Type O Negative’s seminal album Bloody Kisses turned 30 this year, and Z2 Comics is celebrating the occasion with a graphic novel and picture-disc vinyl reissue.
The graphic novel will feature 12 stories based on songs from what is widely considered the ultimate gothic metal album. The book includes art and stories from contributors Andy Biersack (Black Veil Brides), Carla Harvey (Butcher Babies), Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), and Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory), and more. A release is set for spring 2024.
“Type O Negative is one of those rare bands that created a musical genre by their very existence, and Bloody Kisses is one of those unexpected glorious releases that flipped the table of what was expected from hard rock and metal bands when it came out,” commented editor-in-chief Rantz Hoseley via a press release. “Thirty years later, there’s no band that can go head to head with what they accomplished with that album,...

Exclusive: LA-based comic book publisher Sumerian is lining up a comic book series based on the 2000 horror classic American Psycho, starring Christian Bale as iconic madman Patrick Bateman.
The four-issue comic book series, publishing later this year, will have a dual narrative, one showing a different perspective of Bateman’s killing spree (with a notable “twist”), and another revealing a modern day arc with “surprising connections to the past”.
The thriller series will alight on “an all-new psychopath as social media obsessed millennial, Charlie (Charlene) Carruthers, goes on a downward spiral filled with violence. Drug fueled partying leads to bloodshed as Charlie leaves a trail of bodies on her way to discovering the truth about her dark nature.” Below is some more art work.
Sumerian struck the deal with producer Pressman Film. The company says the deal includes the rights to use Christian Bale’s likeness in character as portrayed in the film.

2021 was an excellent year for TV.
There were some great offerings on broadcast and streaming, keeping us engrossed in a tough year.
TV Fanatic staff compiled a list of some of the year's best and worst new dramas.
Did your favorite show make the cut?
Scroll down to find out.
The Big Leap - Best
Definitely falling into the "guilty pleasure" category, The Big Leap somehow creates empathetic, quirky yet relatable characters, led by dreamy Scott Foley and sprinkled with some great dancing.
But it might be the behind-the-scenes-of-a-reality-contest-show aspect that most allures. A lot of it is ridiculous, but a lot of it is really fun, and also heartfelt.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan - Best
Of all the Power spinoffs, the one centered around the number one Power villain felt like a risky endeavor. At best, Kanan was a polarizing figure, and centering an entire series around his...

Quiver Distribution isn’t a major name in the entertainment business, but that is gradually changing as the Canadian entertainment company has managed to snag a series of notable projects and used the pandemic to bolster its library of content.
Launched in 2019 by former eOne executive Berry Meyerowitz and former Lionsgate Films president Jeff Sackman, Quiver enjoyed success with the release of the Kevin James comedy “Becky” and “Crisis,” a thriller starring Gary Oldman and Evangeline Lily, both of which were released in select theaters before rising to the top of the VOD charts. “Crisis” also took the top spot at the speciality box office when it was released on Feb. 26. Quiver’s upcoming releases include the off-beat comedy “The Exchange” (pictured) and “The Survivalist,” an action-thriller starring John Malkovich and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The goal, Meyerowitz told Variety, is to release one to two movies monthly, which will add up to roughly 20 movies annually.

The movie stars Justin Hartley (“This Is Us”), Avan Jogia (“Zombieland: Double Tap”), Jennifer Irwin (“Bad Teacher”) and Ed Oxenbould (“Wildlife”). Emmy Award-winner Tim Long (“The Simpsons”) penned the script.
Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.

The first teaser for Cameron Boyce's final onscreen project, Paradise City, is officially here. The clip, which dropped on May 1, features the late actor as Simon, an aspiring rock star who finds himself enwrapped in the dark side of Hollywood. "Do you think that devil worship is real in Hollywood?" Boyce says in one scene. "Like the whole black magic, and all that stuff." His costar replies, "Oh, I definitely think there's good and evil spirits, and black magic is real."
According to Paradise City's Instagram account, a portion of the program's profits will be donated to The Cameron Boyce Foundation. The organization launched this past July, shortly after the actor died from an epileptic seizure at the age of 20. "The series was filmed just months before his tragic passing," the show wrote. "He gave us an incredible performance as a young musician, band leader and aspiring Diy executive in the music business.

More and more Hollywood stars, top musicians, pro athletes, and influential YouTubers are joining the vegan ranks, so the competition for the Hottest Vegan Celebrities of 2018 contest was tougher than ever — but Jaden Smith and the Chloe x Halle sisters have come out on top.
In addition to being an entertainment industry jack-of-all-trades, actor and musician Jaden — who’s newly vegan — reveals that he’s also a whiz in the kitchen. Discussing his favorite meals in an interview with Food & Wine, he said, “I do cook at home because I can make meals for myself really easily, some brown rice, quinoa, beans, maybe some kale, maybe some herb aioli.” And when he’s visiting his famous family, he has plenty of options, too: “Usually, at my parents’ house, there are vegan pancakes,” he added.
Chloe and Halle Bailey went vegan after eating meat-free for a week with their mother, and they’ve never looked back.

American Satan is the kind of film that might very well pop up as an Alamo Drafthouse Weird Wednesday screening in the coming years. It’s a shame its distributor will probably not strike a 35mm print for the occasion. The film is a maddening hyper-nightmare of smoke, hypodermic needles, and hard rock that somehow is far more endearing than it ought to be, with a cast led by musician Andy Biersack as Johnny Faust, a recent high school graduate from Columbus, Ohio who lands in La seeking fame and fortune. Johnny and Vic (Booboo Stewart) fortunately have a plan: they hook up with UK-based group The Relentless — who’ve also come out to La seeking fame with manager Ricky (John Bradley) — and add a sexy rebel Cassandra (Tori Black) to the group. Pure talent isn’t enough as Johnny learns the hard way and soon the group finds themselves...

Black Veil Brides were already setting the world on fire when I first talked to founder/frontman Andy Biersack, and since then their fame has shot up to all new levels. Their ambitious new rock opera Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones was pushed back a bit from last year, but the band has rewarded their fans' patience with a dramatic new presentation, including the full-length companion film Legion of the Black – a dark fantasy tale which had a limited theatrical release before its online pay-per-view premiere. I finally got to take in this massive album, and as a fan of their sound and larger-than-life image, I'd say it was worth the wait. Right out of the gate I was impressed with the album artwork by acclaimed artist Richard Villa (a long-time visual collaborator with the band), who also created the creepy promotional art for the film.
