Ryan Reynolds is widely known for his tongue-in-cheek humor. Luckily for him, Deadpool, which is probably the most popular role he has ever played, also has the same kind of humor and does not even mind taking digs at DC or Marvel, despite being a superhero.
Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool makes plenty of jokes in the movies. Although he is a Marvel character himself, he does not spare the Marvel Cinematic Universe or Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, for that matter. His fourth-wall-breaking humor sees him make the most unhinged jokes about the rival DC movie universe. However, if there is one thing about which the Merc with the Mouth does not like joking, it is his home country Canada.

If you watched the recent “Deadpool & Wolverine” trailer, which brought the whole “Deadpool” gang back together, mostly, you’ll have noticed three absent players critical to the “Deadpool” franchise. One is easy to explain. Following a sexual assault allegation and alarming behavior afterward (including talking sh*t about star Ryan Reynolds), T.J. Mackey is persona non-grata and no longer playing Weasel. Zazie Beetz once said she would love to return for “Deadpool 3,” but her character Domino is nowhere to be seen, and neither is Josh Brolin as Cable.

Dceu is on its final stretch as the primary cinematic universe for DC comic characters. With ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ marking the end of an era, a new era led by Gunn and Safran is set to take the reins. While Dceu enjoyed success with films like ‘Wonder Woman,’ ‘Aquaman,’ and the first ‘Shazam,’ it struggled with sequels and maintaining a cohesive storyline.
Despite the unexpected success of ‘Shazam’ in 2019, its sequel became one of the lowest-grossing Dceu films. However, it wasn’t due to Zachary Levi’s performance, widely acclaimed as a perfect fit for Shazam. Under Gunn’s guidance, some familiar faces, like Jason Momoa, are making the transition to the new cinematic universe, with Momoa rumored to portray Lobo instead of Aquaman. Sean Gunn is also moving from his role as Weasel in Suicide Squad to a more prominent position as Maxwell Lord in ‘Superman: Legacy...

Even though audiences might not exactly be counting the days until another Shazam! movie — this year’s sequel Fury of the Gods was savaged by critics and DC fans — star Zachary Levi says he’d be pumped for more installments.
“I would love to be able to do more iterations of it,” Levi said in an interview with Comicbook.com. “I would love to collaborate with Nathan Fillion’s Green Lantern.”
But if Shazam won’t be flying onto screens anytime soon, would Levi be interested in playing another DC character?
When asked the question, the actor seemed skeptical that jumping into a new DC character would even be possible. Reminded that Sean Gunn, the actor (and brother of DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn) who played Weasel and Calendar Man in 2021’s The Suicide Squad has been cast as villain Maxwell Lord in the new DC Universe, Levi quipped, “Listen, when...
