Jason Isbell initially reached a broader audience as a third guitarist and sometimes songwriter in the Southern rock band Drive-By Truckers, adding a fresh perspective and voice to their albums Decoration Day and The Dirty South. Those rock credentials were on full display for the second night of Isbell’s 2018 Ryman Auditorium residency, with a set list that looked all the way back to the beginning of his remarkable career.

Last Friday, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit released Live From the Ryman, a collection of performances recorded during his six-night residency at the famed Nashville venue in 2017. Starting Monday evening, he returns to the Ryman for another group of six intimate shows, with support from singer-songwriter Amanda Shires — Isbell’s wife and fellow member of the 400 Unit — as well as Bully, Jeff the Brotherhood, Diarrhea Planet and Molly Tuttle. Isbell spends a significant portion of his time on the road, but says this annual Nashville tradition always feels like coming home.

Beloved Nashville power-punk band Diarrhea Planet had already booked their farewell shows when Jason Isbell’s camp called offering an item on every Music City musician’s bucket list: a gig at the Ryman.
“Being [from] Nashville, if somebody calls you and asks you to play at the Ryman, you can’t really pass it up,” frontman Jordan Smith tells Rolling Stone of what’s slated to be the serious band with the infamously shitty name’s last hurrah, opening the fifth show of Isbell’s six-night run next month at...

"It's crazy," Rachael Ray said of her eighth annual Feedback Party at South By Southwest. "It's like a double Christmas."

Lana Del Rey and Dan Auerbach are apparently collaborating on the former's next album "Ultraviolence," while the latter has some explaining to do. The recent "Once Upon a Dream" cover artist Tweeted a photo of her and the Black Keys frontman together, with her arms around his neck, each appropriately stoic. "Me and Dan Auerbach are excited to present you Ultraviolence," she posted, which Auerbach retweeted. Del Rey had announced the "Ultraviolence" title when she premiered her "Tropico" video last month, with a May 1 release date. With what little one could cull from the statement, the pairing sounds to be more than just a duet or some guitarwork: the guitarist and singer could likely be producing the set. That scenery in black and white could be the Akron Analog studio near Auerbach's Ohio hometown or at his Easy Me and Dan Auerbach are excited to present you Ultraviolence pic.twitter.
