SHNO is an actress and recording artist from the Netherlands. She was born in the Kurdish territory of Iraq and moved to the Netherlands at the age of 7 with her family. Before she became an actress, she went to International Business School in Haarlem and spent a lot of time in New York as a Marketing Assistant in a Theatre. There she met many successful Broadway actors that she guided and helped during their acting workshops and was ironically invited by drama course tutor Scott Freeman to join a class. She wasn't convinced that acting was for her just yet and moved on making music and graduating in Business School. She is a native Kurdish Sorani, English and Dutch speaker. SHNO was named after a small town in the Kurdish region of Iran. Her first love is music. At the age of 6, she was invited by a local radio station to record a jingle for them which she turned down because she was too nervous. Her parents were very supportive of her creative career desires as her father is an Art Painter. The first time she professionally acted was in a short film. She loved it so much that she quit her then job in Amsterdam and flew back to New York, this time to pursue an acting career. Moving onto 2016, SHNO graduated in East15 Drama School and has made London her home since then. She is working on her second studio ep called D.A.R.K. and has Stoffig Licht (Dutch cinema film) in post production along with Caged (UK short) and is co-producing her first feature film called YAS which is in development.
