Exclusive: Emmy winners Julianna Margulies and Sarah Silverman are lending their star power to support the Oscar-contending short documentary Jack and Sam, the extraordinary story of two Holocaust survivors reunited nearly 80 years after they escaped death in a Nazi labor camp.
Margulies, Silverman and Amy Zvi (Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles) have signed on as executive producers of the film directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Jordan Matthew Horowitz. Back in 2019 Dn spoke with filmmakers Visitor (Aka George Thomson and Lukas Schrank) about their music video Resolution, which followed a female sumo wrestler named Tuvsho and her desire to reach the heights of her male-dominated profession. Today we speak with Visitor again, this time about the documentary I am Tuvsho which evolved out of that earlier music video and offers an extended insight into the world of Tuvsho and her ongoing journey within the realm of female sumo wrestling. Much like Resolution, I am Tuvsho uses gorgeous cinematography to weave a stirring account of an impressive athlete that is emblematic of contrasting ideals. Dn joined the co-directors for a revealing conversation about their committed approach to Tuvsho’s story, the evolution of the film post-Resolution and the equipment they opted for that would allow them to create a real and genuine document.

"The mind has its own place… and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven."
I've got a trailer for an incredibly interesting short film for you to watch today called They Wait For Us. The film has a very haunting atmospheric vibe and it looks like it will be a totally trippy viewing experience. It's also cool coming across little films like this. Here's the synopsis:
In a near-future end-of-life care facility, a reclusive hospital worker starts to believe a coma patient is secretly communicating with him. As his belief develops into obsession, reality collides with the subconscious on a journey into the depths of the human soul.
The movie was co-directed by VFX artists Lukas Schrank and George Thomson, and it's currently making the film festival rounds.
The movie has been described as a "haunting mini-masterpiece that’s as visually arresting as it is spiritually compelling.

"The mind has its own place... and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven." What the?! Visitor Studios has released an official trailer for a short film titled They Wait For Us, which is currently playing at a few more film festivals before it ends up online. Usually we don't post trailers for shorts, but I'm making an exception for this because this looks incredible. Co-directed by VFX artists Lukas Schrank & George Thomson, the short is set in a near-future end-of-life care facility, where a reclusive hospital worker starts to believe a coma patient is secretly communicating with him. Described as a "haunting mini-masterpiece that’s as visually arresting as it is spiritually compelling." I don't even really know what's going on here, but the visuals in this trailer are trippy and entrancing, and I can't wait to see the full short. Check it out below.
