Eve Baxter’s visits from Air Force Academy will be few and far between when Last Man Standing returns for Season 8.
The Tim Allen comedy is poised to include fewer appearances by Kaitlyn Dever, whose star has risen exponentially in 2019 thanks to leading roles in the feature film Booksmart and the Netflix miniseries Unbelievable — the latter of which earned the actress her first Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award nominations (as well as a three-way tie for TVLine’s Performer of the Year, along with costars Merritt Wever and Toni Collette).

Last Man Standing is about to inherit Thursday Night Football‘s time slot — and the Baxters try their darndest to break the news to Terry Bradshaw in TVLine’s exclusive first look at Season 8.
The Jan. 2 cold open is the culmination of a series of Lms promos that ran throughout the fall (which you can watch here and here). In those commercials, Bradshaw and Tim Allen’s Mike Baxter sat down to watch — what else? — Thursday Night Football. Now that the season is over, Mike and Vanessa (played by Nancy Travis) have to tell the former Pittsburgh Steelers Qb that...

Foreign exchange student Jen and Eve were both on Last Man Standing Season 7 Episode 11, treating fans to some hilarious interactions with Mike Baxter.
When Vaness first met Jen in Last Man Standing Season 7 Episode 5, it was clear that Mike was going to struggle with having the teen live in his house. He wasn't 100% on board with housing the young girl, but he did it for his wife.
Mike and Jen are both more alike than they each realize. They both speak their minds and don't hold back on their opinions. However, when they were thrown under the same roof, they stopped being real and started being polite.
Despite his harshness, Mike is a good guy at heart, and he wanted to find some common ground with Jen. It makes sense; the girl is going to be living in his house for six months.
However, the two couldn't find one thing they had in common.

On Friday’s new “Last Man Standing,” Mike Baxter is trying to bond with his family’s foreign exchange student, Jen — and immediately fumbles.
In a sneak peek from Episode 711, called “Common Ground,” which is exclusive to TheWrap, Mike (Tim Allen) and his daughter Eve (guest star Kaitlyn Dever) sit down to watch a game of American football with Jen (guest star Krista Marie Yu). Now, Mike is all too excited to answer any question Jen might have about the sport — until she starts inquiring about things he himself can’t make heads or tail of.
“Why do they wear those face masks? Is it so they don’t bite each other?” Yeah, Mike doesn’t know. Hmm, they seem to be using their hands more than their feet — why isn’t it call handball? He honestly has no idea.

It's no secret that Last Man Standing's Mike Baxter's (Tim Allen) has politics that can sometimes raise a few eyebrows, nor is it news that he's not exactly a fan of the Washington machinery either. Well, in the first episode of 2019, Mike makes an oh-so-timely crack about former FBI director James
