Dennis Temko
- Editorial Department
Dennis Temko was born in San Diego, California in 1984. He attended elementary through high school in San Diego. While enrolled at Pacific Beach Middle School, Dennis took a film editing class. The editing class first sparked his interest in the film and television industry. Afterwards, Dennis continued to pursue this interest when he partook in summer activities also related to the film television. He furthered his concentration on the field when he took another editing class while enrolled at La Jolla High School and interned for a local production company. In 2002, Dennis graduated from La Jolla High School and accepted admission to the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Dennis' interest in film and television lay dormant while he attended school in Boulder Colorado. While there he instead decided to work towards a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. In his fourth year however, his sister's friend, a cameraman for MTV's "The Real World" offered Dennis the opportunity to work on set for the The Real World Denver. Dennis took the opportunity and worked on set as a Production Assistant for a several weeks. Shortly thereafter, and within four years, Dennis graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He then moved back to San Diego.
In San Diego, Dennis flirted with the idea that he move to Los Angeles to build upon the skills he gained on set in Denver. A month after he had moved home to San Diego Dennis moved to Los Angeles. There, he offered to work without pay to gain experience. Dennis worked on several low budget sets and made valuable contacts. Dennis received a break however when the production company that produced The Real World Denver hired him on as a tape logger at their post-production facility located in Los Angeles. For the next year, Dennis was promoted from logger to dub tape room and then to assistant editor. He worked on shows such as The Simple Life, Real World Road Rules Challenge, and The Real World. Unfortunately, he was later injured and forced to leave his budding career.
In 2009, Dennis chose to pursue a legal education and accepted admission to California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. In his summers off from school, Dennis interned for the San Diego Office of the Public Defender and San Diego County Counsel. It was while Dennis interned for San Diego County Counsel that he discovered his affinity for appellate work. Appellate work appealed to Dennis for its heavy reliance on research and writing. Dennis obtained his Juris Doctor in 2012. Thereafter, he accepted employment at his father's firm where he handles family law appellate matters.
Today, Dennis lives in University Town Square in San Diego, California with his fiancé Haley Berger. Dennis continues to work with his father and handles family law appeals and writs. His office is located in Downtown San Diego.
