(ABC/Liliane Lathan)-James Pickens Jr. Only three actors present in the Grey’s Anatomy pilot are still with the show in its 19th season: Chandra Wilson, and James Pickens Jr. For Pickens, who had built his TV career as a recurring guest star on multiple series — including The X-Files, Private Practice, and Roseanne/The Conners — getting a chance to be a series regular was a welcome change. Of course, he had no idea that Grey’s would still be going in its 19th season, but he did tell us that, when they shot the pilot, he had a feeling he was about to be part of something great. Spoiler alert: Don’t read if you’re yet to see the “Grey’s Anatomy” fall finale.
“Grey’s Anatomy”s fall finale was not for the faint of heart. On Thursday’s episode, Dr. Meredith Grey’s (Ellen Pompeo) house went out in flames during a lightning storm, likely destroying the home she shared with her late husband, Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey).
The devastating moment happened when lightning struck the house with Maggie (Kelly McCreary), Winston (Anthony HiIl) and Meredith’s kids inside.
“It’s just stuff,” Meredith told her kids, as they watched their belongings go up in flames. The only material item to make it through the fire was the Post-It note on which Meredith and Derek got married all those years ago.

[Warning: The below contains major spoilers for the Grey’s Anatomy Season 19, Episode 3, “Let’s Talk About Sex.”] The new intern class on Grey’s Anatomy probably would have chosen scut work any day over their assignment in the October 30 episode, Season 19, Episode 3, “Let’s Talk About Sex.” Yes, Addison (Kate Walsh) is in town, and she, Bailey (Chandra Wilson), and Jo (Camilla Luddington) are having the interns record sex-education videos in the lecture room for teenagers’ edification. And there’s even a live audience of teens who are… well, less than captivated by the interns’ flat reading of sexual health facts. Liliane Lathan/ABC Addison recognizes Adams (Niko Terho), since — as we now know — Adams was Derek’s nephew. She greets Adams as “Shep,” but Adams interrupts her and addresses her as “Dr. Montgomery,” doing his best to hide his familial connection to the Shepherds from his fellow ...

The actor, who is known for his roles on shows like Shadowhunters and Glee, had a surreal experience upon walking onto the set for the first time, as he recalled to TV Insider’s Jim Halterman. (Credit: ABC/Liliane Lathan) “It feels very real, I mean, you feel like you’re stepping into a real hospital,” Shum Jr. marveled. “There’s so many nurses and other doctors walking around, it really doesn’t differentiate between reality and the Grey’s world. So it was nice to step in there.” As for donning the iconic Grey Sloan Memorial scrubs and jacket, Shum Jr.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 18 is wrapping up next week with a two-hour finale. The show has a track record of some tearjerker finales, so it might be a good idea to have some tissues handy for the next three episodes — especially since they are expected to wrap up a rather emotional plot involving Link (Chris Carmack) and Jo (Camila Luddington).
In last week’s episode, a cancer patient from Link’s past named Simon (Cedric Sanders) returned to Grey Sloan Memorial with his wife Kristen (Bianca Santos), who is now eight months pregnant with their first son. He’s given a terminal diagnosis, and it’s not clear yet if he’ll be able to survive long enough to meet his baby boy.
“It’s not often that ‘Grey’s’ will have a patient do more than an episode,” Santos told TheWrap of the unfolding storyline. “I’m really crediting the...

It’s time to meet another branch of the family tree of Grey’s Anatomy, with an actor familiar to Shondaland fans starting to recur with the March 31 episode. Rome Flynn, whom fans know as Gabriel Maddox from How to Get Away With Murder (formerly part of ABC’s Tgit lineup with Grey’s), is coming in as Dr. Winston Ndugu’s (Anthony Hill) brother, Wendell, according to Variety. He is “a typical younger sibling with a mischievous sense of humor,” and “he’s hoping to impress Winston with his new sales rep role at a medical technology company.” ABC/Liliane Lathan In addition to wondering what the siblings’ dynamic will be like onscreen, we’re curious what we’ll see from Wendell with Winston’s wife, Dr. Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary), and even her sisters, Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone). The photo from...
