- Meli Alexander, born in Hartford, CT, grew up in CT, The Bronx, NY and Pasadena, TX. An accomplished chef, she had aspirations of becoming a registered dietitian and food sociologist. However, the acting bug bit her in Seattle when she worked as a background actor in "Grassroots" (2012). That experience inspired her to make the big move to Hollywood.
Her love for entertaining is very evident the moment you see her. Meli has a perfect "Midwest" accent, probably due to living throughout the United States. She has helped produce (and has acted in) projects such as "Who Killed the Bible Salesman?" (2015) and "Blueprint" (2016).
Meli has also appeared in infomercials, local commercials and national commercials, such as 1-800-Flowers and California Almonds (which aired regionally right after the halftime show in Super Bowl LIII). She will be focusing on her lifelong passion for genealogy with a documentary, a reality series and a family history book. In 2022, Meli has reinvented herself as The DNA Chef to solidify her niche in the genealogy world and by focusing on her desire to learn and teach others about family food history.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Meli Alexander
