David DePape, accused of attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi at their San Francisco home in October, told police that he also planned to target a list of other public figures, including actor Tom Hanks, Hunter Biden and California Governor Gavin Newsom.
The revelation came at a preliminary hearing for DePape on Thursday. According to the Associated Press, Lt. Carla Hurley testified that in interviewing DePape for an hour after he was apprehended at the Pelosis’ home, he told of other people he wanted to pursue. According to court records, DePape told authorities that in his break in of the Pelosi home on Oct 28, he was searching for the House Speaker. But she was in Washington at the time.
DePape has pleaded not guilty to a series of federal and state charges, including attempted kidnapping of a federal officer or employee and assault of an immediate family member of a federal official.

A former Law & Order actress agrees with a controversial piece about the show’s flaws.
Diane Neal, who played Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, spoke about John Oliver’s now-famous critique of the franchise.
The HBO host chastised Law & Order for providing an unrealistic take on how police work occurs. That included how it ignores the realities of assault victims rarely finding justice.
Neal asked fans to share their experiences and soon had replies from people about their experiences with the police following an assault.
Their stories had Neal admitting she felt “embarrassed” about her work on the show and its presentation of police work.
Her words fuel the growing discussion of Law & Order’s view of police work and the public perception of the victims.

“Give Me Liberty” isn’t the easiest film to describe in one sentence. But its producer, Alice Austen, and lead actress, Lolo Spencer, knew it was exactly the kind of film that needed to be told — even when studios and financiers wouldn’t support them.
“We were told that we were unmarketable, undistributable, unreleasable,” Austen said at TheWrap’s Power Women Sf event on Monday evening, quoting detractors who said “Give Me Liberty” would never make it to Sundance or Cannes.
The film follows a disability transport driver in Milwaukee who, accompanied by a group of octogenarian Russian immigrants, must pick up a young woman in a wheelchair on the other side of town amidst protests in the city. “Give Me Liberty” eventually went on to premiere at Sundance and was unanimously chosen to participate in Cannes.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R.-Ohio) is many things: an ardent climate change denier, a fierce opponent of reproductive rights, an advocate for “traditional” marriage and a staunch defender of the President’s right to straight-up lie to the American people. He is also alleged to be something else: an ignorer of rampant campus sexual abuse, per 2018 reports that Jordan turned a blind eye to Ohio State University wrestlers’ allegations against a team doctor during his time as an assistant coach at Osu. (In 2018, Ohio State hired a law firm to...

Christine Pelosi and a group of other electors penned an open letter to national intelligence director James Clapper demanding more information regarding Russia’s involvement with election interference ahead of the Electoral College vote on Dec. 19. The letter, posted on Medium, states that the “United States intelligence community has now concluded with ‘high confidence’ that a foreign power, namely Russia, acted covertly to interfere in the presidential campaign with the intent of promoting Donald Trump’s candidacy.” The electors continued: “Confirmed communication between Trump’s aides and those associated with the Russian election interference activity raise serious concerns that must be addressed before we.
