Darlene Popovic is a woman of many talents - Comedienne, actress,
singer. She has brightened innumerable San Francisco Bay Area
productions. One of her specialties is playing multiple roles. She has
presented her one-woman shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New
York, displaying her versatility in comedy, music and drama. She has
performed in many one-person shows and recently completed a 3-month run
where she played 6 different characters to rave reviews "... we get the
astonishing talents of Darlene Popovic, who carries the entire show."
Darlene played 5 roles in Mama Parmigiana, written by John Stark, the
entire female cast, 7 roles, in the SF production of Paul Rudnick's
Jeffrey, at Theatre on the Square and 5 roles in No Way to Treat a Lady
at TheatreWorks in Palo Alto and the Cohoes Music Hall in Upstate New
York. Dar has performed in Cabaret Conventions both in San Francisco
and New York. Among her TV appearances are: Return to the Streets of
San Francisco and Midnight Caller. Her CD "Love and Laughter" received
critical acclaim..."displaying a lovely singing voice and hilarious
musical comedy." Her Kander & Ebb cabaret presentation at the New
Conservatory Theatre in August 2010, received rave reviews, "...Popovic
moves between comedy and drama with ease." She studied Opera Theatre
Arts and Classical Voice at Indiana University and the San Francisco
Conservatory of Music. She studied acting at the American Conservatory
Theatre. Her many awards include 5 San Francisco Bay Area Golds, 4 San
Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle and 2 Dean Goodman Choice
Awards.
