When Grand Theft Auto V first launched in September 2013, I had originally planned on picking it up right away. After all, I had been a fan of the series since 2001, and it had been 5 years since we’d seen a proper entry. As the months went on, though, I, like many others, began to think about the possibility of the title coming to the recently released Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It made sense, as plenty of publishers do the same thing, and Rockstar Games has ported previous entries in the series over to several different platforms in the past.
So, I waited. And waited, and waited, and waited for Rockstar Games to announce something. Rumors popped up for months, but it wasn’t until E3 2014 that we got an official confirmation that the title would be coming to current-gen platforms, as well as PC. Now, after 428 days of waiting, I...

The Bonnaroo Music Festival, which runs for four days in Manchester Tenn., recently announced their 2014 lineup.
Headlining the 13th annual Bonnaroo will be Elton John, Kanye West, Jack White, Lionel Richie, Vampire Weekend, The Avett Brothers, Phoenix, Skrillex, Arctic Monkeys, Frank Ocean and The Flaming Lips.
Also heading to the Great Stage Park this summer will be Neutral Milk Hotel, Wiz Khalifa, Cut Copy, The Head and the Heart, Lauryn Hill, Broken Bells, Ice Cube, Slightly Stoopid, Fitz and The Tantrums, Cake, Janelle Monae, Amos Lee and John Butler Trio.
West was a surprise choice for the festival, which hasn’t had the rapper in their lineup since 2008 when he walked onto the stage nearly two hours after his scheduled set time. Though he tried to blame Pearl Jam’s extended set, the crowd united in booing him.

The always epic Bonnaroo — a four-day music and camping festival on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tenn. — boasts some huge names this year. Alexander Skarsgård shirtless, just how we like him! In Cut Copy's new "Free Your Mind" music video, the hunky True Blood star plays a cult leader (a super-sexy cult leader, that is!). Wearing only blue hospital pants and an open white robe that shows off Skarsgård's six-pack and hot body, the video shows the 37-year-old actor strolling around a rural compound and checking on his cult members. Adding to Skarsgård's cult-leader look is a long, blond wig. In the vid, Skarsgård is shown doing a number of unusual things: He baptizes a woman in a pool before kissing her on the forehead; he tames a vicious pit bull with his bark; he pees in front of a woman, who...

Tourism Australia and Qantas have teamed up with Icehouse singer Iva Davies to produce a four-minute video to mark the 30th anniversary of ‘Australia’s unofficial anthem’, Great Southern Land.
The film was made before Telstra’s Olympics ad, which featured another unofficial Australian anthem, Down Under by Men At Work – but after The Monkeys’ film for Sydney Opera House, which also features a succession of artists performing popular Aussie anthem Ship Song, by Nick Cave.
Great Southern Land, which was written while Davies was on a Qantas flight over central Australia in 1981, is performed in Ta’s video by artists including Katie Noonan, Van She, Eskimo Joe, The Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and Cut Copy.
Though made without involving Ta’s ad agency, Ddb Sydney, some of the footage in the video was taken from Ddb’s most recent incarnation of the There’s Nothing Like Australia campaign, which cost $4m to produce.

The prolific cellist, composer, singer, and musician Arthur Russell defied musical classification, and two decades after his death his music still resonates with listeners across the musical spectrum. "Freak folk" singer Devendra Banhart is a fan, as is contemporary classical composer Nico Muhly, who referred to Russell as “the first modern musician.” Russell, who made his home in the East Village of New York in the 1970s until his death from AIDS in 1992, touched the lives of some of our most beloved artists, including Allen Ginsberg, Philip Glass, and David Byrne.
To celebrate Russell’s life and legacy, the popular production company Red Hot (in conjunction with Pitchfork), has been raising funds to produce an Arthur Russell tribute album. Rounding up famed musicians such as Twin Shadow, José González, Hot Chip, the Swedish dance chanteuse Robyn and the Scissor Sisters to reinterpret Russell’s songs, the album promises to be...

So, it's summer, and what better season is there for lighting one up, throwing on some chill tunes and whiling away a lazy weekend? While we officially don't condone those sorts of activities, unofficially we might, but either way, if you need to re-up your stash you might track down a couple of laid back bros like Ben and Chon in Oliver Stone's "Savages." Though hopefully, you won't get caught in the crossfire. Squaring off against a Mexican cartel looking to take over their turf, their shared girlfriend O is kidnapped, raising the stakes, and needless to say the results are explosive. And, the tunes on the soundtrack are equally fiery.
M. Ward, Bob Dylan, Peter Tosh (guess which song?), Massive Attack, Cut Copy and more promise to keep things moving in this pretty solid collection of tunes, while Bruce Lash offers up a super chilled over of Talking Heads...

In case you missed it, we resurrected our old Videodrome column a few weeks back: our semi-regular showcase for the best music videos around. Since the form has given the world game-changing helmers in both the blockbuster and arthouse worlds, it's always important to keep an eye on promos, and indeed, one could argue that there's more invention to be found in the short-form than there is in features. So, with no further ado, the five best music videos we've seen in the last few weeks. As ever, any tips and suggestions are more than welcome.
