Exclusive: The Love List has released its inaugural list highlighting the best 14 unproduced romance-centered screenplays and pilots of the year just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The list was read and curated by a group of anonymous readers, in addition to writer Lindsay Grossman and Olive Bridge TV exec Madison Jones, who launched the Love List last month.
“We were blown away by the response we got, especially in the Love List’s first year,” Jones told Deadline. “We were really encouraged by the quality of submissions sent our way. And we’re excited we’re able to highlight a lot of up-and-coming writers too.”
Grossman added, “Our hope is that these projects will be read by the industry at large and that they will ultimately be sold and produced. Coming out of a pandemic, and then a double-strike, we know there’s a need for stories that inspire and touch our hearts,...

Jonathan Majors has lost another role in the wake of his recent assault conviction. The actor had been slated to star as Dennis Rodman in 48 Hours In Vegas, but multiple sources have heard that Jonathan Majors has been dropped from the movie.

Welcome to this week’s “Just for Variety.”
Jonathan Majors is getting ready to star as Dennis Rodman in “48 Hours in Vegas,” Lionsgate’s upcoming film about the former Chicago Bulls player’s infamous weekend trip to Sin City in the middle of the 1998 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz.
Majors, who stars in the new Korean War drama “Devotion,” says he hasn’t talked to Rodman yet. “It’s on my list,” he told me at the Governors Awards. “I know where he’s at and I think he’s open-hearted and wants to collaborate. I want to do justice by him.”
Two years before the story in the film takes place, Rodman created quite a stir when he showed up at a book signing in New York City for his memoir, “Bad As I Wanna Be,” in full white wedding-dress drag. I asked Majors if there’s a...

Jonathan Majors is in early talks to play Dennis Rodman in the upcoming Lionsgate movie “48 Hours in Vegas” about the basketball star’s infamous trip during the 1998 NBA finals.
News broke last August that the vacation that would become sports legend was set to be adapted into a film from Lionsgate and Lord Miller. “48 Hours in Vegas” will chronicle the journey after Rodman, then a star player for the Chicago Bulls, asked his coach Phil Jackson if he could take a 48-hour trip to Las Vegas in the middle of the 1998 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz.
While Rodman and his Bulls superstar teammate Michael Jordan recently revisited these events in the ESPN docuseries “The Last Dance,” the new movie is said to paint its own picture of the “madcap adventure” that ensued as Rodman and a skittish assistant Gm developed a surprising new friendship.

The Lego Batman Movie is fast approaching… well, no, it’s not… it’s far away, but there’s no imagery to keep you from getting depressed, and it shows off vehicles.
It isn’t really anything all that new, because it’s just something we saw in the Comic-Con trailer (see below), but it has more BatFrigates than any other image we’ve seen before, and that’s something.
As I said, it’s still oh so far away, hitting February 10th, so we have to take what we can get.
Mark your calendar, and have fun with this.
