Tony Harris has always been about getting answers. The longtime journalist and The Proof Is Out There host looked for just that when he sat down to interview Cindy and George Anthony during Casey Anthony’s Parents: The Lie Detector Test. This two-hour special, simulcasting on A&e and Lifetime on January 4, explores the 2008 murder case of Caylee Anthony, which dominated headlines, tore at the heartstrings, and ripped apart a family. The two-year-old from Orlando went missing after being last seen on June 16, 2008. The five-month-long search ended when her remains, duct tape stretched over the jaw and skull, were found in woods close to her grandparents’ home. Casey, her mother, was charged and later acquitted for the two-year-old’s murder in 2011. Over the years lingering questions have remained on what happened to Caylee with Casey and her parents sticking to their sides of the story. Now George and Cindy have decided...

George and Cindy Anthony
The murder of three-year-old Caylee Anthony continues to make news 15 years after the child’s body was recovered in 2008. Caylee’s mom, Casey, was back in the news in 2022 with the release of the three-part limited series Casey Anthony: Where The Truth Lies which featured interviews with the acquitted accused murderer. In the special, Casey accuses her father of killing Caylee and then staging her death. Casey continues to claim her father molested her and suggested he may also have molested her daughter.
Casey’s parents, George and Cindy, have had enough and are fighting back with their own special, Casey Anthony’s Parents: The Lie Detector Test. The two-hour special is hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist Tony Harris (CNN Newsroom w/Tony Harris) and will air on A&e and Lifetime on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 9pm Et/Pt. For eight weeks in the summer of 2011, the world was glued to the “social media trial of the century.” Facing the death penalty was Casey Anthony, then 25, accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, and dumping the body in a wooded area near her parents’ home in Orlando, Florida.
The circumstantial evidence against her was compelling — including a 911 call made by her mother in which she described the smell of a decomposing body in Anthony’s car — but Anthony was found not guilty of murdering her daughter.
She was sentenced to four years, one year for each lie she told police; with three years time served, she had only 10 days left in custody before walking free.
No one was more outraged by that turn of events than Nancy Grace, the prosecutor-turned-tv pundit who dubbed Anthony the “Tot Mom” and who covered the case...

In the documentary "Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies," which premieres on Peacock on Nov. 29, Anthony revisits the infamous case surrounding the death of her daughter Caylee and reveals new details about what she alleges happened.
On July 15, 2008, Caylee's grandmother called 911 and reported that she hadn't seen her granddaughter for 31 days. Anthony initially lied to detectives during the subsequent investigation and claimed Caylee had been kidnapped by a nanny. She was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder, though she was eventually found not guilty on that charge.
Now, a decade after the case became a media frenzy, Anthony revisits what happened in the three-part documentary. Ahead, check out some of the biggest revelations.

The parents of Casey Anthony are speaking out in a new interview — and they are pulling no punches about their daughter.
“I think Casey is mentally ill,” Cindy Anthony, her mother, tells interviewer Chris Hansen on Monday’s episode of Crime Watch Daily. A clip is above.
Cindy Anthony also claims that her 31-year-old daughter suffers from seizures and doesn’t always remember what happens during them. Her allegation isn’t new: In 2011, George and Cindy Anthony appeared on Dr. Phil and claimed that their daughter suffers from grand mal seizures.

Just two months after Casey Anthony spoke out for the first time since her 2011 acquittal, she’s living a more secluded life than ever, multiple sources tell People.
“There were a lot of people who assumed that she’d someday make big money on her first interview,” says a source who worked with her legal team. “And then she gave it away to the Associated Press. So there are all these people who thought that they were going to be part of it when she made the money, and then Casey went behind their backs and gave an interview for free.

On December 11, 2008, a meter reader stepped into the woods near Casey Anthony‘s home. As he looked for a place to relieve himself, he kicked a garbage bag. A skull rolled out.
The discovery ended a five-month-long search for 2-year-old Caylee Anthony, who had been reported missing that July. The details were gruesome: duct tape was stretched over the jaw of the skull. Items from Caylee Anthony’s room, including linens and clothes, were found with her remains.
Authorities combed the area, and soon found dozens of bones belonging to Caylee. Prosecutors charged Casey Anthony in her death and decided to seek the death penalty.
