Walk the Moon is going on an indefinite hiatus. The band behind hits “Shut Up and Dance” and “Anna Sun” made the announcement on social media today.
“The time has come for us to take a good, long break from touring and making records together. When we do reconvene, that will be a glorious day. And the truth is, we don’t know when that’s gonna be,” frontman/singer/keyboardist Nicholas Petricca said.
Petricca expressed his gratitude to Walk the Moon’s guitarist Eli Maiman and drummer Sean Waugaman, its team, and its dedicated fan base.
“This summer will mark 18 years since I started the band that would change its name to Walk the Moon — half my life ago,” Petricca said. “For half of my life, this band has been the main focus of my creative love and energy.… It is an enormous act of love to carefully lift...

Before the lights go down in Hollywood’s iconic Pantages theater for Moulin Rouge! The Musical’s North American tour, the ensemble cast struts around the extravagant set in a preview of what’s to come. With a windmill on one side of the stage and a massive elephant on the other, the flamboyant spectacle fits right in at the Pantages’ lavish theater.
“Some shows come into the Pantages, and they look like the show was designed specifically for the Pantages,” says Hollywood Pantages Theater president Jeff Loeb. “I love watching patrons walk into the lobby who have never been there before, slack-jawed at the beauty of the theater itself. Then you go into the auditorium, and the lighting sets immediately transport you with the theater. It’s a concert with the architecture of the theater. Then the preshow starts and it just...

Evolving from its initial launch two years ago, Music Moments is now expanding to reach a bilingual audience with Fonsi being the first Latin artist featured in the digital storytelling series.
Luis Fonsi’s recording is a powerful rendition of his song “Girasoles” in both Spanish and English.
“I’m excited to be the first Latin artist to join the Alzheimer’s Association Music Moments campaign. ‘Girasoles’ is a special song for me because it talks about love, coming together, and being there for someone, no matter what,” said Fonsi. “I hope the song will resonate not only for those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s but also for their loved ones and caregivers who also need that love.”

Pop-rock hitmakers Walk the Moon released their new video for “Timebomb,” that’s reminiscent of White Stripes’ stark colors and minimalism. The Ohio quartet stage the clip in various vividly tinted rooms of a makeshift house — singing and playing against color-coded backgrounds between close-up flashes of women’s faces. Frontman Nicholas Petricca dances vigorously in several scenes, and drummer Sean Waugaman occasionally bashes a bright yellow drum set.
Walk the Moon issued “Timebomb,” a non-album single, in mid-January. The track follows their fourth LP, 2017’s What If Nothing, which featured the singles “One Foot,...

Ohio dance crew Walk the Moon broke through with 2014’s upbeat stomper “Shut Up and Dance,” a song that became a rare modern rock hit that went three-times platinum.
After their hit, the band went through a period of band tension and family tragedy, which they addressed on their follow-up, 2017’s What if Nothing. “There was a lot to navigate before we could really come back together and make music,” frontman Nicholas Petricca told Rolling Stone last year.
They’re not stopping. The band just released a new single that...

Marking World Water Day, One Drop, the international foundation created by Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté to bring safe water access to people across the globe, is proud to report that its signature fundraising event, One Night for One Drop imagined by Cirque du Soleil, has surpassed the $35 million goal it set for itself when the event inaugurated in 2013.
Presented by MGM Resorts International, the sixth edition of One Night for One Drop was held on Friday, March 2, when some of the biggest names in entertainment came together inside the Michael Jackson One Theatre at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, for this year’s one-night-only production inspired by the life of Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Jewel. The sold-out performance and its gala celebration catapulted One Drop past its original fundraising goal.
Highlights from the show included Jewel’s beautiful hit songs. An unforgettable opening with Arab’s Got Talent winner Emanne Beasha.

The Loveloud concert will be held on August 26, 2017 in Orem, Utah at the Brent Brown Ballpark at Uvu.

2015 has already been a densely packed year of massive collaborations for Martin Garrix, but it looks as though he’s about to add another to the list. A post to the website of L.A.-based Truth Studios has revealed that he came to the recording studio accompanied by Nicholas Petricca of Walk The Moon.
Cincinatti-based Walk The Moon gained notoriety for the massive success of “Shut Up And Dance” from their Talking Is Hard LP earlier in the year, but have yet to collaborate with electronic music artists in any significant capacity. According to Truth Studios’ post, the session consisted mostly of Garrix and Petricca brainstorming ideas with only base-level recordings made.
With Martin Garrix’s sound leaning more towards melody in recent months, Petrticca’s influence may well prove a worthwhile endeavor for both artists. While neither of them have publicly commented on their upcoming collaboration as of yet,...
