Japanese developer Nippon Ichi Software look set to develop multiplatform games for both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in the future. In a recent interview conducted by gaming website, Famitsu, the developer’s CEO, Sohei Shinkawa stated:
“That’s true. As you’ve said, we are a software company that has grown together with PlayStation, and are well aware that a lot of our fans are on PlayStation platforms. So it is not as if we will stop developing games for PlayStation. Overseas, PlayStation 4 sales are incredibly strong and we will continue making games for the PlayStation 4 platform.”
The interview comes just days after Disgaea 5, a popular Nis developed game, has been confirmed as a Nintendo Switch port. Nis has long since published the majority of its games on Sony’s various platforms. This includes the PSVita, which stills sells respectably in Japan — where handheld gaming has emerged as more popular than home console set ups.

Baz Luhrmann's resplendent, hyperactive Netflix series The Get Down documents hip-hop in the days before it was truly documented. A colorful, graffiti-strewn 1977 Bronx tableau about a gifted, lovesick poet named Ezekiel (Justice Smith) who finds himself drawn into the burgeoning culture exploding at block parties, the series sets the action years before docudramas like Wild Style, Kurtis Blow's performance of "The Breaks" on Soul Train and rap was etched to vinyl — even before landmark pieces like Robert Ford Jr.'s Billboard breakdown "Jive Talking N.Y. DJs" started...

Crouching Geisha, Infuriating Elimination.
If this week’s So You Think You Can Dance had to be summed up by a twist on an Oscar-winning movie title — and let’s be honest, what major life scenario couldn’t/shouldn’t fall under those terms? — then what better way to express the joy of Gaby’s Japanese-inspired hip-hop number and Edson’s blow-to-the-gut exit at the exact moment he broke on through to the future all-star side?

Edx has returned with another deep, sexy edition of his No Xcuses podcast. It’s been several months since we premiered one of these shows for the Swiss DJ/producer, and this edition of the series features a number of quality tracks.
In this instalment, Edx spares no expenses in getting the party started, kicking the mix off with his Miami Sunset remix of Spada’s “Catchfire.” His rendition makes for a powerful reimagining of the original, priming the listener’s ears for what’s to follow. The track can also be streamed or downloaded on its own.
Other memorable moments on the mix include Night Safari’s “Daylight to Midnight” and Hi-lo’s “Renegade Mastah,” as well as three IDs about which concrete details have yet to surface. As always, the whole of the mix rides a fine line between club-friendly house music sensibilities and high-energy Edm.

Before there was Skrillex, or DJ Snake, the Edm scene belonged to a funkier batch of producers, zeroth to Dubstep and Twerk Bass was Europe’s insatiable Fidget House movement. I remember going to the Hard Haunted Mansion festival (now Hard Day of the Dead, and now +18) in 2009 and seeing some of the best producers of House, including British beat scientist Fake Blood, then burgeoning Wobble masters Jack Beats and American genre defiers Major Lazer (when Switch was still in the group), but it was Italian duo Crookers that took the show. Their brand of House was noisy, intoxicating […]...

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including The Strain, Falling Skies, Teen Wolf and Finding Carter!
1 | Will Girl Meets World ever allow us insight into Riley and Topanga’s daughter/mother bond? And why is Riley so comfortable calling her teacher “daddy” in school?
2 | Really, Falling Skies product integration? A gleaming jar of Hershey’s Kisses in the middle of the otherwise organic, post-apocalytpic commune?
