BroadwayWorld.com confirmed exclusively back in December 2012 that a highly anticipated revival of the mega-musical 'Miss Saigon' was in the works by producer Cameron Mackintosh with auditions taking place for the lead role of 'Kim' a part created by Lea Salonga. Today, Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post that the show will open later this year, likely in Mackintosh's Prince Edward Theatre currently home to 'Jersey Boys'. Riedel also confirms our previous reports that co-directing the revival will be Laurence Connor and James Powell, who also co-directed the revival of 'Les Miserables' that is now touring and which will hit Broadway in 2014.

There's nothing like a huge, Oscar-winning film to get a famous musical back on people's minds. "Les Miserables" is returning to Broadway for the first time in 11 years starting in March 2014.
The return will feature a revised production of the hit play, although it is not yet clear what changes might be made to the original, Tony-winning production. When it first arrived in New York City in 1990, "Les Miserables" played for a successful 13 years, only leaving its home at the Imperial Theatre in 2003.
"This magnificent theater has the perfect blend of scale and intimacy for a story like 'Les Miserables,' and I can't wait to put together a brilliant company to bring this great musical to new generations of Broadway audiences," the show's producer, Cameron Mackintosh, said in a statement.
