 81.57 ounces, which equates to about $130,000.00. That's enough to make a difference in the lives of these hard-working men, even divided.
Hoffman passed the bottle around, with a stern warning to the overjoyed men.
