Katie Hanson became the seventh person to leave Survivor: Philippines this week, and just like that, the show was out of beauty queens. (Former Miss Utah Angie Layton was voted out the third week.)
The former Miss Delaware, 22, tells People what went wrong – and why she feels Jeff Probst had it out for her.
You were voted off in part because you were weak in challenges.
I wasn't the most athletic person out there; I totally admit that. But they showed my failure again and again, and glossed over others. In one challenge, I had trouble running up a hill,...

When Russell Swan played Survivor in 2009, his experience ended badly. On day 15 of Survivor: Samoa, a dehydrated Swan collapsed during a challenge, nearly scaring the khakis off host Jeff Probst. Three years later, he returned to the game only to face one of the worst losing streaks in Survivor history and being voted out fourth. Swan, a 45-year-old attorney from Pennsylvania, tells People about his discouragement and depression - and what he really thinks about Jeff Probst. So, it didn't go well this time out. What was the problem? I'm not going to throw [my tribesmates] under the bus, but this is a hard game.

You’d expect shows on youth-oriented networks like The CW or Fox to push the boundaries of sexual content on network television, but The Good Wife on stodgy old CBS has never been shy either. Two years ago, the legal drama aired a guy-on-gal oral sex scene between Peter and Alicia Florrick, and tonight’s episode features another incident that somehow slipped by network censors. I won’t spoil the details, but let’s just say it involves Kalinda, her (recently reunited with) husband, and…um, ice cream. If what I think is happening in the scene actually happens, well,...

She was young. She was cute. And she was the third person voted out of Survivor: Philippines. Angie Layton, a 20-year-old former Miss Teen Utah, tells People about the ups and downs of Survivor stint - and that she's not a dumb blonde. You came into this game as the youngest contestant … and with a background in beauty pageants. How do you think that affected the others' perception of you? They perceived me as a dumb blonde. You know, here's the pageant girl from Utah. So I was stereotyped from the start. I knew I'd have to give it my all,...

When "Survivor" host Jeff Probst asked the members of the struggling Matsing tribe what they would change if they could, he probably didn't expect either of the responses he received. Roxy Morris said that she wished her tribe could stop working so hard around camp. That wasn't the right answer and Roxy was voted out minutes later. But Angie Layton's answer may be the one that lives on longest in "Survivor" lore. "That we could have cookies," replied the 20-year-old former Miss Utah Teen USA. Angie outlasted her cookies comment and she outlasted Roxy, who leveled charges...

Another week, another Matsing casualty on Survivor: Philippines. Beauty queen Angie Layton became the third Matsing tribe member in a row to be voted off on Wednesday night, and Et caught up with the 20-year-old Provo, Utah native to get her thoughts on her ouster.
ETOnline: What made you decide you wanted to be on the show?
Angie: I love the competition, I love competing, I'm a very competitive person. The challenges … I got so excited watching them, and [watching] TV I'm like, 'I want to do that!' That really struck me. And [I wanted to have the] overall experience; it's something different.
ETOnline: In terms of last night's challenge, it seemed like either people had no problem at all or it was really difficult. Can you talk about the challenge a little bit?
Angie: The challenge for me, the problem with that was I was a little bit slower. I dove in and I had a hard time getting the buoy...

In most circumstances, clapping is something one does to show approval of someone else’s actions — like when a person throws a touchdown pass or nails a ballet recital. But that’s not what it meant when Survivor’s Jeff Probst clapped at poor Angie Layton during Tribal Council after she talked about wanting cookies. No, Jeff’s repeated palm strikes — while accompanied by an admonishment to “Wake up!” was something else altogether. And I asked Angie just how she felt about that treatment on the newest edition of the InsideTV Podcast. I also asked her how she felt about...

Angie Layton is the latest castaway, and the third Matsing member in a row, to be voted off "Survivor: Philippines." She tells Zap2it she doesn't remember saying she couldn't do the challenge.
Was "Survivor" pretty hard for you? It seemed like you weren't really prepared for how hard it was actually going to be.
"I think I was pretty prepared, but it was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. You don't have your family, you don't have friends, you have one cup of rice a day. That part was the hardest, mentally. But everything else I was pretty Ok."
Were you surprised they kept Russell over you?
"No, not really. We were on a losing streak, we'd lost every single challenge. I think their number one goal was to win the next challenge. I think Russell, he obviously is bigger, taller, he's played this game before.

Before every season, Survivor host Jeff Probst tells me the players he thinks have a good shot to win. But what’s always more fun is when he IDs the players he thinks can’t take home the million dollars. At the top of his list for Survivor: Philippines is a former Miss Teen Utah, Angie Layton: “She’s just naïve,” Probst told me on location right as filming on the season began. “She has a beautiful tan. And she’s concerned about it. And that’s a clue. You shouldn’t be thinking about that. Angie’s probably...
